In this case, we were at our regular monthly visit to Michigan College of Beauty (free haircuts for police, fire, and veterans...ask for details) and this Sunoco is practically next door. Prices at this Sunoco are fairly competitive, it looks pretty clean, and with the common use of Pay at the Pump I had no interaction with a human so nothing negative to report. Can only think someone somewhere sneezed and cause the price to go down. Especially when the last time I filled up I paid $4.33/gal. Went in got the 24oz cup. I asked the gal which pot was the OLDEST pot. She pointed to one on the top rung. I said good. and proceeded to pick that one up. She was about to snatch it from me, but I kept a firm grip on it and told her I wanted the STRONG stuff. She laughed at me and allowed me to fill up. I gave her the pot back so she could empty it and brew a new pot. I took my OLD coffee to the back counter and proceeded to doctor it up... mini-marshmallows, ND mocha creamer, cocoa powder, sugar free vanilla syrup, and 3 packets of splenda... Yeah I am sure I violated several laws of the coffee universe but hell this is why I come to Speedway - I am allowed to make my own concoction. LOL. The gas prices always come on 15 to 30 cents less than other gas station. Big savings over a period of time. Spent $21 on 17 gallons of gas yesterday. That being said, it didn't take me too long to get in and out. I had looked at the prices on Gasbuddy before going and it was about $.12 more than Commerce, but it was worth it to me to not have to make two trips out, especially with my baby. A Costco membership comes in handy at times like this. The price for gas is much lower than other stations in the area. It's also a convenience when you grocery shop and can fill up all in one location. From there M-5, you can use 14 mile rd or the Maple rd exit and be there in seconds. They've opened a new, bigger, facility so now they have over fifty pumps. Five pumps per line mean you wait far less than ever before. You know my strategy, go there at 6:00am, when they open. I'm the only person in the place! No cash accepted is a downer. But, they do have staff available, should you need them. Because it gets bogged down, they will close the turn around entrance into Costco, so you need to go all the way around through the Costco parking lot into the gas station area. It is not that big of an issue, but it also affects you when you want to get into Costco in general. While Costco is one of the more organized gas stations, since you may only go one way, I do like an organized business, the set up and location of the how you get into the line may create some challenges. Still, this is one of my two preferred Costco stations in the area.
