My son and I love going to movies together, and its exceptionally affordable on Tuesdays for only $5 a ticket. I always have a good time at the theatre. I hope someday to see my sunshine on the big screen! I'm not sure if he still has interest, but he once wanted to be an actor! I was planning on signing him up with the paramount theatre in downtown, but he moved away. He is so handsome he will make it on the big screen if he wants. The snacks here are expensive, but the popcorn is worth it and the larges allow a refill that we usually took home as one huge thing of popcorn is more than enough to get a person or two maybe even three through a 90 minute movie. All together we spent $82 on tickets and we were barred from entering the theater because apparently you need to be 25 to bring minors to an R rated movie. Rude service and overall bad experience. We watched two good movies while we visited from California. You have a nice facility. We liked how as a couple you have couple seating.

My mother and I went here for her birthday, and I have to say, I was not all that impressed. We went to a 2:30pm showing of a movie. The ticket prices were outrageous. Mine was 10 and some change. My mother's ticket(Senior discount) was $8 and some change. I'm sorry, last I heard a matinee movie was a bit cheaper, and if that was discounted, wow, I am ashamed. Definitely not worth the price. My mother and I also got some snacks. She has a pop corn and I had a soda. Those were expensive as well, but that I expected, regardless of the movie theater, snacks are usually more expensive then they should be. We get to our theater, and I know everyone is talking about how the seats recline, believe me that is something I like about the movies now, however, this theaters seats are smaller than AMC theater seats. I felt like I was oozing out of the seat. I'm a little bit of a bigger lady, and I wasn't comfortable. The ladies bathroom hasn't changed in décor or smell in 10+ years. which is definitely concerning for how much money they are making with the extremely overpriced tickets. Overall the experience with my mom for her birthday was fun, but the rest was crappy. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Rather go to the twin cities, look up an AMC or any other theater and pay less money, and get a trip to the cities out of it. Kind of sad how the cities theaters are cheaper. read more

Food, candy, and drinks are incredibly expensive. One drink and candy cost $15. My 3 person party spent a total of $92. One of the employees also very clearly was inconvenienced by us buying stuff. Wouldn't go here for a movie it's worth the extra drive to a different franchise. read more

The pizza was very nasty . Soda selection very limited less than 12 . Popcorn smell burnt . Chairs were slimy . Not great customer service . Very warm inside building almost hotter than outside . AKA Parkwood 17! Parkwood 17 was once Parkwood 18 but throughout the years, it has been the theater where go to catch the newest flicks. I remember the old layout and how much fun I had while going to the movies when I was a tween, but the layout of Parkwood 17 nowadays, makes sense for the business and they are still just as busy as they always have been. I would suggest enrolling in their rewards program! The person working at the front desk always offers it, and the card is completely free. You earn points every single time you buy a movie ticket and the points eventually get you free food at the concession stands and even food/drinks in Zaffiro's! The staff here is always welcoming and I feel at home when I am at this movie theater. They work hard to keep it in tip top shape. The new/roomier theater seats in some of the theaters and the ability to pick your seat on a computer screen upon entering is dandy! These were great additions to the theater! Their selection at concession's includes every snack that a movie theater should have. They nail it when it comes to popcorn. Something about that buttered popcorn smell that always gets me. The popcorn is always perfectly buttered (I watched the guy butter the popcorn, and their technique is brilliant) and warm. I love their Icees too. As for the restaurant attached to the theater, I haven't actually had their pizza in a number of years. However, their thin crust is delightful from what I remember. Note: You can bring pizza, drinks (alcoholic/non-alcoholic), and other food orders into the theaters with you! Their movie themed drinks are to die for. I've tried everything from the Jurassic Park themed drink to Captain America to the Dark Knight...those bartenders make lovely drinks! read more

The Marcus Parkwood 18 is your only option for movie going in St. Cloud. On the plus side, you can order food and drinks at Zaffiro's and enjoy them in the theater, or you can go out for dinner before or after your movie without having to get into the car and go somewhere else. That's nice. For the most part, the theaters are decent, when they're kept clean. The luxury seats are pretty nice, though it's rare that the movie you want to see is being shown in that theater. The prices here are much too high, unless you come on a Tuesday, or Thursday (if you're a student), when they are $5. I wish you didn't have to sit through 20-30 minutes of advertising before your film. They should be paying you to sit through that. read more

Took my daughter out for a movie date today. Her ticket was over $8 (child price) and mine was $13. Plus another $20 on popcorn, 1 drink and some M&Ms... that's an expensive date. I enjoy the new comfy lounger seats but the bathrooms could use cleaning and the pricing should be cheaper! However they do offer kids series on the weekends at $3 admission and on Tuesdays $5 admission for all. read more

