In fact, that sweet grandma may be the same lady that was ensuring all the food was stocked and helping people get ice from the beastly machine. The rooms are pretty outdated, but clean enough. And surprisingly, the bed was rather comfortable. I'll bring my own toiletries since what they give you is pretty minimal. The door to the room stuck, so we had to slam it to close it all the way-sorry neighbors! For what it is, and what it's advertised to be, the Willow Creek Inn is just fine.

The king bed is a sleep number so my boyfriend and I each adjusted our own sides to what we liked and it was awesome. There was an attached outside patio with a hammock, the jetted tub was giant for me and my boyfriend to fit in with room to spare (it could fit three people really) and the changing lights and jets just really made it amazing. Seriously the best tub I've ever taken a bath in it was so romantic. They have a huge selection of dvds for the TV in the room as well (I'd say maybe bring a couple of your own, the two we grabbed were empty unfortunately due to past guests having sticky fingers) but Wi-Fi available as well if you wanted to stream anything. We had the entire inn to ourselves on a Saturday night and it was very lovely and quiet. The included breakfast the next day by the owner/hostess Katelon was very nice and she is so knowledgeable about the town and had fun facts/spots to check out when we come back! There is a feeling of serenity to this place, from the calming music they play throughout the inn to the beautiful artwork and plants in every room. I'd definitely recommend anyone passing through or looking in the area to stay, to check it out. I pulled the piece that holds the ice and felt the sides of the machine, it was VERY SLIMY and full of scales. The owners live on site. The woman was very kind but the man was an animal. I had an appointment to go see my son, my mom did not have her license with her so they wouldn't let her in. It was 3:04 and I had to take my mom back to Country Paradise motel. The man wanted to charge me another night while I was gone for an hour and 15 minutes. My mom said she would just wait under the tree while I went to visit my son. I knew she'd be ok for such a short time. When I got back the man was talking to my mom when I got out to put her in my truck. The owner freaked out on me, pushed me while I was trying to explain what was going on. He knew exactly where I was. I pushed him back. The man is twice my size. He then put me in a chokehold and jerked me to the other side of my truck so my mom couldn't see what he was doing to me. The whole time I was trying to get away from him but he had his arms wrapped so tightly around me I couldn't move. He threw me to the ground on the really sharp, jagged rocks. I'm still trying to get away from him which upset him all the more. He threw me down on the rocks. I'm laying completely on my side and I tried to kick him with my left leg which I couldn't raise very far. OMGOSH, you would have thought I tried killed him. He came at me with such a vengeance and slugged me in the head 3 times. I felt so hopeless. still wanting to get in my truck and get my phone. He keeps yelling at me "You're going to jail". The officer finally got there and hurried over to me and helped me up. The jerk finally took his clutches off of me but the officer saw him holding me down. I was bawling. The owner was yelling and freaking out on the officer because he came to help me and heard me first. He was telling the officer he was going to sue him, calling him names etc.. The officer had me follow him to the station to fill out a report. A couple minutes later here comes the owner banging on the door demanding to talk to the Supervisor. The officer had to call in 2 county officers to help. They handcuffed him and put him in their vehicle. I went to the ER 2 days later because my whole body ached, bruises everywhere and my brain wasn't working. It hurt to try and think. I was informed I had a brain concussion. I'm 68 years old and this scumbag was jerking me around like I was a ragdoll. His wife kept tell him to stop which fell on deaf ears. P. S. The moral to my story is, if you're going through Gunnison and don't want to get beat up, stay somewhere else.

We loved the window seat, the great fridge to put our fruit in and the fun little library to select books and movies from. We went on a wonderful tour of some of Spring City's old homes. Such a treat! We relaxed in their hot tub in the back yard and even enjoyed the cows, house cat, chickens, horses, and dogs on the farm. :) The breakfast was fabulous with Sally making just what we liked (fruit, steel cut oats with all the trimmings, eggs and bacon).
