I was on the way back to Atlanta, Ga from visiting family in North Carolina when my truck's coolant hose broke off while on the highway near Blacksburg, South Carolina. Thankfully, we were a mile away from a truck stop where we were towed to Marburger CDJR. I called ahead and spoke with Megan O'Neil the service advisor. we arrived and Megan had all of my information ready and the technicians diagnosed the issue. While they didn't have the coolant hose in stock, they drove to another dealership in Fort Mill to pick up the right part. When the part arrived and the tech went to install the new hose, they realized that this hose was for a different engine type and was tool long. At this point in the day, they could not get another part in time before closing. The part was mislabeled by the manufacturer, but the dealership in Fort Mill could deliver the correct part the next day. The dealership was very apologetic and provided us with a used truck off their lot to stay with family for the night. The dealership, did not have to do this, but it was appreciated, so our family did not have to stay at a hotel and incur an additional cost for the night. The next day the part arrived and it was installed. The dealership was very professional and even washed my truck and reduced the price of the repair due to the inconvenience with the wrong part being delivered the day before. at no time did we ask for the price to be reduced or any other special requests. Megan and others went above and beyond during this situation to help our family during this ordeal. If we lived in the area, we would definitely have our truck serviced here. My family was treated with respect and decency by everyone at the dealership and in this day in age that is very rare. Thank you to everyone at Marbuger CDJR. The General Manager there was passive aggressive, he lied about numbers, and tried to add money on areas after agreements were made. He got even more aggressive after he got caught. He lost my business and another customer in the building due to his actions and poor professionalism. The other customer told me he was astounded by how I was treated and left with his wife. I do not recommend until the GM is removed. Lee the sales rep was awesome. He was the o ot reason I stayed yesterday to try to work a deal out. He was open and honest and tried to get the GM to finish the deal. read more

I have been using Marburger since moving to NC. I have been extremely satisfied with the level of service I get with my Wrangler.

If I could give this dealership zero stars. I sure would! I bought a Toyota car from this dealership (out of state) and they talk like saints when they are selling to you. After the purchase has been a different story. I got a 30 day temporary tag as usual, but when the tag gets close to expiration. I make contact with the dealership because I still couldn't get my registration done and they say they are working on the paperwork. I keep contacting them for a few weeks after the tag has done expired and still lame excuses about how they are trying to get everything worked out. I am roughly 60 days in and they still won't turn the title into the bank and I still can't get my registration done which means I am paying for a car that I can't drive! The dealership seems to care less about trying to fix the issue as they act like it is my problem and I will probably end up having to sue or return car. Don't buy a car from this place. They are scammers and I wouldn't give another cent to this place! read more

When Tim Marburger was running this dealership it seemed much better. I recently became acquainted with Chad Marburger and am unhappy about how the dealership is running now. I can't go back nor recommend it to anyone. My last 300 purchased was not prepped, stickers taken off of the windshields, etc... My friend Josh went there and bought a three-year-old used pickup truck and the transmission blew out of it in just a few weeks. He was offered little to no help at all, and Chad personally told me on the phone (I called him on behalf of my friends troubles), "I've noticed that when we do help someone it doesn't matter and they never come back again." Additional friends have stated that their repairs are high-cost, every time. Needless to say, four families in the area will now not be purchasing ever again from Marburger. I've never bought a vehicle here, so I can't comment on the sales side of this dealership, but would not recommend the service center at all. Brought a Jeep Patriot in to replace a transmission under warranty. Team took it back to replace it in a couple days and I was able to use a loaner. However, as soon as I turned the engine over when I picked it up, I noticed something was wrong, there was a bad rattling. I immediately made the engineers aware and had someone take a look at it, and he told me that it was just my old battery. I'm not much of a mechanic but I know the difference between engine problems and a low battery. They wouldn't take it back to look at the problems they introduced in the initial repair because they were too full for the week. I had to wait for a couple days and when I was able to bring it back, they refused to provide a loaner vehicle for me to use. The lack of a car prevented me from traveling to work for several days. The issue ended up being some bolts left loose from the initial repair that took a matter of minutes to fix. Had the team double checked the initial repair or taken the time to rectify it when I presented the issue, all would've been okay. Hopefully since this happened they've made changes and no other customers have experienced this much frustration over a warranty repair. read more

