When we called and told them we were going to come get him they said oh that's not a good idea. They just basically wanted more money from us and we're not a bit concerned about my cat. My dog's recurring ear infection caused me to schedule that today--a Sunday! same day appointment!--so Petfolk already had points in their favor even before I got there. I use a holistic vet that can be hard to get into, plus it's a hard drive clear across town on a weekday, therefore they are not good for urgent use. (They are also super expensive and make you wait a frustratingly long time once you're there). Everyone at Petfolk--Zabrina, Peter, and Dr. Mary Murphy--was so friendly, timely, gentle, kind, informative, and explained things so well. I felt heard and respected and they gained my trust quickly. This included the breakdown of cost, and updating me on cost as the appointment progressed. I knew just what the treatment plan entailed when I left, but even if I hadn't, they sent a follow up email spelling it all out. My dog is generally quite healthy, but with her allergy-borne ear issues and advancing age, I immediately saw the value of the membership even though I almost never go for that sort of thing. I look forward to the new location in Kennesaw opening in a couple of months which will be perfect for us. The newest example is a $27.75 tech fee to give my dog an injection. They also started their own online pharmacy so now they won't answer requests from other online pharmacies. They also won't price match. I tried saving money by looking around online but now that doesn't matter. You can go by and pick up a prescription but then you have to mail it to the online pharmacies so that takes forever. I have no problems with the care my dogs have received but I feel like it's more about profit than my dogs well being now.

My husband and I have grown deeply disappointed in this practice for our dog's annual care. We've been seeing Dr. Stone for a period of time, as one of our dogs has recurring sacculitis. Dr. Stone prescribed numerous antibiotics without ever offering a bacterial culture. She referred us to a local specialist who informed us that the medications that Dr. Stone had prescribed were completely inappropriate and lessened our chances of treating this issue. We were advised to discontinue immediately. We have been kindly emailing the practice with our concerns since 8/8/23 regarding this issue. We've emailed this practice a total of 7 times. Most emails were ignored, but the ones that were answered had a recurring response stating "I will talk to the practice manager tomorrow". It has been 7 weeks of reaching out and we are consistently ignored. They even ignored my husband's phone call, which was attempted on 10/6/23. Our dog only gets sicker and sicker and undergoes more and more procedures as we continue to dish out money for a preventable issue. We've invested so much time and emotional stress, to include driving out of state for care. Had we been offered bacterial cultures to ensure the right antibiotics were being prescribed, this could have been much less worse than it is. We should have known to grow suspicious when Dr. Stone flipped through a physical textbook in the exam room because she didn't know what to prescribe us (can't make this up!) The lack of concern from this practice is very disheartening.

I called a few times before my appointment to double check I had all the paperwork I needed. I stopped in two days before to talk to the staff in person. I show up for my appointment and the vet has no idea what he's doing and they can't complete the certificate. No one needs added stress during an international move and he could not understand how I was so appalled by their lack of care. What else could I have done?! I called and spoke to the staff multiple times. I stopped into the office. And still showed up for my appointment and the vet had no idea what he's doing was doing. She was breathing but completely unresponsive, and we were terrified she wouldn't wake up. We explained exactly what had happened. The staff recommended an X-ray--which we agreed to, as we were concerned she might have broken her neck. However, they also insisted on pumping her stomach "just in case she got into something." We declined, knowing that wasn't the case. After the X-ray, they confirmed she hadn't broken any bones but noted that she was still in a lateral position and unable to stand. I asked if she was still breathing and if she was okay. They mentioned that after administering an IV, she moved slightly and wagged her tail--giving us hope since she hadn't moved at all when we brought her in. Then, they suggested additional blood work. I refused, believing that if her neck wasn't broken, she likely just needed rest. Instead, I asked to take her home. They insisted she needed to stay overnight for monitoring--at an additional cost we simply couldn't afford. When we asked to see her, nothing could have prepared us for what we saw. She was dead. She was hooked up to machines, her eyes lifeless and almost out of their sockets. I was devastated and furious. I turned to the vet and asked, "Do cats come back from this? Will she wake up?" His response? "The prognosis isn't good." I broke down, feeling completely taken advantage of--not just emotionally but financially. In the end, we were charged $1,000, only to lose her. If you want to be scammed and mistreated in your time of distress, this is the place to go. I will be reporting them to the Better Business Bureau because what they are doing is unethical. She was rescued from the streets and has very little faith and trust in humans. It has been a long road to ger her to where she could be spayed. They worked with us for nearly 6 months to ease her fear. You have no idea how difficult it has been, but they never gave up. They had to figure out how to work around her fear and they did. Our sweet Luna has been successfully spayed and micro chipped. Up to date on all vaccinations and is on heartworm and flea prevention meds. FINALLY I am so gatedul for Dr. B, Dr. Leck,and this amazing staff who never gave up on us!

I cannot recommend this clinic based on my experience. From my perspective, this felt like a…read moremoney-making practice rather than patient care. I brought in a stool sample after personally seeing worms in my dog's stool and paid $60 for a fecal examination. The clinic reported that no parasites were found, which directly contradicted what I observed in the sample I submitted. Instead of addressing this discrepancy, I was told I would have to pay for another office visit before my dog could receive any treatment. Paying for a test that produced results I cannot reconcile with what I witnessed, and then being asked to pay again, was extremely disappointing. I have requested the laboratory report and a review of my case. If this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will file a complaint with the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine

So I paid $60 for an exam to get a superficial answer, then was almost definitely upcharged on the shots and the medicine. Also, no one introduced themselves. At least I don't think; genuinely hard to tell because out of the three people that came in, the two talking to me blabber at speeds that would put even the most insufferable salesperson to shame. the third person that came in and took my cat did exactly that. She took my cat, didn't acknowledge or say anything to me, held him incorrectly (with his legs dangling wtf?) and had dropped him off just as abruptly. They also insulted my cat and accused him of being grouchy (or something to that extent) and told the assistant to "watch out for him". TLDR; super impersonable staff, upcharges on service and medications, and unhelpful results Bring your pet here if you hate animals. ⁠⁠
