Publix is always a pleasure to shop. From the excellent customer service, to the well stocked shelves, to the BOGO deals, it's one of my favorite stores I frequent weekly. I love every location of the store and this one is my most visited, go to location. It is probably one of the larger stores in the chain here in Birmingham and I have found friendly people over the years in every department. Look for those Bogo specials And enjoy the large selection and a friendly people because that is what sets the store apart from other grocery stores. read more

One of the larger Publix stores in Birmingham. Better selection than most other locations. Well stocked, and attentive staff. The bakery usually has my sourdough loaf, for some reasons they're always sold out of sourdough at other stores, I want it! Please stock more, Mr. Lix! I know people rave about the Pub Sub. Although I'm not a big fan of large, cold sandwiches, I do always crane my neck to look as I walk by. They looked like they were on top of it here. I was here to buy some balloons for my mama's birthday! She did a great job, caring about every detail of my 8 balloons (string length, pairing, weight-style, etc). She did take a while. I felt as though I could've maybe blown them up myself just as fast. It was a windy day and I immediately lost one of my eight balloons when I walked outside. [Hold your hats for a Kurt Vonnegut reference in a Yelp review about Publix]. So it goes... P.S. I think they should rebrand their store brand ice cream as "Pub-licks." Thank you. read more

I'm assuming this most recent visit was my initial visit to this particular location. Hard to believe but I guess so. I needed to grab a few items and it made sense to come here as I was in the area. I was able to do some light grocery shopping and grab a sub from their deli for lunch. Publix has some of the BEST subs to me and a footlong is $8 , when not on special. This is a deal in my book!! This location seems smaller than other locations I've visited. Nevertheless, nice inventory in general. I was a little disappointed to not see any Dungeness crab claws available in the seafood department. Otherwise, the seafood department appeared to have a nice variety. All the staff I encountered were pleasant . Checkout was no line, no waiting. Fast , friendly service! Publix makes me love grocery shopping ! (well not really.). This is a really nice location as far as grocery stores go and comparing to Publix Locations elsewhere. The outside, for some reason, feels a little dated, I do think this is a slightly older strip mall type location so that could be why. Once you go inside though, it is pretty obvious that they have taken care of the place over the years. Layout is similar to other Publix locations, so you will kind of feel at 'home' right out of the gate. Really nice bakery and deli area - they also serve sandwiches fresh made, I may need to go check this out another time. Stock on the shelves was plentiful, except for Gatorade??? (Not sure why) Prices are standard, which means it's best to shop their sales. They do a lot of buy one get one free type sales and will give you 1/2 off when you only buy 1 item. No interaction with staff (no purchase) - but all in all a good location and I'd shop here. read more

Went to the express lane during my lunch break. The cashier's scale stopped working and instead of going to a manager for help she stood idly and was completely unapologetic about wasting my time and the time of other customers in line. There were multiple solutions for this problem and she chose to do nothing and act helpless until a manager arrived. read more

Worst deli Publix I have ever been to. Out of bread for subs? Come on. Had to slice the meat? She had the balls to put on some raggedy ass lettuce to boot. I go to Publix in Fla all the time. Alabama is a different vibe. read more

Clean, spacious, friendly staff. This grocery is a pleasure to shop. They carry a sufficient variety of brand names as well as their in-store brands. Weekly ads and frequent BOGOs add a dash of treasure-hunting fun to an otherwise standard, boring but mandatory task. Occasionally the Publix chef is providing samples of an Aprons dish to encourage you to buy the ingredients to make same dish at home. Always worth a visit to Publix! read more

I love shopping at Publix. Normally the people are so nice and helpful. This is not the case at this Publix. It's not a place I will be shopping at again. The people were not friendly. I'm also very disappointed that they do not stay open till 10pm like most other Publix stores in the area. Will go out of my way to shop at other Publix. read more

I am blown away by the level of care that the Pelham Publix bakery took on a cake i recently ordered. It was my MIL's 60th bday. They customized it beautifully with beautiful flowers and calligraphy. Publix is always great! I would love to have given it 5 stars but I honestly can't overlook their lack of mask enforcement. Yes I'm a make person. ‍ The signs are up and the announcements are made but I've personally witnessed people walk in the door and speak to employees and no enforcement is made. Additionally, while I haven't witnessed any employees without a mask (can't say the same for vendors), I have witnessed several wearing masks with their noses exposed; which isn't effective at all. Other than that, the store is always clean, well stocked, and the customer service is great!! read more

By far one of the best Publix in the area. And that's saying a lot. I live near 3 and I go out of my way to this one. The Customer Service Manager and Store manger are amazing!! My husband and I just moved to the area and have visited this Publix about 3 times so far. I am disappointed there isn't an option for self checkout. It seems like this store is still being updated as opposed to other Publix stores in the area. We were introduced to an employee in the Seafood department and his name was Ken. He was absolutely delightful to talk to and very knowledgeable. He was quite busy tending to multiple customers at once but doing so in a very professional way. Ken was very personable and kind. I would return and shop at that department 10 times out of 10. There was one aspect of my last experience that left a bad impression on me and that was one of the managers who was called upon to assist Ken and his electronic scale. The scale wasn't working properly. The manager walked behind the counter and in a loud voice said "My blood pressure is 180/120 because of things like this" I don't know this man but his tone suggested that he was really exhausted with having to "deal" with things and he directed his agitation toward his employee in front of customers! He knew that we were within listening distance to him and I think this was completely inexcusable and unprofessional. As a manager, if you can't leave your emotions for your job, or your employees, at the door, you don't belong in front of people. Not to mention, he was exhibiting disrespect which I think the upper management should have a zero tolerance policy towards. read more