I recently purchased a NEW Dodge from Marburger that was delivered with a couple of dents, paint chips and a scratch despite being advised by sales it was in perfect condition on the phone( not the normal way I would buy a car but wanted I when I arrived from another state. It's a new car , what could be wrong with it). The dealership agreed to come and collect the car to have the imperfections addressed and after 2 weeks advised the dents were removed and they could send a touch up stick for me to deal with the paint problems. This kind offer was refused and after a heated conversation where the sales manager asked me" where do you think the money will come from to fix this" and " we did not make any money on this car", they agreed to repaint the areas that were impacted . After 4 weeks with Marburger the car was finally ready to pick up and the paint work checked out... I thought that was all I would need to check as this was on the only problem area when it was picked up. On the drive home I noticed that the passenger window had multiple scratches and looks like the cloth used to clean it had grit within it leaving a mess of scratches across the glass. I called as soon as I got back and was told the dealership had gone above and beyond fixing the paint on the damaged car they delivered and would do no more. New car should mean perfect first time. The sales dept might be ok, but the service dept is TERRIBLE. First off, they take half a day to do a scheduled oil change, so I stopped taking the brand new vehicle I purchased from them there for that. Secondly, the alternator went out, I scheduled a repair time for the following day and was told they'd look into having a loaner vehicle available for me. I called the next day prior to taking the vehicle there and was told that the loaner was available, someone had spoken with a manager about it the day before. So I get to Marburger, they don't have me on the books for an appt and there is no loaner vehicle. After an hour and a half of discussing, they finally put me into a loaner vehicle, only after making me wait another hour because they were "vacuuming it out." Once they handed me the key and I got into the vehicle, there was cigarette ashes all over the console. Nothing but lies from everyone there. After a few days of having the vehicle, they call to tell me that my vehicle isn't covered under the original warranty, although I had purchased the extended warranty. I told them that, and they said that the service dept wouldn't have that info!?!? Service at this location is really bad. Where do I start, I took my 2010 Dodge Challenger to Gastonia Dodge the first time when my timing belt broke and it also damaged other parts in the engine as well, lifters push rods camshaft, well Gastonia Dodge fixed it or so I thought, I had the car back about 7 months and the lifters started ticking again, so I took it back to Gastonia Dodge only to have them tell me it was going to cost me 6,000 dollars ( I'm like wow you guys put the parts in and you also charged Dodge for them, he said it was not their fault and it was collateral Damage and I could either pay to get the car fixed or I could buy a new one , so I took the car home and it sat for 2 months I called Dodge corporate and explained to Abbey what had happened and she asked me to take it back to Gastonia Dodge so I did and they told me the same thing as before but the price had went down to 4500.00 (Jay told me I could pay to fix it or buy a new car those were my options) so I told him maybe I need to contact an attorney he told me end of our conversation Have a good day (I only wanted what was right) so I called Corporate back and Abbey escalated the process she put me with Angela a very nice lady and I told her the story she wanted me to take it back to Gastonia again I told her no way was I going back there! she then said State line or Lake Norman well those would have been fine but the same person owns all 3 including Gastonia, so she told me to go to Marburger in shelby that's where I came in contact with the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, Chris in service was very informative and knowledgeable he was in contact with Angela from Dodge Corporate and they worked everything out, Chris called me on Wednesday and said my car was ready, and we picked the car up on Thursday, when I walked in Chris was there and I told him I was there to pick up the car, he told me he had a surprise for me and handed me my keys and my paperwork for the repairs I was overjoyed, Chris you and your team rock! my car will never go anywhere else but to you, Chris and Angela with Corporate both went out of their way to help me I am so Thankful to you both and Marburger Dodge it was finally a pleasant experience This dealership is one of a kind I will not stray anywhere else. Just had a terrible experience with the service department and manager. My son's Jeep Wrangler needed a new ignition switch due to the failure of the existing switch. Took it in for repair. Was informed that they "found" a broken upper steering column while repairing the switch so the amount of money to repair skyrocketed immediately. Bit the bullet because I want my son's vehicle to be safe for him to drive. After almost $1200 dollars in repairs we got our Jeep back yesterday afternoon. After getting the vehicle home my son noticed that the sway bar control link on the driver's side was broken. We just replaced both control links less than a month ago. So we go back to the dealership where we are directed to the manager with our issue. I made sure he understood the part was not broken when the vehicle was brought in for the other repairs and he refused to make the situation right by repairing the control link. So they break a part while repairing the vehicle and will not do the right thing and repair the part they broke. I will never do business with Marburger Dodge again and strongly encourage everyone else to stay away as well. Update: After all of this drama Marburger called the parts house where the control link came from and the parts house is delivering a new control link to the dealership. The dealership is going to replace the part at no cost. So all of this could have been taken care of really easily, without all of the drama and this review would not have been necessary and as a matter of fact it would have probably been a good review, except for the large cost of the original repairs. I recently went into Marburger dealership to take in my Dodge Durango due to a factory recall on issues with the steering wheel. I had no intentions of getting a new car. The sales lady Sha Barnes, came over to inquire if I would like to trade up. To make a long story short I ended up with a Jeep Compass practically brand new. I don't know how it happened or what manner of sorcery they are working with in that dealership. This coming from an Luciferian Sorceress. By far the most pleasant experience I have ever experienced in purchasing a vehicle, the transaction was so smooth that I got home and rushed back to the dealership two hours later, to rescind the paperwork. Per the law in NC there is no cooling off period and when you sign on the dotted line it is yours. I was in a daze I could not believe I was approved for a vehicle must less the type of vehicle I got with the payments. I didn't even do a ritual, I did however say a few weeks back it sure would be nice to get a new vehicle, so the Goddess was listening. Excellent customer service, none traumatic buying experience. They listened to what I could afford as a payment, did not pressure me to taking something I could not afford and in the end, I was beyond pleased albeit still in a daze. read more

