I have heard many mariachi groups over the last 30 years (in both the US and Mexico), and Mariachi Alma de Mexico were THE BEST and MOST TALENTED musicians I have seen!! They played GORGEOUS music that truly warmed my mom's heart and enhanced the entire evening, and they did a wonderful job of changing "paces" of songs from faster, high-energy songs to slow, romantic anthems. For me, mariachi is hit or miss. Alma de Mexico is a HIT! Not only did they sound great, but they looked great. It bothers me when mariachi show up with different outfits. But this group looked sharp. My family helped me book them for my daughter's quinceañera , so I really did not know what to expect. I met with Juan a couple weeks before at Tequilas in Burbank (great Friday atmosphere!) and asked about doing a surprise performance for my daughter. They were happy to work with me and assured me it would be great. For the actual party, they played the songs we had previously requested for certain family members including one of my favorites, El Cascabel. They did the dance steps for El Mariachi Loco which added to the performance as well. To top it off, we surprised the entire banquet hall with a special performance of El Cancion del Mariachi. (You had to be there to get it, but it brought tears to people's eye...in a good way!) They really made that evening enjoyable and a great experience for me, my daughter and all the guests that were there. I would definitely hire them again!!! read more
