We ate there twice! Both midweek nights, the tiny house was filled to capacity with local patrons. If you don't know where to look for this place you will not stumble upon it because it is located out of the way, in the courtyard of the old Abbey. Top notch service, delicious food & wine. Notable: the most delicious apple strudel we ate during two weeks in Bavaria.

I don't know what was wrong, but I do know that things took so long [our entrees hit the table nearly an hour after my soup] that Both of the waitresses apologized, separately, looking very anxious. I can say that the soup -chestnut cream- was glorious. Sweetly silky, and perfectly portioned to share a little bit and still be satisfied enough not to be craving more once the bowl was finished. Sadly, it served to whet my appetite and raise my expectations only to wait an age for a meal that fell utterly flat. Both entrees were slightly dry and otherwise utterly forgettable, not -bad- but sadly not good enough to warrant the cost. If the meal had held up to its promise, the pleasantly romantic setting and attentive waitstaff would have easily gotten a fourth star and possibly a fifth.
