I've never had an issue with any other place. Every morning she would scream that she didn't want to go and honestly, every time I picked her up, the place smelled like shit. The cleanliness was disgusting and I took her out after 1 month. The last day, her thermos and north face just suddenly disappeared. There is a teacher there named, ms. Diana who makes it known that she hates her job. This place should be shut down.

He continues to learn new things all the time, and has developed friendships and social skills even at a young age. Each day there is a consistent routine, which is so helpful; but also a variety of activities and special events and guest speakers to broaden their horizons and develop new skills. Additionally, the secure new app is fantastic in keeping parents updated throughout the day on what the kids are up to - we love having everything at our fingertips and seeing pictures and videos of his smiling face every day! My 2.5 year old son has been at Barnyard since he was six months old. My nearly 7 month old daughter has been there for a month. We absolutely LOVE barnyard. So far, my son has been in the infant room, toddler 1, and toddler 2. The teachers are just that- teachers. They not only care for the physical needs of my children, but the emotional needs too. The two primary infant room teachers are incredible care takers who provide so much love and affection, as well as daily engagement. They are more than just babysitters as we experienced elsewhere. They plan activities and work on helping the kids hit their milestones. In the toddler rooms, the teachers are amazing too. They have a wonderful curriculum in place and really foster an environment of play based learning. My son has thrived so much there. Each day, he comes home talking about what he did with his toddler friends and he is always learning about new concepts and mastering new skills due to the daily activities. We actually moved my son to Barnyard after a poor experience elsewhere and were blown away by the professionalism and care we found at Barnyard. Barnyard is an extremely well loved school in town and has truly earned its wonderful reputation.

The pool section is my personal favourite aspect of this YMCA. Jeremy the Aquatics Director and the Head Life Gaurd Kevin are true professionals and a general pleasure to work with. The teachers are forthcoming when they notice signs the kids may be ready to take on something new, such as starting solid foods as an infant, to removing pacifier as a toddler, potty training, etc. At each stage, they discussed if we wanted their assistance with this transitional phase and supported our kids while providing feedback to us on progress or challenges. They provide breakfast, lunch and snacks; aside from being a huge benefit to us as parents, we've noticed it has increased the kids interest to try new foods as their friends are all eating the same thing. Their director is hands down the best! She has been incredibly communicative with us, works with each family's unique circumstances and children's needs. I'd have to write a novel to document all the insane things this place put my family through, but…read morehere's a summary: CEC insisted my child had Special Needs (he doesn't- we had him evaluated at THEIR insistence), exhibited signs of autism (nope), removed him from his classroom for unknown periods of time, called him violent and a bully, endangered him with a choking hazard (didnt take the wrapper off a cupcake they fed him, he vomited it up later that night, I'll include a pic), ignored when kids bullied him, and generally overstepped boundaries to an insane degree. He was 2 at the time. Check our their EEC Lead page and see the things they've been investigated for: not reporting or keeping children in their care safe, dishonesty on incident reports, and more. Do yourself a favor and take your child somewhere else.