I hate that this movie mega-plex ignores independent flicks in favor of showing exclusively mainstream blockbusters. But on the plus side most of the theaters have been remolded and have nice leather couch like seats or reclining stadium seats. And with the recent opening of Zaffiro's Pizzeria & Bar you can now order beer, wine, and pizza to bring in with you to the show. And let's be honest if you realize how much money you forked over for the tickets, 3-D upgrade, popcorn, and junior mints you are going to need at least one beer. TIP: They do have a $2 Tuesday Popcorn/Pop Special and select movies for $5 on Wednesdays and Thursdays if you sign up for their weekly email. read more

The new remodel is great. Prices are reasonable, the bringing a drink into the movie is a great perk but the biggest thing this feature adds? First date one-stop location. Think about it. You can have a cocktail, see a movie and then get a meal to discuss after. It's the biggest knock against movies on first dates-you don't get to talk to each other. By having a location to elongate the experience, it lowers the awkwardness. Some kinks have to be wrinkled out of this place, despite the fantastic restaurant combo. We bought tickets online and went to the ATM to get our printed tickets. After doing so, we simply walked into the movie! No one stopped us or checked our tickets. We eventually went back to the front to get our 3D glasses, but even then, I just brought my one ticket. If I was a college student or a film major, I'd watch films for free all the time. They need to get on that. Maybe more paying customers will lower the price of popcorn. Maybe. read more

I have not been here for a few years but went last night! They have remodeled and it turned out really well! It's definitely the more spendy movie theatre in the area but they have such a nice selection! After dropping $70 for a movie night here last night we will definitely look into the cheap days.. Tuesday's are $5 so that would be an option! I'm rating a 3 instead of 4 due to the prices.. That's crazy! read more

It's the only movie theater in the St. Cloud area, so I guess I can't complain. However, I'm going to anyway. There's nothing really wrong with this place, but it's pretty run-down. They're currently in the middle of a renovation, but I suspect it won't really spruce it up that much. Aesthetically, it's consistent with its surroundings, which should tell you something. In Waite Park, even the movie theater looks like a strip mall. I am optimistic about this pizza place that's supposed to be opening up inside the theater, only because it's got the word "bar" attached to its name. Get a couple of beers in my before my movie and I might be singing a much happier tune about the Parkwood 18. read more

The superscreen and luxury suites are excellent and worth the cost. Unfortunately, the other screens are outdated, low quality, and theaters are dirty. Concessions are so outrageously priced you get the sense that the owners hate their customers and have lost any sense of value or a square deal. On top of that, the staff is bland, slow as molasses, and sloppy in their presentation. Don't bother with the restaurant attached to the theater. It's terrible. read more

We have been coming to Parkwood every few weeks to watch a movie and have been impressed with the remodeling they have been doing. It looks really nice and clean. The theater seats are very comfortable - feel like you sink into them, very cushy! They also rock back and forth which was something new - for me at least. They also now have a pizza place attached that serves the best pizza in St. Cloud. Worth the trip even without a movie. The service at the theater is okay, but nothing to get real excited about. Never had any bad service, just never had any good service either. My only complaint is the restrooms. You would think that with what had to be a multi-million dollar remodel that they could have spent just a bit of that on restrooms. They are all tiny and just kinda ho-hum compared to the rest of the remodel. But at least they have a few restrooms scattered around, so you don't have one that the whole theater is trying to use. Overall I really like this theater and of course will definitely come back. read more

I went to this theater two days ago and used the newer headsets they provide for the hard of hearing. Five minutes into the movie the set totally quit working. I took it back to the counter and was given a different set. Only one side of the two ear pieces worked on that set. To avoid missing more of the movie and disrupt the two friends I was with, I just watched the movie anyway, holding the one operable side of the ear piece tight to my one ear. After the movie, I told the manager about the hearing device not working and he thanked me. The previous time I was at the theater, the hearing device did not work at all and the problem was not solvable for that movie. There was a bigger "connection" problem. At the least the manager on duty at that time gave me a free pass to use at a later date. When a paying customer does not get what they pay for, compensation is the least that can be done. It should have been offered when I went two days ago. read more

I have been using this theater for 8 years. In the past two years they have made it more and more difficult to see a movie. Assigned seating doesn't allow you to chose who you will sit next to because you chose blindly. Now they have made finding their movie listings difficult. One used to be able to see the movies instantly on the first web search page, but now you have to go to their website. You have to wade through their ads to find the listings, and sometimes the listings don't load. read more

