He was…read moredelighted to find Motel du Fleuve, as it was around 15 minutes away from where we go every year to a family BBQ. From the outside, it looks adorable, and the price was good. They told us at the beginning that this was a non-smoking room, and we both were very very happy to hear that. Also, the motel's proximity to the river was excellent, so we could have a grand vista upon opening up our door. As soon as we approached our room, and opened the door, the stench of cigarettes was so thick, I thought we'd get cancer sleeping there. Also, I am disabled, and there were no bars in the shower, nor near the toilet. While the bed seemed ok, we could not get rid of the stench of the cigarettes. There were not enough towels for us to bathe. It took a few phone calls to finally get some. There were these series of hooks on the wall, and so since there were no closets, my husband took one of his linen summer shirts that was on a wire hanger, and hung it on a hook. What happend next? That little light shirt on a wire hanger pulled all those hooks down. We were hysterical, that something so minute could do something like that. Lucky I didn't have to hang up any underwear! I need a desk, chair and a lamp to put on makeup. I always bring a magnifying mirror with me. I set up my makeup mirror, and take out all my makeup, went to turn on the desk lamp, and what do you think? It didn't work! had no light to get dressed. We were supposed to stay three nights, had to leave after two. I do not recommend this motel for anything at all. It could have been a very pleasant stay, but it was not. I think these people that own the place do not care about it whatsoever. If I could have given it a half a star, I would have.

The room had one queen bed, a desk, a small round pub like table with two chairs, a fridge, a TV hung in the corner of the room. The room only came with two thin pillows, ask the desk for more they won't be enough. There is an air conditioner mounted in the window, worked great for the size of the room. The sheets were adequate, no comforter or duvet just the thick top sheet and dust cover. The water pressure was fantastic. The hot takes a bit to get going but we always had hot water. The bathroom is clean and isn't cramped. You may hear the water turning on in other rooms , the pipes in the walls, but outside of that it seemed to be sound proofed pretty good. We couldn't hear any TV's in other rooms or any other noises for that matter. WIFI signals are strong but the internet is very slow. Good for checking the news but don't plan on streaming Netflix or any services like that. We were constantly getting bumped off the WIFI and having to reconnect although the signals strength was great. Wasn't a huge concern for us. TV has lots of English channels which was surprising and awesome. The location is east shore of the river across from Montreal, directly on the river on a bike/walking path that goes up to a small park. It is off the beaten path but you can catch an UBER into Montreal on St Catherine st for about 16 bucks. It's the same price to get into Brossard to shop so why not go into Montreal? The only pizza place that delivers is COMO. It's okay, typical regional type pizza place, awesome amounts of cheese on the pizza, pepperoni under the crust. $40 for two mediums with two toppings then add tip. For the price and the service this place was an absolute gem and we had no major complaints. The location is out of the way from everywhere but if you compare to paying for parking and the hassle downtown Montreal you might as well come here and grab an UBER into town and back.

As adequate and pleasant as the multi-might stay was, some things must be mentioned which should be improved and prevented regardless of whether we will ever return: - There was no "do not disturb" sign available, so room service did basic housekeeping every day we were there, which we generally do not want. To make matters worse, they must have tossed our entire snack box of recently bought cookies, chips, and cups because they were there one morning and nowhere to be found that same evening upon our return. - The bulb on one side of the headboard burnt out, so we removed the bulb and asked front desk for replacement, but at the time of checkout 5 days later, it still had not been addressed. - The A/C was ancient and hard to work with for optimal, comfortable temp in the room. In fact, I woke up in the middle of the night one morning shivering, and most other times or was difficult to get the room temp down. On the other hand, we appreciated the quietness although I'm sure the noise from the A/C played a big part. The room was well appointed with everything we need for sleep and recovery, and for once the tp want like a sandpaper. Plus, I always have a soft spot for family businesses (which I assume this is). I hope they continue to improve and do well.

We came in the room and it smelt disgusting but we just let it slide and sprayed perfume everywhere. Few hours later, we found dirty and moulded food in the drawers. We complained to the reception and just said they'll be reporting the incident. Hours later, a family member wanted to hop in the bed and opened the sheets to see there were stains and the bed was soaked. Although, they finally offered us a new room, which was better than sleeping in the other. The receptionist did much as possible to help but although I wouldn't recommend if you want a clean room w/o troubles!.

Typo the front desk male clerk (not make clerk). There was also an ant colony on the shelf under the desk in the room. It was gross! Thought I'd puke! I told the front desk clerk and he cleaned the area with a rag and Windex by wiping the ants into the carpet. I told to wipe the ants off the carpet. What kind of a housekeeper(he does the housekeeping) put the ants into the carpet? Is he for real? The hotel must've gotten a good deal on him. Anyhoo he removed the ants from the carpet but what if I hadn't told him? And the next morning the ants were back. I thought they don't allow pets at this hotel. I checked out that day.

We attempted to contact ApartHotelMontreal multiple times to notify them of the situation and struggled for days to reach someone in their offices. When they finally responded, the manager agreed to provide a hotel credit if we cancelled the reservation on Expedia. We contacted Expedia as instructed, and the Expedia representative informed us that ApartHotelMontreal would need to cancel our reservation independently. When we tried to resume contact with the ApartHotelMontreal staff, they were unresponsive. After many phone calls and emails, we finally received a response regarding a credit. They retracted their offer. Highly unprofessional and a deeply unsatisfactory experience.

The bathroom was spacious and closed off from the room. I did not enjoy the lack of ventilation in the bathroom. I think adding a fan in the bathroom and an option to turn it on to help with ventilation would be ideal to help reduce smells. I've stayed in plenty of hotel rooms that offer a fan option on their thermostat, just to create some sense of white noise and breeze in the room and there was none here. If you are a light sleeper, you may want to pack a fan or white noise machine. The beds were very comfortable. There is a pool and sauna on site, which my kid enjoyed. We were here from late Friday evening, to Sunday afternoon, and unfortunately our rooms were never made up, even after calling front desk to request it while we were gone for an event. Staff were accommodating when we did find them in the halls, and always provided extra towels and toilet paper upon request. It just would have been nice to come back to our hotel with made beds and empty trash bins after being gone for several hours.
