It was strange. Massive, room m-temperature, thick, dry yet chewy whole wheat tortilla. Hardly any filling. The tortilla dominated the experience. "What the heck was that" is all that could come to mind after completion. Side chips (extra charge) were tough and thick. Pico de Gallo and guacamole were OK. The former with a consistency of sour cream. The orange "hot" salsa was extremely sweet with a mucous-like mouthfeel. This place seems to be more of a bar than a restaurant. Tacos may be a better choice. Service was excellent.

It seemed that we weren't the only ones hungry after normal German dinner time - the place was packed with people half our age. We could barely hear the friendly servers - it was extremely loud - who took our order quickly and also brought us the food a bit too quickly. We hadn't expected gourmet quality, but the fajitas verduras were too greasy, the quesadillas verdura hot direct from the microwave, and the guacamole tasted like it came from the plastic bucket. We ordered two non-alcoholic cocktails -very expensive and much too sweet. Maybe if we'd gotten a little drunk, we'd been able to enjoy both the atmosphere and food better. The meal ended up being the most expensive of our weekend in Augsburg and Stuttgart, but at least we've learned to avoid Sausalitos in future even if that means going to bed hungry.

I was pleasantly surprised by the place. We went there one night for dinner. We arrived somewhat late, but they were still open and there were several tables occupied by people eating. The restaurant seemed to be a fairly popular place to hang out on the weeknight we were there. As is often the case, parking was difficult, but we lucked out and got a space across the street. They had a fair selection of local beers and a pretty extensive menu. I got an enchilada platter which included two enchiladas, Mexican rice, a few chips and a little salad. The enchiladas came with a little chili on them, unusual, but it worked. My meal tasted good, and had a good flavor to it. My wife got a plate of nachos which turned out to be absolutely massive, but very good and loaded with toppings. Overall, we liked this place. Their Mexican food is quite good and though I have had better closer to Mexico, I think it does the cuisine justice. If I were in the area, I would go here again.

But my lips were burning when I was eating this burrito, so be careful going spicier than that! I just wish they wouldn't put so much lettuce on the burrito. I mean, why is there any lettuce at all, let alone a ton of lettuce?