I'm pretty happy with this movie theatre! I'm from California, so I'm used to high prices at the movies, but it's the exact same price ($11) as it is in San Francisco, and commercial real estate prices are much much higher, so this theatre must be raking in the cash. That said, I gladly signed up for the rewards card and will take advantage of the Monday $5 specials, for sure! What's cool too, is free refills on large sodas and soon they are having movie marathon days where you can watch all the Oscar-nominated films back-to-back on 2 Saturdays. This is the only movie theatre in st cloud. The leather seats that recline are great if it isnt 100 degrees in the theatre. When asking about what was going on, I was told that the air conditioner in the theatre is broken and that I would just have to deal with it. It might be fixed soon. Poor service, severely understaffed and over priced. Waiting in line for a half hour is ridiculous! Bathrooms are disgusting! Toilets overflowing, garbage piled up as high as the garbage can. For the price of tickets this is unbelievable. read more

$5 Tuesdays with a free small popcorn. Same deal for students on Thursdays. Now 3D is only a dollar more those days. Watched Star Wars in the reclining movie loungers and my wife and I are never ever going back to boring seats! Really nice! The remodel did a great job and it is clean and very updated. The seats were comfortable, the staff friendly, and we enjoyed ourselves. It's neat to have a restaurant added to the movie theatre. The prices are a little expensive ($7.50 for a matinee) but overall, we were pleased with our experiences. read more

I have lived in the St. Cloud area for a little over two years now and I love going to the movies. This theater is really starting to make me hate it though. The positives: I like that I can skip the line and (most of the time) use the kiosks to get my tickets. I enjoy their rewards program. It's free and for how often I go to the theater, it's nice to get a free $5 ticket or have a drink mostly paid for. I also like that all the theaters have the reclining seats, makes for a much more comfortable visit! Especially since the old seats were cramped with little leg room. That was definitely an improvement. Negatives: I have never been helped by a friendly worker. In fact several of the box office people have been downright rude. When I want concessions, the lines are always long and slow moving. It never fails that they have only two people ringing people up and four other people behind the counter doing things that don't help the lines move faster (like sweeping or Ive even seen them just standing around by their back room door). What grosses me out is that the same person that is dishing out the popcorn is also taking cards and cash, with no hand-washing or gloves in between. I have stopped getting anything but drinks from them for this reason. It made it easy because their popcorn always tasted burnt anyway (I don't even get it when it's free on Tuesday's!). They need to pay for attention to the cleanliness of their self serve drink station too. It's always sticky and gross. I know they have downtime to clean in between rushes but I know that the only stand around playing on their phones during that time! And my next complaint isn't exactly the theaters fault, but I wish they would do a better job controlling it. Sooo many of the customers use their phones during the theater or are disruptive in other ways. Most of them are college kids, but not all of them! It's all of these reason that I've been going out of town to see movies. I enjoy seeing movies so much that driving 30 minutes to another theater is worth it to me. So unless I can make time to see a movie in the early morning showings, I just don't think it's worth it to see movies at Parkwood anymore. They've lost my business until they pay more attention to the details. I spent almost two years working at a big movie theater when I was in college, so I understand how the business works. Since it's the only theater in town you're pretty much stuck with it. The seating is nice, there's plenty of leg room for even very tall people. The floors are often sticky and coated with popcorn but I guess that's just part of being in a movie theater. The lobby looks a lot nicer since the recent renovation was completed. The staff is your typical bored and unenthusiastic teenage crew but the one time I had to talk to a manager about something he was helpful and did a good job addressing my concern. My one real complaint about this place is how terrible the popcorn is. I only go to movies a couple of times a year and I always think I will treat myself to popcorn because it smells so good. It's never good though! It tastes stale and sometimes burnt and it somehow manages to be both bland and overly salty. Skip the popcorn and go with one of the many other choices offered. read more

We've been going to this establishment for years now. Never had a problem till today. A power outage happened. Yes I know you can't control these kind of things. But they gave us a refund and then pushed us out of the door. It wouldn't of been that hard to give us some vouchers or coupons or something of that sort. I would've given a one star rating but the only thing holding this at a two is the pizza I ordered. read more

We were given a gift card so we thought a take-out pizza would be fun. The thin crust is an OK concept, but put something on it. If you ask me, the $19.50 for a pizza should be adjusted down to $9.50. Seemed like they may be understaffed as it took a bit to be acknowledged me while waiting by the sign. Could not see patrons though. Not sure why that was like it was. I'll watch for some good news or advertised changes and try it again. Until then, I'll find a better value. Good luck! read more
