We had to pull our child from kindergarten at Manzanita. Our child was not stimulated educationally, and the teacher told me she had no option for our daughter stating she had to "teach to the majority." They never tested her for TAG. My daughter hated going to school every day. She said her teacher was grumpy and never smiled. Not an environment we wanted to our 5 year old to be in. The teacher told me that she did not want parents to volunteer in her class because she was very triple A. The principal got involved and eventually let me volunteer. I would describe the classroom as very "militant." In addition, after reviewing the "porn literacy", sexual education curriculum for K-12, & CRT/identity politics-oriented material we have concluded that our Oregon public education system is no longer fostering an education based on principles and values but rather fosters an indoctrination of our children. We moved our daughter to a private school, and she is flourishing academically and LOVES going to school every day. We definitely made the right decision. read more
