My husband and I experienced the Fire and Ice for the first time yesterday and it was amazing! The gentleman there was super nice, informative, and thorough. They thought of everything in this room! A water cooler, towels, soap, shampoo, body wash, and robes. The ice bath took some getting used to, but very refreshing following the sauna. We will be back! Super impressed! read more

I found this place searching around one night on Groupon. I gave it a try and was very pleasantly surprised. The area that greets you as the lobby is small and clean. Then you walk into a sitting area before being shut off to your pod. There's a clean pod awaiting you for relaxation. I wish I could come at least once a month to unwind. read more

A wonderful experience. The cabins are dark and body temperature, the Epsom salt water slime like. The private shower and lighting help to keep the isolated mood. There is a shared bathroom and getting ready room, with many good products for your use. Also there is a tea room with books, chairs, cushions... I stayed there for a couple hours afterwards and had some great conversation with the owner. Wednesdays and holidays are often cheaper, and they have a discount for veterans. read more

I have done two floats here at Motor City and I am enjoyed both times but enjoyed the second float more. The first time I visited the woman at the desk walked me through everything in great detail which was super helpful. I do, however, wish she would have told me I could listen to music. The second time I visited I was prepared to play music only to find out I needed a dongle for my iPhone 8 which I could have asked the front desk if they had one but it wasn't a big deal. The tanks are large, the shower/dressing area is warm and the shampoo smells amazing. They give you earplugs, makeup remover, and a few other things to help you enjoy your float. I really like the online scheduling, the prices are great, and the staff is friendly. The whole place is very zen and relaxing. I highly recommend this place if you are interested in doing a float. read more

Great experience here. The check in process was easy, Angie was friendly & accommodating. Paperless waivers by phone confirmed our appointments, and the place was spotless. Had a calming float and came out to a covid-friendly meditation room. I liked the lighting in the rooms, shower setup, and type of tanks. My water temp was perfect and I slipped into full relaxation. Interesting experience. My son wanted to try this out, so we booked appointments for their "happy hour" on Wed ($35/hour). The place is very peaceful and serene, and the staff was friendly and helpful. And most importantly, everything was very clean. I just wish I'd have known that I could have listened to music as I floated. I did feel relaxed afterwards. I only wish I'd have worn a swim cap because the extremely salty water trashed my hair, and weeks later it still looks dull and lifeless. Not the spas fault, though - I should have known better. So ladies - cover your hair! Again, it was an interesting and relaxing experience, but not something I'm interested in doing again. read more

Amazing experience. I came in for severe insomnia. This being my first time I'll need to check back later and let you know if it worked. I've been told magnesium help with insomnia by a friend and their bath water is infused with it! What I will say is Sam walked me through the whole facility. He left no question unanswered. What really sold me were two things other than their fantastic employee Sam. 1. Floating in water for and hour? I don't ever take baths. I always shower. Once the lights are off, you are floating in this hug and completely cut off from the world I realized how beautiful it was to be completely unplugged from the world. Very few thoughts went through my head. My worries about being short handed at work the next week gone. The robocalls and texts were non existent silent in my purse. Just pure peacefulness. 2. And this is so minor but the shower gel, shampoo and conditioner were as good as I get at my hair salon. No worries having to go home and still shower. Thank you for an amazing, clean and peaceful environment. I pray this helps with the insomnia but if not I'll be back just to unplug again for an hour. Another employee Andrew checked at the end to make sure it went good. And by the way unlike a massage an hour is even longer. You get an hour in the tub (it ginormous) but all the time you want to shower after and I'm sitting in a relaxation room with tea writing this being told stay as long as I like. Try it! read more

This is my favorite float center in the Midwest. I used to drive all the way to Lansing, then to Farmington Hills, then I found Motor City Float. It's amazing, the experience itself is relaxing and if you combine it with a massage prior it's pure bliss. I am now daydreaming about my next session. Providing you little luxuries of the "get ready" room in which you may need to put yourself back together and continue on with your day. Lotions, deodorant, and blow dryer for the ladies! The chill room is great to get your bearings back together to face the busy world of reality again. Kumbucha is on tap along with green tea, water, fruits and cookies. It was my first time floating and it was expierence all in its self. In the daily hustle and bustle of the world, it was great to disconnect from everything. An hour felt like eternity, but listening to others whom have floated multiple times, it's something that may take 2-3 times to get fully comfortable. I tried a float as a treat for myself on the first anniversary of the death of a loved one. I was looking for something relaxing and serene. I'd heard from someone else who had done a float...she liked it and urged me to try it. I decided to try it after going up to talk with the person minding the place and seeing how clean and nice that it looked. The fellow was very nice about giving me a tour of the place and asking all of my questions.I went ahead and booked an appointment for a float during a weekday on a Wednesday ("Happy Hour" prices!). I was initially a little nervous about doing a float because I'm wasn't too keen on being cooped up in a small space in the dark. You can ask for them to keep the lights on at a low level...and the low-level green light was enough to allay my fears, and it was quite soothing, too. Plenty of room and privacy to take a quick shower before and after the float, plus there is a room where you can have a coffee or glass of water and a quick snack before you head on home. I'm looking forward to doing it again as winter starts up this year. read more
