When we got to the tour, there was no greeting/acknowledgment of our presence, then was quickly snapped at by Desiree that there wasn't anything scheduled on her calendar. Desiree went on complaining "well how long will the tour be?" Annoyed. I sure hope as a manager you would know who is scheduled to tour when and for how long especially if there was email correspondence... After that brief encounter, Desiree said there were no openings and we could only view a unit that was under construction (probably health/safety violation since it was an active construction zone). When standing in the construction zone, Desiree stood in one place and instructed "you can go look around". Not to mention there was a 12 year old kid with us that could have breathed in toxins or got hurt. We did not do a walk through the zone and immediately was disappointed in the whole situation. I sure hope there are future fines against Desiree's management ethics and health code violations.

A friend of mine and her family moved into Port Terrace Apartments a couple weeks ago. First off,…read morethe manager told them they would be getting a lower apartment, when they got there to sign thr lease, she had made a "mistake" and they had to go to an upper apartment. Then my friend and her family moved in on a Monday. After the first night there, my friend woke up with a couple bug bites in her arm, didn't think much of it. Then the next couple mornings she woke up with bites not only on her arms but on her neck, face, back, legs, and ankles. It was in Thursday the week she moved in she made the manager (Desiree) aware of what was going on and she said it may be fleas because.a tenant in that hall has had problems with fleas in the past. My friend then went out and bought bug bombs, was doing laundry every day, giving her cats multiple baths, and spraying the hallways where there were numerous amounts of dead bugs to begin with. The manager said she was going to call Batzner and make an appointment for them to come out. My friend heard nothing from Desiree on Thursday, so she contacted her on Friday to see what the plan of action was. Desiree didn't get back to my friend until 4:30 on a Friday saying she was going to call Batzner again to try to set up an appointment, and that my friend would have to morw than likely wait until Monday for Batzner to come. Well Monday came and still no phone call from Desiree with confirmation that Batzner was coming. Now my friends kids and their father were starting to get bit as well! It took my friend to have to call Batzner, who said Desiree didn't call that day but they would send someone out ASAP. When Batzner got there they found bed bugs! They were in the molding of the apartment, on the mattress, boxsprings, and headboards. My friend is so stressed out, feels gross, and doesn't even want to be in her own place! Health Department and Building inspectors were contacted. Management there is very dismissive of problems brought to their attention and unprofessional!

We have been here for almost a year and so I feel that I can write a decent and honest review. My…read morehusband and I were moving from IL, so were not familiar with Milwaukee and the surrounding area. We also needed a place with reasonable rent that would take our big dog. This complex is in a cute little town in a nice area, where we feel pretty safe. It's about 30 minutes from Milwaukee and West Bed, which isn't bad. The two women who work in the office are so sweet and helpful with any issues that we have had. There was a HORRIBLE neighbor below us who was honestly doing everything he could to make us miserable, including trying to get our sweet dog kicked out. After several of his complaints, I went to speak with one of the women about the issue and she was very understanding. People here are generally friendly, and there are a lot of nice dogs for ours to sniff outside. There's a nice little yard for the dog to use. The rent is quite reasonable and we even have a small storage unit for $10/month. We plan to renew our lease here. Some issues: The apartments are fine, if slightly outdated. The walls and floors are VERY thin. I can hear our neighbors closing cabinets and using the bathroom. There are issues with people cleaning up after their dogs, so walking through any grassy areas can be dangerous. There are few garages available for extra rent, but they are not connected to the buildings. Parking is usually plentiful, but unprotected and there have been some small break-ins to cars. There are also no balconies, or direct exits from individual apartments, which is unusual in my experience. Our last apartment had a washer/dryer in each unit, so paying for laundry and sharing with 7 other apartments has been a pain. Last, the only air conditioner is a small window unit in the living room. Usually this would not be an issue so far north, but this extremely hot summer has kept us in the living room next to the unit. it's uncomfortable and annoying, and we hope that other summers aren't quite as warm. These problems are huge or terrible, but should be taken into account.

This is stressful when someone…read moreneeds to get ahold of you, or packages come, or an emergency. - they charge 50 dollars for dog rent on top of the 250 deposit for a dog. they dont care. -you will be paying for EVERYTHING, water, sewage, heat, electricity, internet, dog rent. they dont care - they let drunken college students in, same floor as a family with small children. loud drunken parties every other nite, can be heard from a block away. they dont care. they will nickel and dime you for every single thing they can find. right now theyre doing a DNA testing on your dogs, to find out whose dog is doing what, and you will be charged 250 if your dogs dna matches up with a ---- on the property. 500 each time after that. its a joke. and do you honestly think theyre going to be truthful about that? hell no, you will be paying no matter if your dog did it or not. they will never be honest with you on that one. These people should be sued. Ben , especially. This is 1980 new york slums' all over again. its disgusting what theyre getting away with. There is no maintenance, you are not safe here. nothing but banging all nite, my husband is not sleeping. i'm in a nitemare. we are now looking to get out of here. enough. they put the worst of the worst above us, and put quiet people far from us. is this how you treat people who have been there for years? f this.

Extremely quiet, clean, and lawn/snow maintenance has been wonderful. Pool is stellar, best to enjoy during the week to avoid large weekend crowds. Easy access to I-43 and 1 exit from commercial business and services in Saulkville and Grafton. Extremely convenient. My only issue, and it is not really on them, is power outages. My unit is connected to a power grid in an open field with tons of dead trees around it. Thus, if the winds are extremely strong (50+ miles per hour) or heavy rain or snow with winds, expect power outages. We have had at least 6 in the 15 months I have lived here. One was extremely bad, over 24 hours, the others ranged from 1 hour to a few.

Our dishwasher doesn't work and has rust all the way through the racks. They refuse to replace it and are lease states we have working fireplaces. Not true! We have bats living in our chimney! Still have not fixed this. We were also promised fresh paint and new carpets and still haven't gotten them fixed either. We were told the retaining wall in our would be fixed due to a previous flood that before we were moving in and it wasn't properly fixed because we now have flooding in our basement . The pump was also supposed to be fixed and is not. They are horrible. I'm done with them and now seeking further action

First, she needed all of my info before giving me a quote. Of course, when I insisted I just needed prices, she kindly moved on: There's a "service-call fee" of $312, after which they'll discuss pricing and then you get to decide what to do. Yikes! I pay you $312 just to find out what the real quote will be while you're standing in my driveway? This was obviously an easy decision. So far, only one of the three companies I've called for quotes has suggested a minimum service fee.
