Went in here one day to grab a couple cupcakes and try them out because I'm thinking of getting them from my daughter's bridal shower. The store is beautiful and the people there are just really sweet. I took home the four in the pic (cookies and cream, vanilla cake with chocolate icing, vanilla with vanilla icing and a red velvet I don't like red velvet but THAT red velvet cupcake was amazing and then my second favorite was the vanilla cupcake with the chocolate icing. Whoaaaa! This place is amazing! I happened to see the shop as I was driving and decided to drop in. The shop is more spacious than I expected and felt modern and light. I stopped in an hour before they closed and the staff was very welcoming. I ordered a vanilla latte (with almond milk), cinnamon danish, raspberry white chocolate cheesecake, and a lemon cookie. All of them were so so good! The lemon cookie wasn't overpowering but the texture was perfect. The cinnamon danish was flaky (not a typical danish, but very good) and the cheesecake was very thick and tasty (not too rich). This place is so good! Gotta be careful with the calories lol! I was really hoping to love this place. It got great reviews on Yelp.... but I guess everyone's taste is different? I decided to round up to a 4, as I believe this rating to be a 3.5. Visited Gong Cha in the same plaza and decided to give this place a try for some baked goods.. We ordered a lot because everything looked delicious! Very well presented, in a clean, airy, and open space. Because of this, we ordered a chocolate chip cookie, a couple of scones, beignet, and some cupcakes. Unfortunately, I was a little underwhelmed by what we purchased... maybe that is because I had such high expectations? The chocolate chip cookie was delicious.. a highlight out of them all. I bake so much that a lot of people think I'm a pastry chef, but this is where I go when I want a treat without having to make it! All their goods have an incredibly fresh, homemade taste! They're not overly sweet and salty like mass-produced warehouse club sweets. Sunflower has a smaller selection of goods available than many bakeries, but unlike many bakeries, they make everything there. I particularly like the scones and cookies, but their coffee is stellar as well. The atmosphere at the new location is very nice as well. read more

This store opened somewhat recently at the new location and I'm so glad since it's so close to home! Their cupcakes were really good. I bought some for our friend's bday and this friend is pretty picky about carrot cake. The first, and definitely the last time I went in there the entire staff was completely awful. The girl who took my order and put my pastries in the box was rude, impatient, entitled and acted like I was inconveniencing her by asking her to do her job. Don't get me wrong the pastries are for the most part very good, but not worth the ridiculous pricing and certainly not worth the ridiculously poor attitude I received from staff. It just feels so cold in there and from what I have heard from people close to me they have all had similar experiences with staff each time they have gone in there. read more

Ordered the 40-50 piece Thanksgiving sampler and was very disappointed in its overall appearance and offerings. When I think of it, I think 'brown'. There were 9 small pieces of their delicious caramel cheesecake. Other offerings were pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, small pecan bites, oatmeal cookie sandwiches with a nice cream inside and a small raspberry bite - most of which were 'brown'. There was nothing appealing about the sampler, which cost $70. It definitely needs some zip -small apple or peach tarts, orange icing on a cookie, perhaps some sprinkles. I rated this experience 3 stars but overall rate the bakery a 5 for the majority of their products. read more

Great new bakery in the area that moved from Medford. They have a little area to sit and have coffee and some of their fresh baked goods, and then the choices of all the fresh baked goods is great. They have cupcakes and brownies and cakes and mini cakes and scones and coffee cake... Everything was delicious. The chocolate cupcake with the mint frosting was great. Awesome moist brownies. This is a cute shop. It was my first visit. The woman working the counter was so friendly. I personally tried the blueberry lemon scone. It was pretty good - lots of fresh blueberries. The glaze was a great compliment. Scones are always on the drier side. This wasn't that bad at all. I would get again. I did buy the chocolate heart brownie and red velvet cake bites. I couldn't try them due to my allergies. They were given great reviews. The brownie was moist and received higher marks than the cake bites. This isn't my usual bakery but I will definitely stop in again soon. It's on the list and convenient to get to. read more

Nice little bakery that we've been by a bunch of times and had just never stopped in. I'm glad we stopped today. We were in the area and looking for a sweet treat. I had the peanut butter stuffed cupcake which was delicious. Cake was moist and there was great peanut butter flavor. My wife got an oatmeal cookie which was equally delicious. I have been a frequent customer of this shop. Never had a bad experience. The Cinnamon Rolls are the best I've ever had (get in early to get them and heat them up at home). They also provided cakes, cookies, and party trays for parties that we have thrown. Guests have told us that every single dessert was some of the best they have had. I hesitate to write this as my experience when going to Sunflour is always pleasant with good service, and I like to support my local businesses, so I want to be clear this is based solely on the baked goods. People also clearly love this place, so while I'm certainly hard to please, my kids gave similar feedback, so I don't know what I'm missing. I will say the treats and custom goods all look fantastic, but at least for me that was where the positive part ended. I was so excited by the choices when I walked in and went home, but quite disappointed after trying everything. Macarons- the "cookie" was a soft cookie, not the chewy almond based macaron one would expect. It honestly didn't resemble a macaron other than it was a round cookie with cream in the middle. The Lucky Charms filling was basically lucky charms marshmallows on a buttercream. Confetti Cupcake- hate to say but it tasted like boxed cake mix. Also, all the confetti was the on bottom of the cupcake. This can easily be fixed by coating the funfetti in flour before adding to the batter. I was genuinely surprised by this from a bakery of this caliber. Beignets- the donut was good, but the vanilla pastry cream was quite bland. I debated with myself if this was jello pudding mix. I hate to say it, but the custard inside a Dunkin Boston Cream puts this to shame. I should end by saying while I don't go to Sunflour that often, i was reminded of similar experiences in years past. I have to give my wife all of the credit for discovering this hidden gem! It's really nice to support local, small businesses. This bakery is following the COVID-19 protocols. The staff wears masks. Social distancing is set up in the customer waiting area. The staff is friendly and helpful. I purchased cupcakes on my first visit. Of all of the bakeries near my neighborhood, these are the best cupcakes I have tasted!! Because of COVID-19, the hours of operation are different than what is listed. The bakery closes at 2pm daily. Everything is scratch made. You can purchase what is in the display cases or you can place custom orders. Custom orders take about a week to complete. So plan on waiting a week before you get to enjoy what you custom order. What is available in the display cases is for sale until there no items left. If the particular item has sold out, you will have to check back the next day or, if you want it bad enough, place an order. The cupcakes and cookies made here are gourmet, but the prices wont break your wallet. read more

We were looking to get a cake for my mom's surprise birthday and my sister-in-law recommended Sunflour Bakeshop and she said make sure you talk to Maggie. Being a busy time running around with everything else, I was able to easily communicate with Maggie thru email on the perfect cake. We went with a sheet cake for 50 ppl and then went into details. I went simple this time around, but there's a good amount of choices on what you want for the cake and fillings. I got funfetti and with just buttercream layered in between. I saw a 'stained glass window' picture on the website and liked that idea. She had asked if there was a favorite color and we picked purple (for the flowers). The cake was very beautiful and so damn tasty. It was easy to cut, looked fantastic and you know you have a good cake when it tastes just as good the next day (we thankfully had just a little leftover).
