I love the space. Small below street room with a variety of couches and comfy seats. A nice selection of beers. Freshly made dessert. Port with a piece of cake "happy hour" from 8-11. Unfortunately I was not ready for that. I tried to stay for it but I could not stay any longer. The 4 stars is because it felt like a sauna at 7:30 in the evening. They need some ventilation or fans to circulate the air. I just noticed that it is classified as a dive bar and I don't agree. It has a really nice feel. I came here with a group of 5 friends this past weekend. We had to stand for a few minutes and wait for seats to open up since it is obviously a small and cozy space. But we loved it! Everyone loved their beers and I loved my grilled cheese (no frills, which I was expecting and for which I was actually in the mood.) They have an old-fashioned jukebox in the corner and I especially liked all the furniture, decor and books. The temperature was very warm, but welcome on a cold, snowy night! read more

This place is a bar covered in maps (shocking) that only serves cake a grilled cheese. Do you understand how awesome that is?! The grilled cheese is inspired by different parts of the world and they also have funky chairs and a chill vibe. I love this bar! So comfortable, it feels like someone has invited you into their home. Perfect spot for a beer/glass of wine. It has an awesome jukebox or the barkeeper will spin some vinyl for you if that is more to your liking. Too much fun! We went there before dinner for a glass of bubbly, then went back later on that night. Make sure you save room for a piece of cake! Honestly, I wish we lived closer. Go. Just go. Go to Maps now. A beautifully curated, warm, inviting bar tucked into Old Port. The husband and wife team does a wonderful job of making visitors feel welcome. We took advantage of the "cake" happy hour and had a delicious homemade slice of English cream sponge cake and a capuccino - amazing! The espresso and cake hit the spot on a chilly winter afternoon. The beer list was nicely composed and my companion had some tough decisions to make. We will absolutely return every time we visit Portland, it is so nice to visit such a considered space. Next time we'll be sure to try the grilled cheese sandwiches. read more

Really excited to have found this new little spot! It reminds me of great bars I've been to in Montreal, France, and Austin. It's little, the furniture is great, lots of records and a jukebox that has two Jonathan Richman songs (and other songs, but that's what sold me). Really great vibe. Good beer list, smaller / less fancy wine list, great tea (seemed like it was from homegrown, but I didn't ask). My boyfriend had some cake and loved it. The menu is small and didn't have anything obviously vegan on it (mostly grilled cheese sandwiches) but seems like a really great place for afternoon (or latenight) tea or coffee, or beer. Don't miss this place! Clean as a whistle and super comfortable with eclectic décor. Not a huge beer selection but what they had was nicely chosen. They have an excellent record collection and they're not afraid to use it. Doors don't open until 4:00 and it filled up quickly. One of our favorite places in Portland! read more
