First off, if you dined at the deli recently (or maybe that day?), show your receipt you'll get 10% off. Secondly, if you use a credit card there is a 3% fee, which always annoys me, so I paid with cash. My friend had been talking up their chocolate chip hamantaschen, so I got one of those and a raspberry one, plus a black and white cookie. It's been many years since I've had hamantaschen, but theirs was pretty good. However, I was a little disappointed in the black and white cookie... I've had those from New York before and also from Trader Joe's and I thought the cookie here was just okay. That being said, everything else in their display case also looked really good, especially the homemade bagels and bagel sticks, so I will be back at some point to try more of the selection. Pricing was pretty fair as well, the hamantaschen was $1.90 each and the cookie was $3.50.

I am more familiar with the New York Bagel in Ferndale and used to frequent that location several times a week while I worked in the neighborhood. I was surprised by the smaller footprint here. While it seems the same variety of bagels is carried at both locations, I'm not certain if the bagels are made here, as they were at the Ferndale location. Did I miss it because I was busy checking out the various cream cheeses? Or too busy trying to get out of other people's way? As I mentioned, it is a much smaller shop. I had the sesame bagel, which was a bit more dense than I remember. This could be because it was later in the day, and bagels have a short shelf life. Service was fine.