Took my 07 Dodge Charger in to have my ABS Module programmed. I had already diagnosed and replaced it, it just had to be hooked up to the dealer scan tool/computer to be reprogrammed to my vehicle. Everyone was nice and told me that it would be $115 (1 Hour Minimum) to reprogram it. The tech brought the car back around 15-20 minutes later with a thumbs up and said everything worked. The service adviser gave me the bill which was $136.50 (I thought that seemed a little high for the taxes but I was just happy to have the car fixed after almost a year of dealing with the issue so I didn't argue.) I paid and left but on the way home I remembered that I didn't ask them to check the Map/Dome lights in my car while they had the computer hooked up. (I believe there is a setting for my particular vehicle that has been turned off so that the lights don't come on when the doors open). I returned to the dealership and talked to the male service adviser the very next day and told him I forgot to have them check for that setting while they had the computer hooked up and asked if there was any way that they could hook it back up and just check to see if that setting was in the computer or not. He said they would have to charge me the full hour minimum again ($115) just to check and that I would be responsible for that regardless if they could do anything or not. Now I was just there the day before with a simple fix that took them 15-20 minutes to fix and paid them $136.50 so I asked them if they could help me out a little because if I had remembered the problem the day before I would have still been within the hour minimum and would not have been charged any more than I was. The "Service Adviser" said quote, " did you get what you wanted yesterday? and I of course said yes. and he replied, "ok then now you need to pay the hr minimum again to have this looked at". I explained that wasn't good business practices and if I had waited 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years to come back I would understand but I was just there the day before and truly just forgot to have them check while they had it hooked up. I didn't want it done for free, I would have paid the time it took but not an hour when tops it would take 10 minutes to look through the settings. The other service adviser, Erin, agreed that if I had remembered the day before that I wouldnt have been charged that much and said it was out of her hands that she would have to ask the tech. She did come out and tried to look at the vehicle to see if maybe i had overlooked a simple switch or something. She didnt find anything and said she would ask the tech on Monday if there was such a setting in the car. He was out. I returned on Monday to see if she had asked the technician and she wasn't there. The male from the previous days was there and seemed to be less than pleased to see me come in. I told him she was supposed to ask and he started typing a ticket up. I told him before he went through with all that I just wanted him to ask if it was even a programmable option and he pretty much ignored me. While he was working I noticed on my receipt from the previous trip that the reason the price went from $115 to $136.50 was that they charged me a $13.xx Misc. Charge and told me nothing about it and tax was just over $7. I asked him what that Misc. charge was and he said that's the shop charge and it covers things like shop rags and even down to the receipt paper that you're holding. That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard. First of all they should have told me that up front not just sneak it in without mentioning it at all. Second of all what he is talking about is called overhead for the business. Not something the customer should be paying a separate hidden fee for.But again, I kind of laughed and bit my tongue. The service tech went back and asked the technician the wrong question and returned to tell me that the tech said it was a separate issue and that he was not willing to do it without me paying the minimum. I tried to explain that wasn't the question i wanted him to ask and he wouldn't listen so i asked for a manager. The service tech literally threw his hands up and got so agitated that he could barely utter a sentence. He tried to talk over me and tell the manager how I didn't understand that it was a separate issue. The manager basically seemed to have no idea what he was talking about because he changed his story 2 or 3 times. He also didn't know what the Misc charge was from the first visit and told me it was the quote, "tax on the tax". He did, however, understand the question I wanted to ask the tech so he did. The tech said it was not a programmable feature, but i believe that to be untrue. I explained this could have been much easier had the first adviser just listened to my question I would have been ok that the issue was not a programmable feature rather than having an attitude. No apology was offered and they seemed to not care. read more

