From our first phone call, Jocelyn really listened to us and understood our vision for our wedding day. She helped us plan an itinerary for the day that was authentic and effortless. On our wedding day, Jocelyn was the only person present, and we wouldn't have it any other way. She was our witness, our hype-woman, and captured every moment of the day along the way. She did the vital job of documenting our special day, but she was also a joy to be with. She made us feel completely at ease with her and her camera. The photos speak for themselves. She fully encompassed our vision of moody, candid, authentic, dramatic shots. We are so proud to show off these pictures, and every person we show is blown away by them. We met with Jocelyn Voo over Zoom before moving forward with working with her for our special day as our photographer and our witness. Jocelyn was absolutely outstanding for more reasons than one. Firstly, we felt that she really "GOT" us, from start to finish. She listened to our vision (dark, moody, candid, casual, gritty) and as wild as some of our ideas were, she totally leaned in and delivered exactly what we were looking for! Secondly, when you're eloping just the two of you, having a third person present is intimidating; what if it's awkward? What if the vibes are weird? But Jocelyn was an absolute joy to spend time with! I'd go so far as to say that her presence made the day even more special. She asked us about our love story, she joked around with us, and seemed genuinely interested in who we were as people. This also impacted the photos, as you can see how comfortable we are and how much fun we're having. Third, Jocelyn is an expert at her craft, although not pretentiously so. Her website offers so much guidance on how the elopement process works. Her emails with us gave us contacts for who to reach out to for certain steps (We took pictures in the lobby of the Beekman and had to have permission granted; something we certainly wouldn't have known!) Not only did we consider Jocelyn our photographer, but our guide in the process of eloping. She also is an expert in that her photo-taking does not appear obvious! I was worried about having professional pictures taken of me in public, but onlookers barely noticed as Jocelyn very naturally pulled her camera out and snapped pictures. If you are eloping in NYC, there is simply no contest; Jocelyn at Everly Studios is your photographer. You won't regret it, and I genuinely believe our wedding day would not have been as smooth and enjoyable if it weren't for Jocelyn.

We wanted a photographer who was very familiar with civil ceremonies at City Hall and was able to capture the day in a classic and genuine way to capture the joy of the big day. Katherine sent frequent emails with updates and tips on how to prep for the day and we had a preliminary call where we were able to make a schedule and plan out the day since we also had a wedding photoshoot afterwards in Golden Gate Park afterwards. During the day of, Katherine was on-time, flexible with when the other people in our group arrived, and guided us through the whole morning with when to check in, where to take photos, etc. She gave us some prompts of how to pose but overall she let us be natural and encouraged to be comfortable in front of the camera. The ceremony was captured beautifully by her and she took great group photos. We then went to Golden Gate Park, and she helped us take some cute coffeeshop and park photos, even with some bonus tennis court and piano pics (two of our favorite hobbies!). After the day, we received a sneak peek very promptly with an awesome of photos (~100 of them!) and a huge full gallery in about a month with lots of gorgeous film photos. There was a huge heat wave that weekend in San Francisco, and Katherine made the whole experience so pleasant and working with her felt like working with an old friend. She is so personable and I have been highly recommending her to my friends and family already! I would definitely recommend working with Katherine :)

Ultimately, we both felt that Coral really took the time to understand us and our story, and sharing those honest conversations left us with so much faith that she would capture our story and us authentically. And from just the bts videos and sneak peek gallery we saw so far, we are so so happy that we chose Coral as our photographer because she really has that special ability to capture all the raw emotions and happiness that we felt. The photos make you feel like you are right back in the moment. I wore two distinctly different gowns (one was a traditional ivory ballgown, another a red, heavily embroidered Pakistani gown), and Coral captured both looks beautifully and effortlessly. My husband is comfortable in front of the camera, but the wedding was a very nerve wracking day for him- but everyone on The Double Shot Project team were so kind and made sure to match his vibe and uplift him any time they could. They also really took their time photographing him and his father with their project cars, which was a really special moment for them. Our guests couldn't stop complimenting just how sweet and fun her and her team were, and how they brought a bright and positive energy while always mindful of the people surrounding them (which is tricky to do when holding equipment). Let me start off by saying that I should have done more research on this woman before hand,…read morehowever, I had a month to plan my wedding and this is what happens when you plan last minute: some things turn out nice and some don't. This is one of the latter... It's been a little over 2 years since this happened, but I remember it vividly, and have always meant to write review... well I finally got to it now lol. First, while we did take just a 3 hour wedding package, that does not mean that the job should be in anyway ill-treated or rushed. Well it felt very rushed, and very half-a$$ed. She had no sense of angles, or artistic sense towards my photos. At least none that were apparent in the photos. I literally (and luckily) had better pictures taken by a guest at the wedding (and for free). Not only was she rushed, but we had to give her all of the ideas for the pictures!! On top of the stress we already had! She never took a picture of me alone with my dress or my husband alone. that saddens me, since it was my wedding! To boot, she took just 1 picture at my reception, only because I begged. Mind you, when we first arrived to the city hall, we were busy with paperwork issues, and didn't take any pictures for the 1st hour, so technically she only worked for 2 hours...at a whopping $600, which she demanded we pay in full right there in my reception!! Since I was just married and in a good mood and all I made the mistake of handing her the money... Then we had to wait...and wait....and wait some more...until we were finally able to reach her. She mad some excuse that she couldn't meet us, and gave our picture CD to her doorman!!! WTF! Since I was leaving abroad, I didn't have time to do anything about it at the time, but really who does that?! She couldn't even give us the courtesy to face us! Anyhow, I took the CD home and when I viewed it, I was disgusted. The pictures were RAW, she didn't even take time to correct flaws, such as red eye, or ill lighting....something that can easily be done from any home computer in a matter of minutes!!!! Out of roughly 200 photos, there were maybe 10 (being kind here) that were nice enough to re-touch and fix (which I had to do). I don't know how she handles her other work, but I would definitely NOT recommend her for WEDDING Photography.
