This is an update to my review. For a newsflash Hamilton Mill Animal Hospital is working diligently to complete their new complex. It will be something for the eye along with your best friends for healthcare. I am writing this review, though almost six months later it is with heavy heart. On August 15th I lost my best loyal friend, my Skittles. I want to send my deepest gratitude to an very professional organization who cared for my best friend since he was 2 years old until his last breath. If you want true caring professionals for your dog, Hamilton Mill is the place to go. Thank You. For my lost friend: It was that I grew frail and weak And pain kept me from my sleep, Then you did what had to be done, For this -- the last battle -- can't be won. I cannot recommend this clinic based on my experience. From my perspective, this felt like a money-making practice rather than patient care. I brought in a stool sample after personally seeing worms in my dog's stool and paid $60 for a fecal examination. The clinic reported that no parasites were found, which directly contradicted what I observed in the sample I submitted. Instead of addressing this discrepancy, I was told I would have to pay for another office visit before my dog could receive any treatment. Paying for a test that produced results I cannot reconcile with what I witnessed, and then being asked to pay again, was extremely disappointing. I have requested the laboratory report and a review of my case. If this matter is not resolved satisfactorily, I will file a complaint with the Georgia State Board of Veterinary Medicine read more

Took my cat for an exam and nail trimming, was told that my cat MIGHT have an allergy to fleas. I asked again about what he had at the desk and the receptionist was kind enough to double check, but the 'doctor' came out and reitirated the same non-answer. So I paid $60 for an exam to get a superficial answer, then was almost definitely upcharged on the shots and the medicine. Also, no one introduced themselves. At least I don't think; genuinely hard to tell because out of the three people that came in, the two talking to me blabber at speeds that would put even the most insufferable salesperson to shame. the third person that came in and took my cat did exactly that. She took my cat, didn't acknowledge or say anything to me, held him incorrectly (with his legs dangling wtf?) and had dropped him off just as abruptly. They also insulted my cat and accused him of being grouchy (or something to that extent) and told the assistant to "watch out for him". TLDR; super impersonable staff, upcharges on service and medications, and unhelpful results Bring your pet here if you hate animals. ⁠⁠ read more

They took IMPECCABLE care of my little baby Cocoa Butter. They were thorough, efficient, communicative and thoughtful. Their prices were very reasonable for her cleaning and extractions and the level of care was outstanding. It was absolutely worth the hour drive to get the thoughtful attention my baby deserves. Super thankful because leaving her for a dental cleaning and minor cosmetic surgery was anxiety inducing but they made me feel as though I left her in the most capable hands and I was right. read more

We took our snake in today for a penile prolapse. Being a snake we didn't want to spend a small fortune. They actually gave an estimate ahead of time which many vets would not do. We were extremely satisfied with the price charged and services. Truly recommend. read more

So sad!!! I have spent the past 5 years bringing my dogs there, never ever was I not able to schedule a visit 24hrs to 72 hrs out. Now a week and a half out is ridiculous, they said " we have a lot of new customers!" Guess me as a client fit in their rotation program. New customers in, old customers out! read more

I'm going to keep this short because I'm still grieving the loss of my second pet this year. However, a veterinarian who I have been told is no longer there put pressure on me to have both my dogs teeth cleaned. I added the wellness plan to help with the cost off it and set up surgery for March. I had already complained about my younger dog who had been coughing off and on for a year. My second/older dog 14 year old ShihTzu, Jaxx, started coughing after the surgery and my younger one Texx they were extremely worried about as he barely came out of anesthesia. Well after discussing with the vet who actually did the surgeries she said both dogs had a collapsed trachea which is normal in dogs such as this breed. I believe had the original vet or even the one doing surgery would have done the proper testing and analysis they make have refrained from performing surgery and putting them under anesthesia when it was not life threatening concern with their teeth. Both dogs collapsed trachea was probably already present but having the surgery and putting a tube down them was not helpful and caused their illness to get worse. Both dogs had severe breathing issues afterwards and we were spending lots of time helping them with medication that wouldn't cure but only help keep them comfortable. I feel bad they not had surgery we would have received more years with both dogs. I suggest they make pet owners more aware or the procedures and they do a better job analyzing the benefits over the possibility of death when recommending a outpatient surgery that is more of an elective vs necessity read more

