We always try to get a spot on the lake with its ducks and beautiful grounds. We were only going to stay one night on our way to Colorado, but we're exhausted after traveling for two days. So we opted to stay the second nite. On Saturdays they have coffee on the porch from 9-10 am. We enjoyed meeting other campers with their doggies and sat and talked while we sipped our coffee. They have added a beautiful pool and kiddie play area. Of course Freckles enjoys her romp in the gated dog park. There are doggie waste bags along the roads, so you can walk your dogs. Some sites have enclosed patios with grills, tables and all the sites have fire pits. It is just delightful to sit outside by the lake and if you like you can catch and release fish. We're looking forward to grilling outside and having a fire. Tomorrow we will be on our way but the memories will stay with us forever!

I believe the sole purpose of parks like this is to improve a child's socialization skills. As you can see from the pictures, the equipment wasn't your regular sliding board, seesaw, or swing set. The colors and the shapes of these items are to capture the child's eyes and lead to interaction. I don't know if I got any pictures, but musical instruments were place in the play area for the free spirit child. Also, there is a child museum on the grounds, which we didn't get a chance to visit, but the children had fun, and that was the goal.

Even if you don't own ANY camping gear, you could either buy it there on the spot or rent it! Everyone from the park is VERY friendly! Everyone from the park admin, to security, to Yogi himself!!! You have your kiddy playgrounds, pool, miniature golf, boats to explore the lake, fishing, golf carts equipped with off road tires to explore the grounds, cabins, and THAT'S not even mentioning all the activities they have planned for all around the clock fun such as MOVIE times with snacks, KARAOKE, and so much more that we didn't even get to check out because ALL our time was taken up with park activities! Patio doors had no locks so not a good feeling to be safe with kids on a lake. NO INTERNET AT ALL. I am not sure why they even have tv's in cabins to think it would work. Your phone hotspot won't even work there. Food was cheap but out of everything. Didn't even have sugar. The Kids activities sucked. Art class consisted of giving one sea shell and some wal-mart paint. Dance party was non-existant. Waterslide is not huge. It is just plasic down a small hill. Everything you do is an extra cost. The water park is fine if you do day pass but the price of actually staying there is not worth it. The staff (which are very younger) are actually very nice and trained to say, I'm sorry, very well. so kuddo's on that piece of customer service! PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY.

The day-use parks have picnic tables and basic facilities and some of them also have sandy beaches for swimming access. This is where I would go when wanting to grill in the backwoods and do some out door activities and relax with a few brews at hand.
