Dr Hertz, is a special caring oral surgeon. With over 30 years experience, the Dr is a true expert in his field. Dr Hertz extracted "4" wisdom teeth today from my 16 yr old daughter in under 40 mins. My daughter had no pain and is recovering wonderfully. The entire procedure was explained to us clearly step by step. The Dr relieved my daughter of any nervousness and the procedure was super smooth. I will tell the public that this Dr is one of kind. Incredibly kind and very skilled surgeon. Made me feel very comfortable by explaining everything that needed to be done clearly. He came in earlier than normal to accommodate my schedule, which was so nice of him. The wisdom teeth extraction went better than I could have hoped. Dr. Hertz was amazing! He removed 2 of my wisdom teeth yesterday and the experience was great. I came to the visit very anxiously, since my previous experience 10 years ago with another doctor was terrible. But this time it was so very different. Dr. Hertz and his assistant were extremely professional and answered all my questions and went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. Dr. Hertz's personality and attitude is truly one of a kind. The actual procedure was done to perfection. It was almost over before it started. I have known this office for almost 8 years now. I have taken my wisdom tooth out right after I had a baby. As scared as I was assuming I might be in yet another pain (just labor was more than enough) Dr. Hertz made the whole experience so swift I barely remember there being any pain at all. Right before surgery, He simply asked already knowing my answer, Do you want something strong? I said strong enough not to feel the pain but not that strong to harm baby who would be nursed after. During the whole procedure everything was narrated so I am fully aware, there was no pain I was shocked feeling silly as to why on earth would I over think following assumptions. He showed care, superior knowledge, cracked up gazillion jokes in the process,but his focus and confidence never left his actions. My recovery was super fast, I felt discomfort only the first day. Did not even take pain meds 2nd day. Not so many years later I surely brought my first daughter when she turned 5, she is 8 now but loves this place and laughs with Dr Hertz everytime she comes with her younger sister. Both had x-rays taken here, both had at least 2 teeth taken out by Dr. Hertz. They have been to other dentists but got so scared that they only want Dr. Hertz to do all related teeth necessities. This is a horror story. Please gird yourself. My daughter who suffers from anxiety had terrible tooth pain. She went to our wonderful local dentist, who took her in right away, and said that her 2 wisdom teeth have to be pulled. He called office of Dr. MB Hertz and then said that he was told that they are waiting for us. I picked up my daughter from our local dentist's office & drove to the office of this oral surgeon immediately. I dropped her off and went looking for parking. No kidding ... circled for over 30 minutes , and couldn't find a spot. Tried calling the office of the above (about 10:30am) and no one picked up! Imagine a surgeon's office and no one picks up the phone during business hours! There was a message though: "Please leave your name & number, and message & we'll call you back in 20 MINUTES... if we don't call you in 20 minutes.... TRY AGAIN! I did. A few times. Same message. My daughter did not have a cell phone. Bottom line my daughter waited for over 3 1/2 hours and no one saw her. In the early PM a secretary came in & picked up the phone. I asked if my daughter was seen: "no , not yet! " I quickly drove over, parked 4 blocks away, walked in the 90 degree weather to pick her up , never to return to this horrible place. Brought my young daughter in for a double extraction as I was concerned that she wouldn't sit still for the procedure. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Hertz. I recently passed my nursing boards so I'm currently unemployed and on Obamacare. While eating a sandwich my wisdom tooth cracked, my current dentist (who I paid cash) doesn't pull wisdom teeth so I had to find an oral surgeon. I spend 4 HRS (!!!!) calling different dentists within my network, either they didn't pick up, were nasty, left me on hold for 20 min, needless to say I was feeling helpless. The last dr I called was Dr. Hertz. Right off the bat his receptionist was amazing, she told me they take my ins., but i needed a referral, I asked how I would go about doing that, she immediately told me "don't worry, i'll take care of that." They didn't have an apt for 2 weeks, but she squeezed me in since it was a cracked wisdom tooth, I literally started crying on the phone thanking her for