I requested a consultation for a family lawyer. I did not know that it would be limited scope representation. For that, I did not proceed with representation. Additionally, I received a phone call from the financing department and the person speaking to me kept calling me Veronica, which is not my name. I found that to be very unprofessional but could just be a genuine mistake. 3 stars are mostly for the intake and consultation I had. The intake was smooth and I was scheduled with an attorney immediately. The consultation was a great strategy session, brought new perspective and was definitely worth the $49. But as mentioned earlier I am not looking for limited scope representation. Side note is I was double charged for my consultation. The company handled this immediately and issued a refund. Updated review below Absolutely terrible. I needed a simple custody agreement and after countless phone calls explaining what the agreement was (incredibly simple agreement btw) still no progress. I won't hear anything for months and once I do reach out the whole process starts over. 6 grand for one piece of paper and I cant even get it 4 months in. I would love a refund at this point but I highly doubt that an option unfortunately. Incredible disappointing and frustrating. -Updated- After having a bad experience, the Marble team reached out to me and made everything right. I was transferred from one case manager to the other and it caused my case to fall between the cracks. As soon as the right people learned of this they brought me a few different options to rectify the situation and completely made a full 180 on the experience. My experience with the Marble team itself was a very positive experience, it was only once the case got mixed up that things turned south. Although it is disappointing it couldn't have been caught and addressed sooner, the way the process of making things right was handled made up for it. I wish I would have read the reviews first. People choose a company like this for their law needs because they offer something affordable, unfortunately you get less than what you pay for. Ultimately this feels like a SCAM, They are so responsive and quick to get you on the phone the second you seem interested but once you have signed up and give them money they disappear. I signed up with Marble in January, heard literally nothing from the first attorney assigned, was switched to a new attorney in March and still nothing. I reached out last week, the attorney responded right away and said he called and left a message (no date as to when) but I have no record of that and my phone would have this said information. My lawyer all she did was submit papers and did not represent me well in my court case. At first she made me believe our case was a good case and that we will win easy. After two court dates. Don't walk, run away from Marble Way. Marble Way will take your money as quickly as they can and do nothing in return. I have been with Marble Way for over 2 years for my divorce. The attorneys are completely incompetent, they wait until the last minute to communicate with the judge and the case keeps getting delayed. It is impossible to get any answers from Marble Way and they will pass you from attorney to attorney and never resolve your case. And each time they want more money. I had a hearing and the lawyer was sick with covid so they had another attorney take over and that attorney never finished and then they let him go. I have a trial date in June and Marble wants more money to represent me with a different attorney. I would have to start all over because they don't pass along your information between attorneys. My contemporaries already already summed up everything so I'm not giving a long detailed report on Marble. But I will touch on key points. First hired marble back in Sept. A motion to mediate was filed on October 2 the court then filed a notice of intent to dismiss on Nov 1 because for a month no work is being done. I now have another notice of intent to dismiss. They will get you to sign contract then perform unnecessary work and charge you anyway because they did the work and you signed a contract even though the work is unnecessary Lastly I could've done this at a fraction of the cost with filing same day you pay at another firm. From I originally filed my divorce last February 2023. But since hiring marble in Sept fast forward I'm still waiting for a final decree to be enter after settling in mediation back in January. DO NOT HIRE. we have had an ongoing custody case since May 2022 and it is now June 2023 and we haven't seen any action. we paid everything upfront hoping we would get something done in a decent time frame and it took them almost 8 months just to serve the other parent papers. we have been requesting a refund for 2 months and have called to ask for an update several times and you never get anyone on the phone. when you do get someone on the phone it's always "pending". we finally got someone on the phone today only to tell us we will be getting a 19$ refund after paying $2800. Marble ends up overcharging you and providing horrible service. The divorce attorney they gave me was a criminal attorney. He was horrible and didn't do everything he was paid to do. I submitted my financial discloses in July and they were not submitted to the court until Jan. He did not read them at all. Marble was also unresponsive. They said they would follow up with the attorney until they finally issued me a new attorney in February. It's been only a few short weeks since I started working with Marble and I now realize they're not looking out for your best interest, they just want your money. Please don't get involved with Marble, it will cost you a lot of stress and money. I hired them for a current divorce settlement case, which I paid for. Yesterday they wanted more money in preparation for a trial that might not happen and there is no hearing date for, as the settlement hasn't even been dealt with first. I feel confused, Marble supposedly works based on what you have going on right now and it's up to the client to determine if they will pay for additional services. Marble representatives are not nice, constantly putting words in your mouth for things you didn't even say but very quick to try to collect payment. I had a regular attorney before this but unfortunately he retired. I will definitely go back to working with a regular attorney and pay the retainer fee. It's a safer decision. I posted a review about a week ago about my negative experience with Marble Law, they gave me an option to either cancel out and pay "some fees" or request a new attorney. since they could not give me an estimate of the fees (partially understandable) I requested a transfer of attorney. Mind you I had one maybe 10-minute video call with my attorney 2 months ago, no update since then and when I finally got ahold of her, she said I needed to submit a form to get started that she had previously told me not to sign. I was told if I transferred to another attorney, I would not have to pay any extra fees which seemed better to me than paying the fees to cancel when nothing had been done for me to begin with. Today I get back from my cruise where I was not reachable by phone to fee of $2600 approx. in fees for a cancellation that I DID NOT REQUEST. Is there an option for zero stars? That's what they deserve! It's been over a year since I hired Marble Law to assist in my custody case. It has been a nightmare since the beginning. The worst experience I've ever had with ANY company! Missed scheduled appointments on their end, cancelled mediation the day of without a heads up and without a reason as to why (I still don't know why), most emails not being responded to for weeks on end, and I could go on and on. I finally was able to get someone in customer service after multiple phone calls. I asked for a cancellation. After several more phone calls, they sent me an updated contract, so more calls were made. I finally was able to get a cancellation of the contact, but they are saying they can only credit around $600 of my $3000. The only thing Marble successfully filed for me was the standard papers required to reopen a case, an Emergency Motion, and a Motion for Relief, which took 7 months to get filed due to lack of communication and mistakes about the case in the writing of the motion. The two motions were two maybe three pages and most of the same information, so there was probably a lot of copying and pasting, which does not take a lot of time. I probably spent more time calling and emailing than they spent writing up the paperwork. I paused the payments with their finance company, which they stated it was successfully paused while we try to work out the issues. After some time, I found out it was NEVER paused, and they wanted full payment of all the missed payments. They reported me to the credit bureau, so my score dropped, they charged me late payment fees, and non-sufficient funds fee when they did not have even have my bank account information. This finance company that is tied to this law firm is violating FDCPA Guidelines. I have received at least nine calls since Monday. I believe the guidelines are no more than seven calls within a seven-day period. All this even though I have made two payments within the last 3-4 weeks. Do not even contemplate hiring this firm.
