So happy to stumble upon this gem. I'm originally from Goshen, but was only visiting for the weekend. We needed a few snacks to get us by for a hike and late dinner. I'm extremely cautious with my food and would rather go hungry than put garbage in my body. Maple City Market had exactly what I was looking for. They even had my favorite yogurt in the cacao flavor, which I typically can't find, at least in Muskegon. Love going into maple city market has the majority of the things I need. My kids love going into the store. I like reading the labels and knowing my food I'm buying is doing good but also are pouring in tons of dyes. Produce is beautiful and the whole vibe of the market is great, shockingly low priced (and often better than the big box stores) and good for you. The deli is a hidden gem for lunch in Downtown Goshen, the staff are happy to help, and somehow they offer the only non-predatory membership I've ever seen- only 100$ for a lifetime membership, and you can pay that 20$ at a time for 5 years. Staying at an Airbnb in Goshen for work. I have a lot of lunch and dinner meetings, so just need a little food to keep in the fridge. I shopped here a lot while I was staying in Goshen for work, the variety of grocery items is great and there is a large selection of premade items, locally sourced products and lots of great produce. Super expensive. Allow me to define, the organic grapes cost $8 for a bunch. I put those back, so I can't tell you if they tasted so delicious and nutrient rich that it was worth every penny. I have gotten some tasty chocolate there, and walnut-butter...but mostly there isn't much selection. read more

This is a wonderful little co-op in Goshen which carries a pretty decent variety of local and organic food items as well as bulk and even hot soups. This shop has a little bit of everything and it's a real gem in an area without a Whole Foods or a Trader Joe's. You will pay more, but get over it. It's not Wal-Mart and the products are worth the extra cost. I recently tried the chicken salad (which I think they make themselves) and it is excellent. I haven't purchased much produce here, but they do show you exactly where each item comes from. This is important to me in this day and age of factory farming and genetic modification. The staff is so nice and very knowledgeable. I highly recommend checking this place out and trying to eat clean and organic. read more

I love this place! I work down the street and have begun trying to stop by during my lunch break to do some grocery shopping. It's so great to have bulk shopping options here! I got organic avocados for 99 cents which was cheaper than anywhere else right now. Other products can be a bit more expensive than I like, but their bulk options and great assortment of eco friendly products makes me love this place! One thing I wish was they had a deli for meats. I have been looking everywhere for sliced meats that I could bring my own container for. Other than that, their bulk selection is absolutely amazing and unparalleled in this area! read more

Maple City Market came highly recommended by the nutritionist at the IU Goshen Cancer Center, and I certainly understand why. Not only did this quaint market have a great selection of organic, nutrient dense foods, but they also offer a reasonable variety of natural skin care products, supplements, teas, and oils. I believe I saw a few comments about the prices here, but considering the fact that a community coop like this has much less buying power than big chains like Whole Foods or Sprouts, I thought they were pretty reasonable. And the staff here was so friendly and helpful, notably David who kindly rang me up, which makes a huge difference. I'll be sure to stop in whenever we are in town! read more

I stop here four times a year during scheduled visits and I always make my grocery stop here the pinnacle of my visit. It is an amazing place. First of all, it's a cooperative which offers a 10% discount to members. It's a good deal and if I lived here I'd be a member for life, but I'm Chicagoan. I am a raw vegan and they have everything I can eat. Very reasonably priced no matter how much their grapes are sometimes. I give my highest recommendation and suggest a visit! read more

I can't speak to the prices at Maple City Market as I'm not a regular shopper there . . . bur it's a small store without the buying power of Whole Foods or Walmart, so I would expect to be paying more for locally producedl/natural foods. That's the way it goes! I recently placed a catering order for 100 people with Lisa in the deli and my experience was EXCELLENT. She put together a great menu to fit my budget, she was easy to deal with and very flexible, and everything was ready on time with no mistakes. The lunches were delicious and actually LESS expensive than a lot of other delis and caterers I spoke to. read more

As an out-of-towner traveling through, I was so pleased by what I found here. They have about fifty or so bulk bins, and about ten of the bins were on sale. I bought many bulk items and found that the prices were pretty comparable to the delivery-truck-coop that I am a part of at home, and the items on sale were actually cheaper. From the bulk spices, the muchi curry I bought was terrific. I found local eggs here at the price I expect to pay at the farmer's market, as well as pastured butter and local honey. Local milk as well, though I did not get to buy any. They also carried fresh peanut butter. I did not shop any prepackaged items since those are always expensive wherever you go. Very productive and useful store for people who actually feed a family with real food every day. read more

Maple City Market is a breath of fresh air. Totally recommend it! Great selection of real food. Very few items that aren't just that. (Unlike most stores these days.) As to the reviewers who wrote "Super Expensive" or things of that nature: You might want to re-examine your definition of "expensive." (Maybe we all should.) Getting Healthy food (especially in a convenient way like this) simply costs more than buying packaged, or preserved, or sprayed, or Genetically Modified, government subsidized, or slave labor grown, etc. Healthy food may seem like it costs more, but unhealthy food ACTUALLY costs a LOT MORE. (Have you checked the price of heart disease, cancer, and/or diabetes lately?) This little coop is the best market I've found in the area. Great people, fair prices, quality products, and they appear to have a first rate business model too. 5 stars! read more
