Lo and behold, when we sat down and ordered our food, more people poured in. I truly enjoyed the vintage decor on the walls and shelves placed around the restaurant. I also watched news coverage of the original Mr. Cupcake Diner on the only flat screen TV in the restaurant and thought I had seen it on Rated K before. When the waitress handed us the menu, I was intrigued by the gargantuan burger option, but didn't have the stomach to order it. Instead, I got the Fettuccine Alfredo pasta and a simple hamburger. My cousin ordered pasta with red sauce and our companions ordered a burger meal. All four of us shared a large bowl of nachos. Fettuccine Alfredo - very greasy and the bread was oddly sweet. I wasn't used to eating sweet, hard bread with pasta. Hamburger - the white sauce also tasted very sweet. My cousin informed me that it was sweet mayo, which I found quite odd because I've never had anything sweet on a burger before. Nachos - cheesy, spicy, and crunchy goodness. Odd sweet mayo sauce. Overall, I'm glad I tried this place out, but I don't think I'd come back. Our meal was worth 550 pesos and the experience was worth the drive out in the rain.

I normally assign the term "good but not worth it" to these kinds of places. As far as retro-diners go though, Jugo Bar is one of the best I've seen. The place has all sorts of cool little features, from their PS3 (which you can play on for free BTW, and we used for waaaaay too long to play 2K), extremely fast free wi-fi, and great selection of cool coffee table books and board games to start the barkada fun. Back to the food. The food made me so full. Considering that I only spent 160 pesos (I think he whole bill was 500-ish), I got a huge-ass three-way iced tea pitcher (that me and my two friends couldn't even finish), a very tasty chicken rice meal, and a huge plate of fries we split three ways. And we couldn't finish everything, because it all came in these huge portions. I had no idea how one could finish any of this. It was impossible. And then you realize that only cost you 150 pesos and you're pretty amazed at that point. And the food tasted pretty goddamn great too - it was on par with more expensive diner-themed restaurants with similar dishes.
