Wow, other than fair prices (would not say discounted heavily), it's chaos. Couldn't find crackers I was looking for but was pointed to about 3 different isles. Light or multigrain, no regular. Sour cream only light. They have variety seasonal merchandise, beer & wine, all the departments are just scattered. I don't think I have ever given a 1 to a grocery store. They do carry brand names but just not favorable varieties. Check out was quick and cashier was friendly (this is why they got 1). read more

This review is for the Deli Department. I am Always Shopping at this deli and I just have to shout about the Awesome Service I received from "Cameron"! I am Not related in anyway nor have I met him prior to Marc's store. Husband always takes his ham sandwiches with Lacey Swiss, sliced thin. Cameron placed paper between the slices!! How pleasant to get a Slice without me having to repack the order:) Yeah, I Know, this should be done All the Time. However, it's not! I Believe in Compliments and wanted to share. Was at the BOARDMAN store on 1-2-2021. Employees are supposed to wear a mask. Both the cashier and the older man who was bagging the groceries wore their masks below the nose. The guy bagging the groceries barely had his above his mouth. With the Omicron variant being as contagious as it is , I'll never go back to Marc's. read more

My friends and I are from Southern California and in most stores it's not up to par in organized goods. since moving here to Struthers Ohio, I find a cool store that has seasonal, a Once in a While item, my goodness! I read where people are dissatisfied by appearance; instead, look for a Treasure hunt of goods and prices!! Stop complaining and comparing but grab what your able to within a short time, oh, hey, don't forget the groceries section and produce; those stocking and purchasing deserve a fine word! and, the check out.... kind, courteous and polite..... read more

My father always raves about this place. Always tells me that he is taking a trip to this area to visit this store. Constantly telling me to visit it and stock up on items here. Well I did finally make my way here, and sorry Dad, but I wasn't as blown away by this place as you are. To me, it's nothing more than a mash up of stores. Take a grocery store, drugstore, and a cheap discount chain and push it into a space. I walked around in here expecting to be able to find enough items to fill up a cart, in reality, I only filled up a basket. I appreciate the selection of items that aren't available in such stores located within the Pennsylvania border, but not enough to make return trip after return trip. The most baffling of all things that I encountered in here was when I went to pay. Nothing posted in regards to this, and it angered not only me, but people behind me. When you go to pay, and you want to use your debit/check card, forget it. That is unless you have Discover on it. In my many run-ins with making payments at stores, I have never come across a debit/check card that has a Discover logo on it. Why even have those payment screens there. Luckily I had cash on me, but I suppose there is an ATM on premise if you needed to hurry up and get cash out. Even though it will in convenience the people behind you. Awful + infinity! Pretty much consistent with what everyone else has already said the store is dirty, inconveniently located, and only takes Discover card - and um yeah that makes sense! This place is a trap. Make life easier and go to Giant Eagle instead. read more

I love the Austintown Marc's but live closer to the Boardman store. I was out that day to purchase some petunias...they had a purple and yellow mixed that I thought after a month would look beautiful...I noticed off the bat before purchasing it said "no returns"...what if it had a plant disease or something...the price was a little high for them..more than one I purchased at lowe's...it's a month later and the l owe's plant is absolutely Beautiful!! The two plants I purchased from Marx's started to die slowly the day after I hung them in my front yard...I'm gonna put them on the curb for trash pickup...they look absolutely terrible...I'll never buy any floral from them ever again...I gave them 2 stars cause I love shopping at the Austintown Marc's...they could of at least offered an exchange... read more

I'm fuming right now! I purchase a tube of Maybelline concealer for $8. When I opened it it smelled horrible and it was a sticky mess it wouldn't even go on at all. I brought it to Marc's with the receipt within 4 days of purchasing it. The lady a customer service says it is their policy not to return makeup. I said I wanted to talk to the manager and waited over 5 to 8 minutes for him to show up. She had to call him again so while I waited I said is this posted anywhere so that people know that you're not allowed to return makeup? She told me it was posted in the makeup section. I got tired of waiting and told her I learned my lesson I will never buy makeup from them again. I went straight to the makeup section where I found no sign saying you could not return makeup. $8 down the drain! read more

Prices here are fantastic, and they have a wide selection of everything. The low prices are what give this store 2 stars instead of 1. There are ALWAYS mile long lines with no organization. There are usually only 3 or so cashiers open. They do not take visa. How could they not take visa!? It's 2013! Skip this one unless you are extremely patient and don't mind crowds. read more

Went grocery shopping on Sunday. Spent 321.00 got home found that I was charged 47.99 for a 4.99 closeout. Called Mgr. Tim. Told me to come in the next day when he was there. Never said sorry. Nothing. Went the next day to service desk. Older woman w short hair waited on me. Boy she must have been having a bad day!!! She was so rude to me. Never apologized . Acted like I was bothering her. I cannot believe she works at customer service. Like Mgr like employee. So inconvenienced for there mistake !!! read more

One time, my boyfriend and I came in to buy some candy for our at-home movie night. We picked up maybe $4 worth of candy and went to check out. We were told that I couldn't use my MasterCard and I didn't have any cash on me (same with my boyfriend) so we were told to wait while she "got her manager" which ended up taking 7 minutes so for that time we just stood there staring at eachother, this lady making us hold up the line for other customers. As soon as the "manager" came over to us, she told us to go to the customer service desk which I'm assuming was where they could use my card or direct me to an ATM or hold my candy until I could get $4 dug out from my change purse. We ended up waiting in that line for 10 minutes all while some guy came in and decided to make copies of a key which was conveniently located next to the customer service desk. So while I'm standing there annoyed, the loud shrieking of the machine is going off. Finally we got to the desk and told the lady working the situation. All she ended up doing was she told us the same thing, that we couldn't use our MasterCard. I got so mad that I pushed the $4 worth of candy back at her and said we won't be needing that anymore. My boyfriend and I angrily walked out and took our service to Walmart where the candy was cheaper AND they took any kind of card. What made me the most frustrated was that Marc's didn't have any kind of sign that stated what cards we could or couldn't use, so how was I supposed to know I couldn't use my card? Very very frustrating and a huge waste of my time. read more

Great prices on grocery items...takes only cash or Discover card. The store is dirty though. My wife has seen cleaner bathrooms at truck stops. She says job johns are probably a better option than having to use this bathroom. Employees and customers use the same restroom...so the people handling the meats and cheeses in the deli have also been in contact with the cess-pool of a bathroom. And it's not just occasionally, it's all the time. read more

The store in Boardman Marc's takes debit and credit cards not just discover or cash or check. Maybe you need to check it out. How much have you complained to the manager about the bathrooms. Silence is not golden, speak up and have your say. They would have to have a full time staffer to keep the bathrooms clean, people can be slobs when it's not something they have to clean up. Maybe they need to take away customer privilege of bathroom facilities. Get in your car and ck out the other Marc' stores ( they are everywhere ) maybe there needs to be some clarification on this matter with upper management.. Step up to the plate and do your part. Oh! Outside facilities . Wow! That would just set more people off. Instead of complaining, do your part as a customer, and make your voice heard with UPPER MANAGEMENT. Go to GE and shop and pay your higher prices and then think your getting a break at their gas pump. Do your homework. Maybe someone needs to monitor all the grocers in a 50 mile radius, ck out the foods other grocers carry and comment on what's Healthy to eat. We are in an age where we can't control big business, SOON you won't be able to read the ingredients on the labels without a smart phone, unless the law is changed before the end of 2017, complaining about bathrooms is minor compared to what's is and has been happening to our food chain. read more
