Having said that, there are always circumstances that occur from time to time (like not watching my fuel level or time and convenience) where I just look for a decent price close to where I am. In this case, we were at our regular monthly visit to Michigan College of Beauty (free haircuts for police, fire, and veterans...ask for details) and this Sunoco is practically next door. Prices at this Sunoco are fairly competitive, it looks pretty clean, and with the common use of Pay at the Pump I had no interaction with a human so nothing negative to report. So I could save myself another stop if I filled up here. Over all a decent place to get gassed.

Each time I had to go inside and get a receipt from the employee. When I asked why the pump doesn't print receipts, I was given two different reasons on two different visits. 1) the employee said something like 'the pumps were designed in Florida, and so aren't designed to work in cold environments'. Or something close to this. I said BS, and that we're in MI. He did that it's a Corporate problem, and that many other drivers have had the same complaint. 2) during my other visit that this receipt problem happened, the counter employee said something like 'none of the pumps print', even though he acknowledged that the pumps offer a print option, and I'm not the only driver to complain, and that Corporate is aware of the issue. All I know is that I avoid Speedway at all costs. So far it's worked. Does Speedway Corporate have a response?

Costco even offers extended hoses, so you can virtually drive up to any pump and still pump your gas, even on the other side of your vehicle! It's always the same as the Sunoco down the street too, they are direct competitors. I went here since the Sunoco down the street was full and packed. Gas was $2.45/gallon, not too bad. Same price at Sunoco. It's all the same to me, it all depends on which place has a longer wait. Prices are better than most other stations in the vicinity at least. It's not too far from the house either. I do often enjoy the sometimes witty quotes on the marquis. Don't recall anything so witty enough to capture today.

However, the staff never seem like they are glad to be there. I ask questions and the lady after me today and it was as if it was a bother the employee working. Another day another cup of joe... Stopped by this morning for 2 reasons…read more.. Gas for car and Coffee for me. Gas was only $4.12/gal which compared to my last 4 fill ups - very good price. Can only think someone somewhere sneezed and cause the price to go down. Especially when the last time I filled up I paid $4.33/gal. Went in got the 24oz cup. I asked the gal which pot was the OLDEST pot. She pointed to one on the top rung. I said good. and proceeded to pick that one up. She was about to snatch it from me, but I kept a firm grip on it and told her I wanted the STRONG stuff. She laughed at me and allowed me to fill up. I gave her the pot back so she could empty it and brew a new pot. I took my OLD coffee to the back counter and proceeded to doctor it up... mini-marshmallows, ND mocha creamer, cocoa powder, sugar free vanilla syrup, and 3 packets of splenda... Yeah I am sure I violated several laws of the coffee universe but hell this is why I come to Speedway - I am allowed to make my own concoction. LOL. I spied some hostess donettes and snagged a package. Went to the counter - prepaid for the gas and the coffee & donettes. Ah... Car is happy and I am happy. Peace to ALL yay woohoo.
