I was a little flummoxed, however, that the items for sale were all in pre-packaged plastic containers, or pre-packaged in a fridge, or sealed in bags like you'd see in a regular store. Stopped by today to try the infamous maritozzi that are gaining popularity all over South Jersey. When I arrived right at 10am when they opened, there were already 10 or so people in line. Maria was very friendly and said she knew why everyone was in - to try their Maritozzi. They were individually packaged and stored in their fridge. There were only about 30 or so premade, but she said they would be making them all day. I decided to only get one to try since I didn't know how they would be. One Maritozzi was $8. It was a good size, but I thought $8 was pretty steep. It was not what I was expecting at all. It was more bread like with a filling, but not as creamy as I expected. I thought it would taste similar to a cannoli, but it didn't at all. It had good flavor, but it really wasn't as good as I thought it would be. At the $8 price I wouldn't go back for more. I would go back to this bakery to try other items since everything is made daily and looked great! read more

Their cookies are great, and it certainly beats killing yourself around a hot oven all day to make a variety of cookies. Prices are reasonable, and they do a great job at providing a variety of cookie flavors. It is my go to place for cookies. Maria's Mom's was also featured on the Golden Globes (one of the award shows) and provided the celebritys with cookies for their gift baskets. Check back often because they offer seasonal desserts as well. They also offer other sweet desserts too. I did not have any, but they sounded and looked really good. You pay by the pound - similar to purchasing fudge - and can choose the number of cookies you want per flavor. Again, you are paying weight. read more

We stopped by for a tree shaped brownie decorating moment w Santa this year. Heard about this place through word of mouth. Pros: it's approx 15 mins where your child decorates something w Santa Santa does a great job and looks real Very helpful staff, kind and patient Lots of photo ops. Cons: honestly, can't think of any. 15 mins is plenty of time w Santa. They do ask that you not go over your wish list at this visit. They offer FREE visits to go over their wish list later in the season. The decorating session was $20 which I think was reasonable. If you just do the free visit, My suggestion is that you purchase something or leave Santa a nice tip (we did both). My daughter loved the decorating part so much, she wanted to come back to go over her list w Santa, which shocked me, as she can be painfully shy. She was sooooo excited to go over her list. Their Santa is superb. First question he asked her was if she's been brushing her teeth. HOW DID YOU KNOW??? We've been struggling w teeth brushing for weeks!!!! So that totally hit the Mark. My daughter got to go over her list and then we took pics e Santa and the elf. Totally low key. No mob scenes. You are by yourselves with Santa and his elf. My husband loved it. I loved it. My daughter LOVED IT. They also do a really nice job of decorating the third floor for the Santa's wish list sessions. Tastefully done. We will be back next year. Laurel looking for a place where I can buy some treats for a prospect I'm about to visit. I was thinking something like a Mrs. Fields or any local bakery. But I couldn't seem to find any on Yelp. Finally I do a Google search and come across Maria's Mom's. The place is super cute - like someone's house converted into a bakery - and they are super friendly. I asked for some cookies to be ready by 10am and they were wrapped and ready when I showed up around 9:58am =). The 1lb package looked a little smaller than what I had expected but all the cookies looked delicious (and I heard they were delicious from my prospect). I cannot say enough wonderful things about this little bakery -- a true gem in the midst of run-of-the-mill bakeries in south Jersey. I've been buying baked goods here on occasion for a couple of years -- the MOST DELICIOUS homemade cookies around. Most recently, Maria made a cookie tray donation to my son's Boy Scout troop 170 of Cherry Hill. I recently ordered 2 rice pies from Maria's Mom's for the first time for Easter. First, the women who work there are so sweet and kind. It felt like I was speaking to family. I pre-ordered the rice pies and she walked me through how they make theirs. She wanted to make sure it was similar to how my late grandmother made her rice pies. I was so taken back by how sincerely friendly and kind she was to me. Secondly, the quality of the rice pie was AMAZING!! It tasted EXACTLY like how my grandmother made hers.