all her help. When I got to the office, the same thing, they were all incredibly nice. The dr himself was amazing. He explained every, single, solitary step of the procedure. He showed me my x-ray and explained what he thought would be best for me, explained the risks and outcomes and asked what I wanted to do. I only needed one tooth pulled, but I decided to do both the top and bottom. I was sooooo nervous. He asked me if I wanted to listen to music and brought his laptop in the room and I said I don't care what he put on as long as it was soothing. He turned on Adele lol and I asked if this would be over before the song was.... it was!!!! He gave me Versed IV to calm me, which hit in 0.5 seconds, numbed me and in 2 seconds me teeth were out!!!!!! He sat with me after and explained the aftercare, gave me scripts, and a printout of everything he told me. The print out even had his cell # on it in case there were complications during after hours. I would completely recommend him, in about 2 weeks I'm going back to get the other 2 pulled out. read more

I went to see Dr. Hertz on the recommendation of my dentist (Dr. Rosenkranz) for the extraction of 2 impacted wisdom teeth, 1 fully descended wisdom tooth and 1 failed root canal. For those looking for a oral surgeon Marc Hertz is it. I am going to tell you why. I have had this issue with my ear infections that kept coming back and this has been going on for almost 6 months. My ENT doctor couldn't figure out what it was I had to go through MRI's and an allergy tests and a hearing test. Then they came back and told me that it looks like you have TMJ. I'm like what!? How can this be? They kept telling me oh it sometimes come with age? (SMH) It got to the point my ENT doctor said I can't do anything more for you because he doesn't deal with jaw issues. At this point frustration was out the door! He told me to go back to my dentist or see an oral surgeon. So I had to call my insurance and they gave me a list of names. This is where Marc B. Hertz came into the picture. What I did first I googled him! Lol I wanted to view his reviews to see what I will be dealing with next. I decided to make an appointment because my gum area and my molars were so super sensitive and I was already having abscess on my molars. Yes I googled that too and it turns out I want to fix this asap. I made an appointment with Mr. Hertz and I have to say my first visit was very pleasant. I saw that Mr. Hertz was very busy so I waited till it was my turn. As soon as I went in the room he was so nice w/ smiles to greet me. I know that he saw fear and frustration on my face. I continued to tell him my issue, to make a long story short this visit of course was just to check my situation, it wasn't my actual appointment. After telling him we proceeded to get a full mouth x-ray. In a matter of minutes he came in w/ my x-ray sat down and showed me on the screen what the problem was. I was like OMG!! he already saw the issue and continued to tell me that my molars lost some bone mass and they were sinking down into my gum that is why they looked grey on the x-ray. That is why I was getting the abscess on my molars. I was so relieved to know what the problem was. He then explained to me that I can have them extracted or seek to save my molars. In this case I was like I don't want issues anymore and I also red root canals have more problems!! No way do I want anymore pain. I decided to have them pulled out!! Continued with my appointments and I have to say Dr. Hertz was gentle, kind, very excellent to explain thoroughly in great detail what the issues are and how the extraction process takes place. I have never ever met a doctor who really cares!! This man loves his profession to really help people in pain. Ever since I got my molars pulled out I'm Good!! You're in good hands with this man who is an angel to help you through your pain!!! I would recommend him to the world!! Especially when we all know a lot of doctors are about the paycheck or don't have any bed side manners to help you. I'm just keeping it real!! Dr Marc Hertz is your oral surgeon you won't be discourage at all. Do know tho he does get booked because he is that good. But stick w/ him. We received high recommendations for Dr. Hertz, but my daughter was still apprehensive about the process. Yet, as soon as Dr. Hertz walked into the office, we knew we were in excellent hands. Watching him treat his patients was like watching a magician at work. He put my daughter at ease kindly, quickly and efficiently. I went to this dentist to get my upper right molar wisdom tooth extracted. The receptionist had called and originally canceled on me i think a couple hours prior. I explained I took off work and cant just not be seen especially with a