Power Tree came out and provided an estimate within a couple of days. Many of the other tree…read morecompanies kept giving me excuses on why they couldn't come out. Power was also 10-25% less expensive than the other estimates I received. Once I approved the estimate, they were out in a week to do the work. Day 1 was a full day to remove two trees. Both were ~50-60 feet (oak and ash) and were in the backyard that was not accessible by a bucket truck so they had to climb it. Day 2 was 2-3 hours of work to grind the two stumps. The lead time for the other overpriced companies were at least 1-2 months out. Power's crew also did a great job of minimizing any damage to the lawn considering the amount and weight of wood they have to remove.

The roofers showed up on 5/2 and roofed the house. But they didn't complete the job (soffit and fascia) and left scraps and sheet metal all over the yard and had obviously not run a magnet around the yard because I picked up a ton of nails, debris etc in the yard. I let Brian know on 5/5 and didn't hear back, I contacted him again on 5/8 and was told Jose would show up on 5/10 to complete the facia. Jose was a no call no show. I had to reach out to Brian again to get the job done and they sent a couple guys out to finish the job on 5/12 but unfortunately they didn't speak English and I don't speak Spanish and they didn't know what they were supposed to do so they left. Again, I had to contact Brian to reschedule. 5/24 they showed up and "completed" the job. Upon inspection of their work I found for the soffit, they went over the rotten wood which should have been removed, used white caulk on brown flashing, still hadn't completed the flashing on the left side of the roof, didn't secure some flashing, and again left debris all over the yard. So I called Brian again to let him know my findings and in the meantime he sent me a bill that was 57% higher ($4,250) than his original bid! He stopped by 5/26, for which I had to take a day off work to make sure he understood my concerns. The crew came back later that day to finish and rework the soffit and left. Upon inspection I still found some rotten wood where it should have been removed and again debris was everywhere. I talked to Brian again and let him know I was less than satisfied with the job and let him know I'd be leaving a review online to which I just got an apology without an attempt to make it right. It's very apparent he and the crew don't have pride in their work or care about their customers. I paid him and I can say the only thing he did efficiently was cash my check. If you want a substandard job and some apologies Brian is your man - otherwise go somewhere else.

We called Arnold's Construction and RC came out the next day, no charge. His estimate was reasonable, so we went with him. Some of the wallpaper had been damaged so - obviously - we needed to take all of it down. The vanity and the floor had been damaged and needed to be replaced. RC provided paint and flooring samples. We bought a vanity at Menards. RC and his crew did all the work with no hassle to us. The workmanship was perfect, and they left everything clean. Easy to do business with and excellent work.

He has done 2 huge French drains, one massive brick wall, numerous other brick projects in our yard, all for competitive prices. The way he felled a huge juniper tree that was growing into our house and overhead electrical lines was pure genius. Yes, it is hard to communicate with the company. His wife has several little ones. She does the estimates and schedules the work. I do have to get after her to get back to me, but once I get her on track, Caesar and his crew arrive right on time and finish right on time too.
