I have been going for almost a year and have enjoyed every lesson I have had there. The horses are well trained and cared for, the barn and arena is always clean, the staff are helpful and sweet. The trainers are patient, very knowledgeable, and clearly love teaching! All of them are a pleasure to be around. I am working with Fiona now. She is fun, talented, and she brings a great deal of experience. I have made some new friends and get the chance to be around the horses, which makes me so happy! Constantly…read moretalking trash about parents and kids and the trainers don't do much and expect the tack assistants to handle every single thing that they can easily do since they sit in their offices all day and eat. The horses are not taken care of very well and do not get good turnout. On sunny days they turn the horses out for two hours and on rainy/cold days no turn out at all and no exercise for the horses at all. The horses who need extensive care and attention are thrown to the side since they're not valuable to their lesson program. Overall very shady and very two faced, faked individuals. Over priced for a not so good service. Go somewhere else.

Her understanding of what a rider needs to do for each individual horse, in order to achieve maximum performance, is astonishingly deep. New riders become expert riders surprisingly fast. But what I enjoyed most as an experienced rider coming to Horsehaven is how Solange can prove, through demonstration and practical trial, how tiny changes in seat, balance and aids can greatly improve the horse's movement.

Family Stable is the friendliest, most helpful stable I have ever experienced…read more They have trained, safe, desensitized horses to ride and are willing to offer help whenever needed. Everyone there works as a team. The owner, Mike, and his three sons are down-to-earth people who take the best care of customers. So are their other staff. Riding around Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds and in the Metroparks of Berea is a relaxing, fun experience. There is a little creek we sometimes cross, which people and horses like. The only drawback of the stable is the lack of pasture turnout for boarders. This could be good for me because I hope to stable my fat pony there so he does not eat too much pasture grass. I also hope to have Mike's son Hakeem (sp?) help me train this pony because Hakeem is a gifted horse trainer. He must get this from his father, Mike.

If you live close by and are looking for a relatively quiet and straight forward walking/biking…read morepath then this is a great option for you. The trail starts in Mantua & ends in downtown Garrettsville (just behind the Mill restaurant) , each section is divided into three gravel paths that were former railroad corridors. You will be surrounded by various species of trees, swamps and fields. The second section of the path even looks a little like Nelson Ledges with its beautiful carved stones. But due to the swamps & the Cuyahoga River being almost directly next to these paths, you need a really good bug repellant! And plenty of sun screen as the first section of the path (in Mantua) is very sunny despite all the trees. The only downside is that if you start off in Mantua, the path is directly next to a rubber factory that smells terrible! And you'll also pass a random storage unit facility but the walk is somewhat scenic other than that. I used to walk here every day after work to help maintain my weight, it is very straight and flat for those of you who have difficulty walking...you could probably use a motorized wheelchair if need be without getting stuck. It is also very clean and not a high traffic area. There's also a playground, shelter/pinic area and basketball court near the Mantua Village Park (on East High Street. Garrettsville Villiage Park is on State Route 700 in Hiram Twp.).
