I needed a 110 GT score to put in my Warrant Officer packet. My weakest point was math. I decided I should try tutoring. I found out about Mathnasium through Google searching. Thank goodness for reviews. I was nervous because I am an adult seeking tutoring. Luckily, Mr. JC was so welcoming from jump. Mr. Rodgers was great at explaining the program. Then, it was a breeze from there. I started my tutoring in January, but being in the military, Mathnasium worked with around me being in the field. A month and some change of tutoring from amazing tutors from all walks of life. I tested March 3rd and I increased my GT to 113! This place worked wonders! I absolutely recommend it! Do NOT let being an adult stop you from achieving your goals. This place helped me achieve mine. Thank you so much! She entered Sylvan reading at a kinder level (beginning year Kinder.) She left after close to 150 hours of instruction time. Still reading at the same level... They have "benchmarks," that they're suppose to achieve. But their grading system makes no sense, and it will continue to show growth. But there really wasn't any growth. They use the iPads the whole time, the teacher doesn't really teach them. The iPad does. This was the worst investment I could have ever made. I asked them after we found out if she was dyslexic if this would help. They of course said yes. But it didn't. And then towards the end they want you to come in so they can sell you in more hours. I didn't schedule that appointment because I knew i wouldn't continue. They never followed up with us, and we just kind of went on our way. She has since gotten tutoring specific for dyslexia and is doing fantastic!

I spend so much time on business matters because of their mistakes. Another review mentioned they are condescending and rude, which is true. They repeatedly burden their mistakes on the students, and I have to get involved. The only good experience has been with teachers and the registrar's office. However, the registrar's office needs to get up to date with the times and allow students to drop classes online. Business Services, Financial Aid and Advising offices are the biggest hassles. Their billing could be more clear as well. I am college-educated from a private university, and I have a kid at a top-ranking school, and this is not even close to how a university should be run.

They separate the younger grades, middle and high schoolers when attending lunch. They now have sports activities with great coaches. My daughter's class has 30 until so many issues occurred, well over half way through the year, which forced them to get another teacher and split the class. The first teacher my daughter had was awful, to say the least. She screamed at the children, hardly taught a proper lesson, shamed and embarrassed the children, was always unreachable, and even asked us to buy her a cell phone so we could reach her. My child, 7 years old, has been given to strangers, left to walk the OPEN property, and was given to pick ups WITH OUT asking for I.D (this was even after I made a complaint about her almost being given to a stranger). My child had a Doctor's appointment and needed to be picked up early. The school told the pick up that she WASN'T at school that day. It took the almost an hour to call me and confirm that she was infact there and safe. Since those times, she has been exposed to teenagers dressing, being sexually harassing by a male student, injured (including a head injury that I was never told about), bullied, and picked on. When she told her teacher, the teach called her dramatic. Each and every time. When I spoke to the teacher (she ONLY called me because I called the school livid) and told me my child was again dramatic when I was concerned over her being sexual harassed and threaten to be killed by the same student. Whom has been an issue all year and I have reached out numerous times about. So a little boy can habitual sexual harass my child then threaten to kill her and SHE is dramatic?!?!! She was also sent to ISS when she got upset over it. During her time in ISS and MALE staff member questioned her about the assault. Making her feel very uncomfortable. At no point would that fly at any other school. I've asked for MONTHS to have a meeting with a certain teacher (it was well documented in her folder and via email) and was ignored each and every time. Any time I have requested a meeting and it be honored, was if I call the office about it. Cove Charter is rouge. They do not follow safety guidelines, they lie to parents, and their curriculum and grading practices are a joke. No wonder they are on disciplinary action for the low grades and poor teaching. I feel terrible for the FEW good teachers there. I wish so very much that they would transfer to a real school. When my daughter started at a new school the staff asked what school she went to last year. When I told them, without even outlining the troubles we had, they were empathic and immediately assured me that they were different. Apparently its common for students to transfer out and the schools are aware of how awful Cove Charter is. At the end of the day, Cove Charter is NOT a small environment based on learning enrichment. It's an alternative school for those who were kicked out of public school. Do not come here thinking anything otherwise. It was a dangerous mistake we made.

I have been enrolled in UOP for almost a year. I work 2 jobs and I'm a single parent. This school…read moremakes it easy to be able to do the things that I want or need to do. Not being drown by 4-5 classes at a time, sitting in front of a computer for 8 hours a day. This is 1 class every 5 weeks, and if you get your work done by Saturday (unless otherwise noted) you have Sunday and Monday to recoup. It is easy to keep up, and so far I have had no issues with the instructors getting back to me about questions that I might have.
