A luxury massage experience that can't be beat! A couple times a year I will treat myself to this experience (one through the 10% birthday reward). I have had great experiences each time from start to finish. From the changing room where you get a robe, sitting in a private waiting area with water, tea or champagne, the cozy massage room, then coming back out for more water, tea or champagne. The most recent time I had Kayla and she was AWESOME! 6 out of 5 stars. I was suffering from some leg discomfort and she was very professional with asking me where I wanted her to focus on, and whether she could skip other places to focus more on the areas I mentioned. Light conversation too throughout (which I know is not for everyone but Kayla is really funny though to not have a brief chat!). Massage was weak and one of the masseuses upgraded my massage to a deep tissue charging us more and I did not order, ask nor request a deep tissue massage. I actually went here a while ago with my friend that lived in BHam. This was always her favorite spot to pamper herself and she showed me how to do it well here. I wanted the day of decadence, but opted for the tranquil escape instead, as it was a less damage to the wallet and champagne isn't something I I usually drink much either. I have been going to Margot for over 25 years. Any service I have received has always been great. My favorite is the Body Polish, it is an exfoliating scrub with a 50 min massage. You come out feeling smooth, glistening and relaxed, you feel amazing. I also like the European facial, your face feels refreshed. When you walk in you feel instantly relaxed, it is very calming and soothing place. I highly recommend going here. I drive more than half hour to go here when I can go to other spas near me. Heaven in Birmingham Michigan! I Just went this past weekend and took my 21 year old daughter. We both had massages and facials. Upon entry we were greeted warmly by the receptionist and our services started on time. My massage by Robert was fantastic. He is very professional and has a calm energy. Margot did my facial and I can honestly say my skin looked radiant the next day. She is passionate about making women understand the importance in taking care of their skin and educates them on how to do that. Most importantly, she did not push tons of her products. She Just recommended a few I should start with. My daughter also had a wonderful experience. I Feel very fortunate that her first facial was a positive experience. I chose this spa due to the yelp reviews to celebrate my friends bachelorette party but to be honest I was a little disappointed. The spa itself was beautiful with multiple locker/ shower rooms and they provided nice robes and spa slippers. They have 2 waiting rooms, 1 on each side of the spa, that offer infused water, tea, and coffee. What disappointed me about our experience was that they were doing construction or something the day we went so while we were waiting in the waiting room we could hear drills going.... not the most relaxing but I understand that they needed to complete something but maybe do it after hours?? I feel like guests come to the spa to relax in a serene environment. Also when I checked in they informed me that the Vichy shower wasn't working and we can do a regular shower. That's fine I guess but I was expecting the hydrotherapy, yet they didn't even apologize or anything!! I only found out about it after overhearing one of the front desk ladies tell a client over the phone. I don't get why we didn't get that courtesy..... Another item that added to our spa day was that our services began at 2 but I wasn't picked up until 2:30pm while the rest of my girls were picked up at 2pm. But what annoyed me was my therapist said that we aren't cutting anytime or anything but yet I was still the first one dropped off. It just didn't make sense to me since I have experience managing a spa. On the other hand though, the massage therapist, Shelly, and nail technician, Elizabeth, I had were amazing and very kind. I felt like they really turned my experience around. The spa package I did was Miss to Mrs. Package which was marked at $250. I had to do gel polish removal on my nails and toes which was an additional $30. I honestly didn't want to pay the full price since I didn't get the full experience but it was easier just to pay and leave since I feel like the older ladies at the front desk had better things to do. My only advice would be to focus on guest service. Attitude is not appreciated when your dropping a good amount of money for a lovely experience. Also please say something before you charge our cards so we can leave gratuity. I was lucky that I had cash that day and I didn't want to have another charge on my card. Overall will I go back, honestly probably not. I just don't think they were worth the cost unfortunately read more

This is a tough review to write. The salon is beautiful and the technicians are so so nice BUT it's very pricey and for that price you expect top notch service. My technician was the nicest woman in the world but she was older and frankly did a really horrible job on my toes and nails. I just didn't have the heart to say anything because she was very kind and doing her best. I will not go back here unfortunately. Also my daughter came with me for an acne facial. She had a tough blackhead on her chin and the technician tried squeezing it with her fingers! She didn't even have the right tools. Now my daughters face is just red and the problem wasn't resolved which is why we went I. The first place. $300 later..... smudgy nails and an inflamed teenager. Lol read more

I am taking off stars because the price of this place is ridiculous, I mean really. I do not balk at paying higher prices for significantly better services but that was not the case here. I also was not made to feel welcomed or comfortable here, rather like a poor cousin who did not really belong. I don't really, but that is entirely beside the point. I did not pay as I went as a group thing for a big budget wedding but when I saw the regular rates I wanted to hyperventilate. I had a couple of nice treatments but I can get just as nice for cheaper elsewhere. The atmosphere is lovely enough, the music and lighting very spa appropriate. The staff seemed very snobby and one person was a bit judgemental and made me feel a bit uncomfy about my weight. I hate when spas do this. Trust me I know I am fat, I'm not thrilled about it either lady. The facial I got was a hundred dollars, a very good facial but not significantly better than what I have recieved elsewhere. The cheapest massage in here is 85 bucks and you do not even get a full hour. They upsell you the entire time there which really detracts from any relaxation I might have gotten. My nails also did not last too long at all. The nail service was the strictly standard type and I was not all that impressed. We had luncheon type snacks and wine but it was not anything special really. We did get gift bags but the products seemed like stuff that was not moving off the shelves and they were just throwing it in, a lot of us had no use for what was in our bag and we did a few swaps. I got a dry skin product for instance when I had just had a facial for problematic combination type skin that breaks out when anything heavy is applied. One of the girl's product seemed like it had been used already so she chucked it. All in all I was not wowed and it is just as well, I cannot afford this place at any rate. They do send me deals through an email club I somehow ended up on (eyeroll inserted) but I still find them to be higher than elsewhere and frankly I am uninspired to ever return. read more

