Had to go back to grab an item the cashier forgot to bag. Honest mistake but could have been treated better.

Extremely disappointing experience. This used to be one of my favorite markets to go to. And what was an honest mistake from of the cashiers/bag persons turned into a really sour experience overall. The team member had forgotten to bag an item from my purchase, again honest mistake. However, making your guests have to drive all the way back and to offer not even a 5% coupon or some gesture of kindness speaks volumes of the upper management's decision making and policies and procedures. The customer service rep, Rachel, was very nice and gracious. But it's really frustrating to just be given a "sorry about that" with no offer to make it right. It almost felt like the team members were breathing a sigh of relief when I didn't push the issue. What kind of environment is the ownership team and upper management creating for their guest experiences? Not only that but I get out of my car when I went to go pick up my items and see the parking space in front of me is covered in glass. Again, a big reflection on the values and attention to detail that the leadership is communicating to their team. As a fan of the brand, please do better.

We were in the area and decided to stop in here just to pick up apples and bananas. The store is on the smaller side and really nice with a good selection of items. The produce was nice as was the fresh meat counter. The guys who helped us at the fresh meat counter and Kitchen prepared foods were both very friendly and helpful. The young lady who helped us in the bakery seemed to be bothered by us, not friendly at all. Ambiance, it's a grocery store, clean, well stocked and priced on the high side. We will not shop here as regular customers but MIGHT stop in for a specialty item when in the area but even that is doubtful. There are other stores nearby like Nino Salvaggio, Trader Joes, Whole Foods plus a Kroger that are much more reasonable for weekly grocery shopping. The 3 stars are for the bakery service and prices. UPDATE, the peach pie is terrible because the filling is like a peach paste or something it's just awful. I will leave my review stars at 3

After driving past this market several times curiosity got the best of us. We stopped in purely to explore what the store had to offer. We casually perused all of the aisles. The fruit and produce appears to fresh, good quality and well stocked. After perusing through the remainder of the aisles and found items of interests in each of them. They have plenty of options including vegan, gluten-free and organic items. I was surprised to find that they even had aa children's section with toys and books. This seems like a very nice store - like the kind of place that I'd be a regular customer.

I would have given Plum a higher rating, but I am very sad they closed the frozen yogurt section of their store. It was like Pinkberry, and was something I looked forward to eating. Now the section is under construction and I am not sure what they are doing with the space. I loved their tart yogurt and they had great toppings. They also had a wine counter which I never tried, but they used to hold tasting events. They did move the coffee counter to the bakery area. On the other hand, I tried some of their prepared food and I was wowed beyond belief. I came here to buy sweets for a party and decided to get a slice of their spinach pie. It was THE BEST spinach pie I have ever tried. I need to run back there an get more. I also tried their chicken salad with grapes. It was so chunky and fresh and delicious, I should have purchased a larger portion. It disappeared in a few minutes. Their tortellini salad was also fresh and cheesy. I highly recommend their prepared food section, pricey but the flavor made up for it. I also got a variety of baked goods that were equally delicious. I purchased a variety of their cannolis, very good, their baklava, wonderful, mini carrot cake and flourless chocolate cakes sources from a Novi bakery, great, and a half pecan pie from Zingerman's, perhaps THE BEST pecan pie I have ever encountered, I was wowed again. I also like the beer selection here, it is very diverse and you get a lot of good finds. The wine selection is great too. Their products look good, but my problem is with the pricing. I come here for unique brands and selections that you cannot find elsewhere, but would not purchase the goods you can find at a grocery store that charges a lot less. Still, I will keep coming for their gems, like the baked goods and prepared foods. It is worth the visit for those alone. Especially since they sources a lot of food from Michigan businesses which I like to support.

The variety of items here is quite diverse and some unique options in every possible area of wants and needs here. It's a one stop shop for flowers, prepared foods to be packed and weighed, a decent size apothecary, flowers and plants, seafood, meat, deli and bakery counters, gifts abound. Rows of wonderful finds. It could take me hours to go through every aisle and really study all that is offered. I went for basic essentials, honey, eggs, peanut butter and some flax seed meal, no problem finding anything I needed. Some mineral waters. It's Sunday and they cook and offer samples of this and that all over, some manned and others just offered in random end caps. I don't tend to try things and it's good I ate ahead of coming to shop here then.

Everything looks so good and all the staff are so nice and helpful. It is pricey but you get what you pay for.

I love this grocery store! It is pricey but they specialize in quality goods and have lots of organic and health conscious alternatives to the regular grocery store. There are quite a few deals if you watch their ads. Dairy is very competitively priced. All the sushi is marked half off at 8pm, which happens to be when I stop by. Might be a coincidence or might be my subconscious conspiring to add a few inches to my waste line. They also mark down bread at the end of the day. I really enjoy their salad bar, with a wide variety of ingredients. There is a great coffee shop/yogurt shop attached and you are welcome to eat anything you purchased there. The coffee they serve is Zingermans. There also a wine bar and they host regular wine tastings. They are priced well and usually well attended. In general the wine and liquor selection is excellent and they carry some of the more unique packaging. If you want something really special, check out the wine cellar. There is a door by the sommelier stand in the back. Best of all, they must treat their employees well because they are always friendly and welcoming.

Plum Market is a wonderful grocery store. The produce is fresh and well stocked, the whole store is spotless, and their staff is amazing. I love coming here when I'm looking to take special products to a friend's house. Their house made foods (soups, meals, dips, cold pressed juices) are delicious. My favorite place to linger is the floral section. They always have a unique and beautiful collection of flowers. Plum Market is wonderful and can get a little pricey but their products are of the best quality.

I am impressed because the store had 2-3 checkout lines and many, many customers, but the lines moved so quickly. The only con was that my checker did not bag my items, it's a self bag store. I am good with this con because the prices are so reasonable. The makeup and beauty sections were impressive and there are several sales happening on merchandise. Another impressive moment was that the manager got on the loud speaker of the store and asked for all store employees who were not working with a customer to please come to the front of the store to help with retrieving carts. Then, there were about 6-7 staff members that ran to the front to help. This is great teamwork. Great store, good staff, and overall good visit.

No, they wouldn't have as great of selections as your giant chain marts, but they have the essentials ready for the locals, and their owners are usually very friendly and helpful. When you become regulars, they're usually very good to take care of you in one manner or another. (Please note that I'm not speaking specific to Kappa only, but more in general.) As for my experience at Kappa, it was pleasant enough. Mark-ups weren't as bad as some of the other smaller places I've been to, and I loved the fact that they have house-made prepackaged food available. They also heavily advertise their banchans a lot, which is in line with most of these smaller joints. Koreans call it "son mat" which our trusty AI friend describes it like this: "Son-mat (손맛) is a Korean word that means "hand taste" and is used to describe the unique flavor that comes from a cook's skill, care, and personal touch. It can also refer to the idea of passing down the love and care that mothers put into their cooking to their loved ones." This is especially important because it's what will get your customers coming back for more. The trouble is that these smaller groceries are mainly targeted for locals nearby. I happen to live 90 minutes away, and if I have to do my quarterly Korean grocery shopping, I'm more inclined to go to a bigger chain mart, unless there's a very specific reason to pick one over the other. I would certainly recommend Kappa for people who are in the area, not looking to stock up for the next 3 months. As for me, one visit was very pleasant, but enough.