My sister was out of town and I took her cat in because of a red, irritated eye. I explained that they were not their regular vet,but brought a copy of paperwork showing he just had a physical and all shots a month ago. They charged me for an "$83.00 comprehensive exam " which consisted of the vet listening to his heart. They ran 3 tests and $265 later, gave me some eye drops. I will never go back. read more

We recently switched to Hamilton Mill Animal Hospital as we moved too far from our previous vet we've been seeing for years. So far everything has been great. It is a clean and well kept facility, all of the vet techs, front staff and doctors we have met have been very kind, gentle with our pups and very informative. They have great communication with is wonderful & for me I think their pricing is fair. They have also listened to any concerns I have for our pups and offered options and solutions. Highly recommend their dental cleaning! It was time my 3 yr old get his dental cleaning and his retained teeth removed, so I called several vets nearby and Hamilton Mill seemed to be the most reasonable in price (and thats with Heart of Suwanee having a dental promotion going on and considering you're new there). The day of the appointment, we dropped him off at around 8am and were told he'd be available for pickup between 3-4. I was worried since I've read some bad stories about dental cleaning with anesthesia, but about an hr and a half later Dr. Fulmer called letting me know everything went well. He was very kind, informative, and took his time explaining everything over the phone. When we arrived to pick him up, we were given the invoice, in which we had no idea which was what, and the lady at the front desk didn't even bother to explain each line item and its purpose... So I just paid, assuming everything was correct, and then met with Dr. Fulmer who explained everything to us. The total came out to be $295 (dental cleaning w/anesthesia, 1 deciduous teeth extraction, pain medications, and take home pills), which I was very satisfied with. My dog didn't seem to feel groggy at all because he was running around as if nothing happened once he got home. I'm just extremely happy that they got rid of all his plaque and tartar buildup, and no longer has stinky breath :D Will definitely be returning. read more

We have been going to this vet for all medical and grooming for our giant schnauzer. Vets and techs are great they get 5 stars. Our usual groomer has left and the "new" experienced groomer called us after we dropped off our dog and let us know that the $80 price was now $120+ because their prices needed to be updated for her. The price was not worth it. Was the worst cut he ever got. Will never bring him back there. Was a disappointment and waste of money. read more

Looking for a new vet as i just moved into the area. Called to find out some information, lady was nice. However, i asked what the price would be for basic shots, was told they routinely do a whole list of items and it would cost $285. That's robbery. I asked for the cost of shots to ensure a dog has them on record. $285? I was a vet tech before i became a nurse. I have worked with kennel clubs and rescue organizations. What most people don't know is that you can buy a 10 in 1 vaccine which has pretty much everything needed except rabies for 10 bucks retail. That means vet hospitals get it even cheaper, yet they charge $285 for their $3 vaccine cost and ten minutes of time Big nope. Vets need to make a living also but that's extreme. To be fair, a fecal was included, though that really is simple and is part of the ten minutes. They just look at the stool for worms or eggs through a microscope. Gave them a two because the lady was nice. I know the pricing isn't her fault. read more

I really wish i could understand the reason as to why this place is so expensive compared to other vets. If your pet is sick and the family is not doing well, the last thing you want to worry about is money. Unless your rich and want to waist your money, i wouldn't recommend going here. This place is just a money grab. There are so many other affordable options around the same area. The amount of times this place lied to my family, gave us false hope, and ripped us off is insane. They charge $350 for a blood test and $150 for a urine test (thats with bringing the pee in yourself), when the friendship springs vet 7 minutes away charges $100 for both(blood test with urine test). We brought my dog in to see what was wrong with him because he had a uncontrollable bladder and you know what they did to my poor baby, drugged him to 'relax him' because apparently he wasnt supposed to be excited to go bye byes? This was 2 days ago and all they did was make everything worse. Hes now throwing up, has diarrhea, isnt eating and has no energy. We were told that he was going to be out of it for 8-24 hours, of course they lied about that. And they refuse to give us a refund or admit they this is all there fault. If you care about your dog, dont trust these people, they have proved multiple times that they dont want us to stay with them. I could keep going but this review would be too long. The only reason this review is 2 stars and not one is because the front desk ladies are so nice. read more