Prior to booking my appointment for my first visit to this spa, no one mentioned to me that there wouldn't be any robes or slippers to lounge in an area to have beverages before our massages. That's the best touch of a spa day, am I right?! Especially for the price! You would think they would let you know that services would be different and that you'd have to wear a mask the entire time during a massage. Anyway, the massage was great and so relaxing. My favorite services to get there are facials by Margot (whatever she recommends for my skin at the time) and the lymphatic draining baths. I had the best prenatal massage with Amber yesterday! This was my second one with her during my pregnancy and it was life changing! She knew the perfect pressure to apply and worked on my sciatic nerves which have been bothering me for weeks. Thanks to her I was able to sleep last night without any discomfort. I've had a few treatments here: pedi, massage, facial Atmosphere The day spa is very nice inside. The lighting is calming and the music is relaxing. The decor is very classy and serene. Parking was convenient in the structure across the street. Nails The pedicure wasn't great and didn't last. I feel like mani/pedis may have been an add-on service, but they don't do a ton so they're not extremely good at them. Massage I would have liked a deep tissue, but I wasn't paying (rec'd through work). It was very good for a regular massage. I am a former college athlete so I have a lot of physical pains and strange joints and the masseuse worked out a lot of knots while not aggravating injuries. The room was absolutely private and I felt comfortable the whole time. Facial I've had two facials from Margots. They do a great job cleansing and my skin felt amazing after. It cleared up a lot of problem areas that my dermatologist and lots of prescriptions didn't help. Everything was really top notch except I felt like they were selling to me the whole time. She kept telling me that she'd leave certain product that would really help up front for me. Groups We went with a group from work both times (8 people-ish) and they were very accommodating. They have a small separate room where we had the catered food and wine set up. The services and logistics were well orchestrated and no one waited very long. Extras Both times, we were given gift bags with a full-size sample product inside. I'm pretty sure this applies to anyone, not just groups. I really liked a clay mask they gave one time, and the lotion the other time was mediocre. read more

I am a spa junkie and have been to at least 50 different spas all over the US, Europe, and even on a couple of cruise ships and I can say that the facial I received from Margot today was one of the best I have ever had. Jessie did my make-up and she was also wonderful. There are little extras (hand massage during my facial, extra massage during my body wrap, eyebrow wax during facial) that make them above, above average. This is one amazing place! I went here for the first time recently to get a hydro facial. When I walked in I was greeted by very friendly staff and my appointment started on time. My facialist was very knowledgeable and tuned in to my skin. I have ridiculously sensitive skin and she adjusted my treatment to accommodate that fact. She asked what my concerns were regarding my skin, and recommended a facial oil to help combat my skin's dehydration. However, nothing was an unwanted hard sell. The spa itself is spotless and beautifully decorated, with plenty of comfortable seating. I felt completely at ease and well taken care of when I went. I will be back! read more

I went here with my friend had a relaxing full body massage with essential oils. Besides the beautiful atmosphere in the massage room and shower room. Margot took us on a tour of the other rooms one where you can get hydrotherapy performed which looks very relaxing. After our tour of the spa she offered us more (very good) chocolate and champagne, chatted with us for a while, and left us with a very good experience. She is so sweet and you can tell she is uber passionate about her business and wants to ensure everyone genuinely enjoys their time and their every need is met. Was there for 'Shelllack'-Manicure. Schellack stays usually minimum 2-3 weeks on the Nails without shattering. It was very disapointed that after 1 Day they start to splinter... I went back after 2 Days. They re do the 4 damaged Nails. But after 2 Days it was the same... They can Not make Shellack!!!!! read more

My husband scheduled me for a facial and massage. Before my massage, I told the dirty looking masseuse I was in my 1st trimester just to notify her. She then told me she needed to talk with her manager and to go sit back on the couch. I was then approached for my facial, the lady with bad teeth said, "we will START with your facial". NOT mentioning a single word that they could no longer do my massage. After asking when my last facial was, she asked WHERE it was? Who cares where it was! Why don't you ask if I have problem areas or what my skin type is?! SHE REMOVED MY BLACKHEADS BY SQUEEZING THEM OUT WITH HER FINGER NAILs!! There are salons DOWNRIVER who have the machines to properly remove blackheads with suction. I've gone sporadically to Margot's since it was in its former location. Sometimes I've gone b/c I have a gift certificate; other times I've gone b/c I could get an appt. I don't plan to go any longer b/c the prices are very high considering other salons in the area deliver just as good or better services for a lower price. The main reason I am no longer a fan of Margot's is because every time I've gone in recent years, I get the upsell. Margot must train her employees to be pushy b/c no matter if I'm having a facial or a pedicure, the employee starts touting all the products they sell that can help whatever devastating situation I am in. That's the other thing: they try to make me feel as though I have the worst skin or nails or whatever in the world and only they can help me. I have normal skin. I don't have acne. So I know this is just another annoying sales tactic that preys on customers' self-esteem. It's pretty low. I go to the spa to relax and enjoy being pampered. I don't want the added stress of fending off pushy sales tactics that remind me of a used car salesman. read more