couple hours notice. I was told Dr. Hertz was not feeling well and that was the reason. I asked them if there was any way to be seen because I would not be able to wait until Monday to be seen just due to work not letting me take off. They called me back within an hour and told me to come in. When i walked in the office, it looked very dated, like they haven't caught up with the times of modern dental offices. Anyways the wait wasn't too long, no issues with insurance. The dental assistance was informative and answered all my questions. When i saw Dr.Hertz he did look sick, like he had a fever so I guess it was true. Anyway he answered my questions and explained the process and such. Like i said, their equipment looked dated but it got the job done with minimal pain. I dont know if i was put to sleep but I remember being awake when the tooth was removed. Honestly i didn't feel much pain. I did explain to them that local anesthesia wasn't that effective on me when it came to if i felt pain, so maybe they gave me some extra shots, who knows. He prescribed me some meds, and i was out in less than 2 hours i think. I question the method he used to take my tooth out as it was kinda preyed off using the dental tool, which none of m previous extraction were like, but i felt very minimal pain, and the recovery process went smooth. read more

There was a miscommunication at first but after I left a voice mail the doctor himself call me back during his holiday to apologize to me and was very accommodating to my schedule for my rescheduled appointment. I was called the day before and the day of my appointment to confirm my appointment and to be given instructions on what to do before my appointment. When I arrived to the office it's was very quite and clean. I did not have a long wait time. When it was my turn to see the doctor he made me feel very comfortable. Before anything started he explained how the process would go and all the risk of the surgery. He also explained to me the benefits of taking out the top and bottom tooth instead of just the bottom tooth. The doctor and staff was very gentle and caring. When I was done the doctor walked me outside and downstairs to my car to meet my friend to make sure I got down the stairs safely. This past Fall, I went to Dr. Hertz for a consultation and he recommended a tooth extraction; however, it would take a few weeks before my next appointment since I had to obtain a referral. Shortly after, I received a letter from my health insurance indicating my coverage would end within the next week because I no longer qualified. They were at least able to process my referral faster because I explained I couldn't afford to pay thousands of dollars for this procedure. I called Dr. Hertz immediately and explained the situation and that I needed to be seen within the next week before my coverage ended. He went above and beyond to help me. He was overbooked during that week (due to holidays) so he went as far as coming in on a Saturday night to do my procedure - there was another patient there too. I got my tooth extracted (which had been a problem for years) this past September and haven't had a single issue since. I took my mom to Dr. Hertz, after her general dentist was having trouble extracting a tooth. And I'd like to say, there are still excellent doctors around. The hard part is finding them. He is such a kind and caring person. From start to finish, he is thorough as to what needs to be done. And what he will do. This puts a tremendous comfort on a patient that is nervous. As we all are going to the dentist. If anyone tells you that extracting teeth is pain free, is clearly lying to you. All extractions hurt, some more than others. It all depends on the location of the tooth. Whether it is infected or not. Or how deep the roots are. However, if you need a tooth pulled, it is what it is. I think the most important thing is not the pain, but the trust you have in your doctor. That, although you might have some pain. It is quick, short lasting, and extremely limited. My mom is 72, and after her procedure, she told me that if she ever needs any other teeth pulled. She wants Dr. Hertz to do it. He is an oral surgeon, and to be honest, I'd rather have a surgeon extract my tooth than any general dentist. After all, extracting teeth is considered minor surgery. And things can go wrong. Hence, why a lot of dentists are starting to refer their patients to oral surgeons. I highly recommend Dr. Hertz to anyone that needs an oral surgeon. I hope after your visit you say, wow! Things got off to a rocky start as his assistant didnt show up for work and so he had to call in his wife (a former assistant) who drove in an hour away. despite this, he was one of the best dentists i've ever had.