They sold me a truck after I told them the tow weight I needed to tow my R.V. They said it was able to tow it. They were told several times to provide me the info telling me it would pull it. They never provided this information. The night I purchased it I did my homework and found it to be well over a 1000 lbs less than what I needed to tow. I made them aware of this and they stated they would make it right. Hours and hours went by and nothing was being done to find a truck I needed. Finally they came out with a truck that would but was thousands of dollars more and they were NOT willing to deal even though THEY made the mistake. After being at the dealerships for over 5 hours I asked for our trades back and they stated NO YOU ARE NOT GETTING THEM BACK, YOU MADE THE MISTAKE OF BUYING THIS TRUCK. Long story short we finally had to buy a truck we could not afford due to them not attempting to help us find a truck in our price range. Several other dealers around had the truck but they did nothing to find help! Dodge is now handling this situation and hopefully Red letters will be sent to the owner detailing the information above. Please don't make the mistake I made and trade with these people. After they made the mistake, they were still only interested in $$$$ and not the fact we could not afford the only truck of 2 they provided for us to buy. Basically we were told take this truck or get back into the truck that would not handle our camper, which would have been unsafe for us due to the tow weight difference. Never was we given the chance to get out of a deal they made under false information. If only they would have come to us and said give us a few days we will find you something. But instead they forcefully stated you will not get cars back and the deal on table is the only one we have. That was my understanding at the time I have asked several times for the General Manager to contact me but my phone has remained silent! read more

Have had two different factory recalls on an 08 Charger. Both times have been told the parts are in and on hand for the recall repairs. Have taken off work each time to get vehicle to dealership. BOTH times when I have arrived for the scheduled service I have been told the parts aren't there. The parts seem to mysteriously disappear from the initial calls for verification until arrival for service. No communication between Parts and Service. Customer has to spend their time calling between the two places to get work initiated. As a consolation for wasting your time they offer a free oil change, which is little compensation in my opinion for having to now miss another day from work to get vehicle back when/if the parts ever do come in. Cant speak for Sales. Just hope you don't require Service if you do purchase a vehicle there as it is pitiful. Shelby would be a great place for a real Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership. read more
