Weird experience. I came in for a fill on my lashes. I was a new client and needed to look nice…read morefor a special event. I have had extensions for years. The technician took me back to the lovely serene table area. She put on the tape and the lights and then declared she would need to remove all my existing extensions. That seemed extreme to me but I trusted her "white coat" opinion. Once all the lashes were removed and I looked like a naked mole rat she decided that she could not continue and would not give me any new extensions. She said "you have an infection". I can assure you I did NOT have an infection. Even if I did, she could've and should've noticed this under the lights before removing my existing extensions. I am sure that Divine lashes will assert that she was using her best professional insights, but to me this all felt very fishy and unprofessional. Once a technician says she "can't" work on you and uses a pseudo scientific excuse as to why not there is really no arguing. It was manipulative and punishing. As a long time consumer of lash and aesthetic services I conclude that she was not confident in her skills to give my sparse lashes extensions and that she put the blame on me by claiming infection. My eyes are fine so were my eyelids and skin. They then proceeded to charge me for lash removal. I paid and I tipped well because I was feeling ashamed. My advice is for customers to be wary of this business. This weaponizing of supposed expertise is a cover up for having a limited ability to provide skilled service across a range of situations. The more officious the less able they are to creatively help make you beautiful. Try somewhere else. I did and they gave me beautiful extensions right away. (the lashes in the photo here were NOT from Divine but another place that rescued me. And yes, my eyes look red but that is how they are sometimes. It is not pathology) But Divine sent me away in tears.

Janet, the cosmetician who performed my request was extremely nice and professional. She gave a very discrete and natural look to my brows, just as I wanted. Maybe now I would even go for a retouch to make them a bit more intense. At first the eyebrows looked too fake and I thought "Why do I always have to fall for a deal?" but now I am very happy with the delicate result. They look like mine, just a bit more defined. I recommend the place if you cant afford something more expensive but dont expect a fancy experience ;)

Botched Nano-needle Job…read more I had a very unfortunate experience with Eli Ross that I feel is important to share with others. After loosing most of my eyebrows due to a medical condition, I reached out to Eli Ross for nano-needling. Since her schedule was fully booked, the receptionist recommended another technician who was supposedly fully trained by Eli. I went ahead and spent a total of $633.33, and drove all the way from Ottawa for what I thought was an experienced professional. I asked for very natural looking hair strokes, but what I got were HUGE, solid coloured eyebrows - no hair strokes. On top of that, one was way larger than the other and had a completely different shape. I looked absolutely ridiculous. But the staff kept assuring me it looked great, and would look totally different once it healed. After a few weeks, nothing had changed, I tried calling her office multiple times but Eli would never return my calls. Finally, I went to another eyebrow professional in Ottawa for a consultation who straight up told me it was a botched job, that the technician went so deep that it was like a real tattoo and would not fade, and that different sized eyebrows obviously isn't something that heals over time. I emailed this information to Eli's staff, and only then did Eli return my calls - this was four months later. Eli agreed that it had gone wrong and agreed to pay for laser tattoo removal treatments. She would only pay for treatments at a place in Montreal where she got a discount. This meant me driving back and forth from Ottawa to Montreal and taking time off work. It is now nearly a year later, I've had two laser treatments, and I am still left with huge red marks around my eyebrows. I emailed Eli to ask for a refund. I will still have to pay for additional laser removal out of my own pocket in Ottawa. And once it is removed, I would not feel comfortable going back to her (or anyone) to get the procedure again. I also paid up front for the touch-up appointment that I never received. Eli called me today to say that she doesn't have to refund me anything. She admits it was a mistake, but apparently feels comfortable keeping my $633.33, because the waiver I signed before the initial appointment says "no refunds". I am now waiting to hear back about discussing this further but I am not optimistic.

My experience here was mixed. When I arrived, no one was at the front desk, and everyone was…read moreoccupied, so I waited about 4-5 minutes until someone came over. They checked my appointment and said I would start with the eyebrow mapping, but the tech was with someone, so told me to have a seat and she would come get me when she was done. I arrived early, so that was fine. I sat for 10 minutes, now 5 minutes after my appointment was due to start. A tech had come out and had someone pay, but didn't come get me, so I assumed she wasn't who would be doing my service. I continued to wait, then got up and looked at some of the items they have for sale. The tech was sitting at the front desk on her phone. She asked if I have an appointment, I said yes, for eyebrows, and she says "oh! That's with me!" Apparently it didn't occur to her that the person waiting was her client. The service was good. She mixed the tint too light the first time and offered to redo it, which I agreed to. After that, the nail tech greeted me and we sat down to do the mani portion of my mani-pedi. She complained that she'd done too many feet that day, so we would start with nails. She was helpful in assisting me with picking a colour. However she did not tell me that the one she suggested, which I accepted, was quite significantly more expensive than what I originally booked for, and I feel like an upcharge should be specified before performing the service. I got cat-eye polish, and that came with a "nail art" surcharge on top of the upcharge for that specific gel. I was also unsure about the sterility. She took the tools out of a plastic container with some liquid in it, not out of a sealed pouch or electric sterilizer. She suggested I do the same polish on my toes as well, and I knew I would be charged more for gel on the toes instead of a regular pedicure, but not by as much as it was. I also find that she rushed my pedicure as when I arrived home, I noticed that my toe nails were jagged and rough, and I had to file them myself, and I had a lot of dry skin still on my feet that I had to remove as well. What was originally booked as $135 (before tax) ended up being $195 (before tax), and none of that was ever told to me. The tech rushed, and mentioned several times how I'm the last client of the day and she'd had a long day. She was pleasant, not rude, she made conversation, very personable. But not impressed with the lack of transparency.

I remember how she just glanced at them and told me that she 'got it' and didn't seem to look at them even once after I kept telling her how 'I wanted exactly the same length as my former picture and the exact same style as the one from the Internet. All I wanted was a simple layered haircut with volume when she had brutally chopped off my long beautiful locks and I couldn't tell how much she was cutting cuz you can't really tell what goes on with the back of your hair when you're getting a haircut! In minutes, I realized the damage she had done, but still waited for her to finish drying, hoping that it'd look better once blow dried. I can't help, but regret going to this place where they not only ruined my hairstyle, but were arrogant enough to refuse the damage they had done. 'It's just a little shorter' is what they kept saying and I stormed out after realizing that arguing with them weren't worth my time. They simply have no hair cutting skills neither good service or good behaviour. The experience was a nightmare itself and I get multiple of nightmares everytime I look at the mirror!
