The surgery is in an old Victorian building looking right out onto the seafront in Bray so there are amazing views from the chair to distract you. Dr. Smith recently won an award for being Ireland's most sensitive dentist and it was definitely well-deserved. She's friendly, easy-going and sympathetic to nerves. I'd say it would be a great surgery to bring children to. What I found most helpful was that she explains everything that she is going to do and what the different tools are so that there are no unpleasant surprises or unexpected torture instruments appearing in front of your face. There is also the option of sedation available if you really can't stick it.

Did I believe him no way but I found the only thing which did bother me was he kept asking if I was OK while I was nodding off. I am back to the dentist for a good clean and apparently they have a new method for dental hygiene which I will let you know more about when I have this treatment in June 2010.

That's the feeling I had having bitten down on an inexplicably hard battered mushroom and the result was a shard of tooth sitting in the palm of my hand. Cut to Q in a reclining chair with Brian the Dentist looking at the remains of my lunch between the remains of my teeth. I really thought I was going to loose at least a tooth if not two and I was picturing my bank manager smile as I signed for yet another loan. Not so, Brian pretty much rebuilt the tooth and with a pat on the head and a warning about deep-fried veg he sent me on my way. Rathmines Dental is definitely not the most fun you will ever have with your clothes on but when you do have to go to the dentist find somewhere like this where you are comfortable, it makes it all that little bit more bearable!

We commissioned Tony's emergency services to refit an existing inlay with cement. Within 48hrs the cement failed leaving the inlay intact. Upon asking for part compensation we were told to return to Dublin otherwise nothing could be done. We have been hung up on, had our emails ignored for months and expected to conclude that purely because he has [I quote] "45 years in General practice" and thinks its unreasonable for our case to be disputed we should cease to persist. A Tiler is commissioned to refit a tile. It comes loose after 48hrs. A Plumber is commissioned to reseal a pipe. It leaks after 48hrs. An Electrician is commissioned to rewire a socket. It shorts after 48hrs. They are all responsible as are you.
