We had forgot to gas up for a weekend trip down to Mobile and stopped by here to grab gas before…read moreleaving all remnants of city life behind for the barren uninhabited lands of Alabama ... ok, maybe a little dramatic, but we didn't have enough gas to get to Prattville and I wasn't sure if there were any stops before there. Once you exit the highway, you have to go into the Walmart parking lot to access this place. Kind of a pain, because the light is on timers and we sat for a small eternity (ok a little dramatic again) waiting to turn. Once we got in here, they have very limited # of actual pumps and space there isn't a ton of space. Probably not going to get much more than a standard vehicle in here easily. Gas prices were fine, nothing exceptional nothing super spendy. The convenience store part of things is where it is really not great. It's an outdoor store .... so literally all the coolers and snacks are outside. They must move them in during storms? And when they close (unless they are 24 hours (not sure). For me this location just isn't easy enough to warrant a stop. If I was desperate maybe, but I'd opt to keep going if possible.

This location is open early and late, and is price competitive. Why go miles out of my way in search of the best gas price, when I can just stop off at Murphy USA within a short block of I-65? Turning right toward Hwy 31 out of Murphy USA puts you back at the exit headed towards I-65. Murphy USA has all the usual grades of fuel, snacks and drinks - but no inside store at this location.

Decent enough Chevron gas station located just off of Interstate 65…read more The gas was competitively priced and the inside has the usual convenience store items, plus they have pizza. If you want something else, there is a Jack's next door. I would recommend here. I will give it four stars.

DO NOT EXPECT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE WITH THIS EMPLOYEE NAMED DONNA, AT THIS CHEVRON…read more Monday Oct. 3, 2011, about 11:00 p.m., my ambulance crew stopped at Shelby Airport Chevron as we have done many many many times before. We pulled into the station and parked parallel to highway 87 to change drivers and to get some refreshments. I went inside the store to get a cappuccino. I waved at the clerk behind the counter, as I went in. I used the bathroom. Then I came out and went to the cappuccino machine. The price sign on the cappuccino machine said ,"32 oz. - $1.59". I selected the cup, and dispensed French Vanilla into the cup. I placed the cup in front of the register and pulled out a $5 bill to pay for it. When the clerk entered the price, the register showed it as $2.29 + tax. I said," Ma'am, the sign back there says that the 32 oz. is $1.59". She said, well the price just went up and I hadn't changed it". I shrugged my shoulders. She said, " I have to enter a code and this is the price". I said, " Ma'am, if the price that you have on it is $1.59, then you can either sell it to me for that advertised price or you can keep it". She said, " I'll just keep it!" I put my $5 back in my bill fold and walked out of the store. I went and got in my vehicle, near highway 87. The clerk, named "Donna", left the store unattended and came out to my vehicle where my partner and I were preparing to leave. She said , " Just so you know, the cappuccino was $2.29 for a medium!" I got out of the vehicle and told her I would show her the price that I saw. I said that it is possible that I misread it, but I was pretty sure it said $1.59. We went back inside the store to the cappuccino machine and I showed her the sign that I had read. "32 oz. Large cup - $1.59". It was eye level ON THE MACHINE ITSELF! She pointed up in the air at the ceiling and said that I should have read the sign up there. I am over 6 feet tall, and she pointed to a sign that was almost 4 feet above even my head. I said that I was only going by the sign that was actually posted on the machine and I wouldn't have thought to look up at the ceiling for additional signs. The clerk named "Donna", then snatched the sign off the machine and walked away. She said, " I'm going to call your company and report you!" I asked her for the store owner or manager's name. She told me that he would be in in the morning. I asked for his name again. She didn't give it. I said are you not going to give me his name?" She told me his name was David Harold. I asked for a number that I could contact him. The clerk, "Donna", said she didn't know a number. I went outside the store to get the address off the building and to look for a contact number. I came back in the store and took a picture of the cappuccino. I took a picture of the clerk. She asked me for my name. I wrote it on a piece of paper and gave it to her. I asked her if she would let me take a picture of the sign that she had taken off the machine. She picked up the phone and called the police. She reported that I was in the store acting ugly with her. She accused me of refusing to leave and wanted me removed. So, I then waited for the police. Since I was being falsely accused, I did not want to leave until I had spoken with someone from the police dept. I used the video mode on my phone to tape the situation. When the police arrived, I explained what happened. I explained that I had left the store and was in my vehicle when she came outside to claim I was in wrong and deny her own error. I told him that I showed her the price and that she then threatened to report me. I told him that she had taken down the sign and was refusing to show it. Since he did not immediately ask me to leave, I repeated that the law states that if you advertise a product at a stated price that you are obligated to sell it at that price. I mentioned again that she has the sign behind the counter and will not show it. He looked at her. She then went over and grabbed the sign and slammed it on the counter. I showed the price of $1.59 to the policeman. I took a picture of it. I told him that I asked for a contact number for the owner or manager. He asked her for the number to the store. She gave the number to the store. I asked for her name. She only said "Donna". I asked the policeman if I could note his name on my piece of paper. He held his uniform so that I could see it. His name was "Rollan". This is so sad. In all this the clerk, who was clearly wrong and uninformed as to the law, never even hinted that she had made a mistake, or that she had failed to carry out some pricing duty. She never even apologized even a little. Even after seeing that she had made an error, she chose to threaten me. The owner and or manager of this store needs to review the store surveillance footage and see the ridiculous and confrontational behavior of the clerk that worked that night named "Donna". Her attitude and behavior is unacceptable. Calvin Lasley
