For a mere £19 I grabbed myself and my other half 4 drinks and a plate of tapas totalling to over £100 usually. Booking was mandatory as this event is highly sought after, so we were lucky to get our first choice. Thursday nights are obviously the start of the weekend now a days! My other half, TW, had 2 beers whilst I spoilt myself with a couple of peach and strawberry Bellini's, which were quite lush, but half the size of those you pay for. This is obviously expected but still shocked me slightly. The views certainly made up for it. The tapas wasn't anything to write home about, but was enjoyable enough. We did have to pop to grab some bagels, but we hadn't eaten since lunch time, and have large appetites. The views were obviously incredible, but the venue lacked atmosphere, maybe because it was only half past 6 and the working world hadn't fully churned out yet but if I were you I'd save your pennies for a rainy day of you haven't got a voucher.

Basically, it feels like a dorm that isn't very well maintained - which I'm pretty sure is exactly what it is. Staff is fine - not really that engaged, but do their job fine. Location is pretty good - not at the very center of town, but definitely convenient - only a quick underground ride to most major attractions. Lots of bars and restaurants in the neighborhood.

I was on a Ef college tour on my stay here. This place had to type of air conditioning. The room was so hot and it was summer time! Getting to my room was a hassle as some doors require and additional keycard scan or button press. The view from my room was so beautiful but apart from that I can't really mention anything else positive.

That would be fine if they where of reasonable quality…read more The water that comes from the sink is not safe to drink - the "hotel" lets you know this by posting signs in the bathroom. If you want water it is in a stinky kitchen, but no cups provided except the coffee cups from the room. Kitchen is locked at night. You can get a water bottle downstairs but the machine is broken. The guy in the lobby recommended coming downstairs and using a drinking fountain. This is London, how do they not have safe drinking water? Beds are prison style cots, pillows have been used for years. Air conditioning and heating are pre-set and can't be changed. If I was a college student I would be disappointed in the rooms - as an adult, I can't believe they charge money for this place.

The room we were given was spacious clean and had a private bath which is super nice. Location, Location, Location!! This is the real win!! The location is excellent. Bankside is located on the Thames in the historic borough Southwark It's about a 7 minute walk from Blackfriars train station. Next door to the Tate Modern Center. Shakespeare Globe, Gail's, Paul's are all close by as well as Millennium Pedestrian Bridge. You are within walking distance to many great sights. Saint Paul's Cathedral. Saint Paul's Cathedral is where "Feed the Birds" from Disney's Mary Poppins was filmed. Near Saint Paul's Cathedral was the Big Bus hop on hop off tour. We paid extra for Breakfast at the cafeteria. Lots of heavy food. Some of the items were sausage, beans, potatoes, yogurt, tomatoes, bacon, breads, eggs, jams, some fruit, juices, coffee and tea. Go early or you will wait in a long time. The place is usually full and busy. Great amenities coin operated laundry room, a bar and free WIFI. House keeping is every three days. They provide towels, soap and shampoo, and linens for the beds which are made up. The rooms are clean and safe. When you check in you will be given a room ID card (actually just a piece of paper) to check in with security and show at breakfast. You are supposed to carry this ID at all times.

I believe that these buildings are used as dorm rooms during different times throughout the year. The rooms were pretty small, but they were more than sufficient for us. They had a little kitchen, which was kind of cool. The room was kind of hot, but you were able to request a fan, which we did for the second night. This was very helpful. One thing that kind of stunk was that our room was facing a car mechanic, which was fairly loud at an early time. This was the worst part of the room. These accommodations are about a half hour walk to all the bridges, but we thought the location was pretty good in general. It was also by some places to get food. We were able to kill some time before our flight in the lounge that they had, which was really generous of the people working the desk. They were super accommodating.

Dashwood studio's is a horrendous place to live. The accommodation has been very badly built and is…read morefull of building faults, once reported they take weeks or even months to be fixed. There is no compensation for any, usually lengthy, amounts of time a resident has to go without basic essentials such as heating/ hot water. The laundry is not inclusive in the expensive rent and costs £2.60 per wash plus £1 for drying, the actual laundry card itself costs £3 and you can only top it up online with a minimum of £10. The majority of the time the website does not work so the 'coinless laundry' is a massive headache for most residents. Furthermore there are only three washing machines for over 300 people meaning it takes hours to get a load done. Along with the extra expense of the laundry there are further hidden costs when taking a room at Dashwood studios. You have to pay £1 to use the pool table and there is a £10 charge if you get locked out of your room, each and every time you get locked out. There is a £25 charge if you lose your fob. Noise problems are serious at Dashwood studio's and are never resolved. The internet is not wireless and you have to pay up upgrade it to a faster speed. The accommodation is falsely advertised, there is no Sky Sports in the common rooms and no security at all just CCTV's in certain areas. Not a great place for a student.

My experience at The Curve (mid-November 2016): burglary and unhelpful management…read more I had my laptop stolen from my locked room. I had reported the case to the police as burglary. The security of my room was compromised by the broken corridor door. The management was extremely unhelpful and did not fix the broken corridor door even after the burglary. I would not stay in a place where I feel unsafe.