Today was our first time visiting this animal hospital, being new to the area, so they did not know us. We had to unfortunately have our 15 year old pet put to sleep. Trinity and Dr. Farmer were so caring, and made this terrible ordeal somewhat bearable. Even after our dog was gone, they showed care, and compassion. This place is not the same, when it was owned by Dr. Geneos it was a five star location with loving staff. It's a circus now. You have an appointment at 10:00am that they call & confirm. At 10:15 they tell me there are 6 people ahead of us & they don't know when they will be able to see us & they are closing at 11:00. I am about to spend over $1,000 for that kind of service. Dr Fulmer, I have my conversation recorded by my husband and clearly I was lied on....I was yelling and very frustrated but NOT one word of profanity came out of my mouth. I would be happy to play you the 30 minute tapes of our conversation. I understand in these circumstances the client rarely has the advocacy and I understand you have to side with your staff. What you omitted froM the reply was that we called ahead of time and discussed what she could afford to pay with Christy. I made it clear that she is on a fixed income and could not pay over $150.00. We were good to break up the visits by a few weeks so that my Mom would not experience a short fall financially and as soon as she got to your practice the opposite of our desires occurred. There is nothing to talk about. It took this review for anyone to attempt to discuss things with me or my mom. It clearly does not matter to you of your lose a client, so for those reasons we will go to another practice. read more

Super clean facility. It doesn't even smell like a vet's office. They were gracious when one of my dogs recently passed - they stayed open during lunch so I could bring him in for cremation. I had never been to them until that day. Yesterday when I couldn't get one of my other dogs to my regular vet they saw me quickly and did a wonderful job on his eye that had a complication from a recent surgery. Patient, kind and thorough. What an incredible place!! I have never received such great care and genuine interest in the care of my Bella. Dr. Flowers showed so much love for Bella, my 4 pound Yorkshire Terrier, who is my heart!! I met with both doctors for a consultation on a teeth cleaning. They both took their time, gave me information that I needed, answered my questions, and made suggestions that would benefit my baby girl's life. We just moved to GA from CA, so meeting the right vet was very important. Today, Bella had her teeth cleaning. Not only do her teeth look amazing, but her spirits were high and she looked like she made some new friends while there. We have definitely found our vet for life! Caring pet lovers ... every staff member gave my lab their attention. I think he would go to the vet everyday just to get all the belly rubs and lovings they give. Knowledgeable and customer friendly. I had my lab in for some ongoing issues with allergies and ear infections. They did a physical and we were sent on our way with the usually list of medications and treatment plan ($300+). I appreciated the fact that they didn't try to give the same ole treatment that our previous vet gave (and obviously wasn't working). The next day the side of his face started swelling up. I let it go for a couple days to see what happened and it got worse. I had to bring him back for what ended up being an infected tooth which was quickly discovered after the Dr. looked at his mouth/teeth. An additional $700 for surgery and other treatments for the tooth. I guess I am just disappointed that this wasn't discovered in the physical just a couple days prior. I will continue to use Hamilton Mill Animal Hospital due to their nice facility, knowledgable/friendly staff and the fact that they didn't just recommend Apoquel like my previous vet (for my dog's ear infection) but be cautioned for a more thorough exam next time. I would have given a higher rating if the physical was thorough and the costs were better. read more

I took Bentley, my three year old Yorkie to be seen by both Drs. Flowers & Fulmer. I dare you to find two, more professional and caring Vets anywhere. Bentley had two sets of teeth. I took him in early one morning and just a few short hours later I was called to get him. The bill was three pages of procedures including pre-anastesia check, the removal of teeth, anastesia, cleaning of teeth not extractedl, medications, heartworm pills, nail trimming--the whole works all for just over $300.00. How was I so lucky to pick These two wonderful, gifted Vets? PLUS they are surrounded by a wonderful, friendly staff and groomer. Unfortuanally, I lost Bentley on Sept. 6, 2015. He was born without a tracea and it was extremely hard to breath. His heart became enlarged and he apparently had a heart attack. When Drs. Fulmer and Flowers got notice, they sent a small dish on a stand with Bentleys name and a beautiful prayer on it. Dr. Fulmer call me to express his sorrow. Thank you both!!! You will be my doctors if and when I can bring myself to get another companion. By the way Bentley came with a "clean bill of health" from Puppies Galore in Snellville. Apparently Puppy Mills which NOW I KNOW THEY ARE, are allowed to lie just to make a buck. Shame on them!! The nect pet I get will be from a shelter or adopt one read more

This animal hospital is great. Our dog broke his front paw within minutes of our move to the area. We didn't have a vet but thankfully our neighbors did and sent us here. The staff met us at the door and had our dog out of pain within minutes. Although they could not do the complicated surgery there, they repeatedly called to check on him. Truly a caring practice, so glad we found them. read more
