You go in and there are tables in the window and the rest in front of you leading to a counter where you place your order. There is a menu on the table and specials up on the board. We've tried pretty much everything in there and go back time and again, as the food is good and prices are reasonable. As well as sandwiches, all day breakfasts and soup, they do special hot meals such as lasagne, and a wide selection of cakes, and yummy treacle tart. After you place your order the food will be cooked fresh and brought to you and then you pay at the counter afterwards. My tip is to get a window seat so you can watch the world go past as you wait.

Seriously, the first time I saw it, I wanted to dive right in! This shop is located on the same side of the river as the abbey and the 199 steps are. It's on the main street that leads up to the 199 steps but bare in mind it can be hard to miss, the first time I visited it, I walked right past it! Inside is kind of a cafe set up with gorgeous leather chairs for anyone who wants to sit down and eat - trust me with these products, sitting down is the best option. They serve either skewers which come on a paper plate or boxes. Theres strawberries, fudge, marshmallows and grapes all arranged in a vareity of ways but I've visited enough times now (self confessed chocoholic) to recommend the strawberries if you're a bit stuck with that to choose. Anyway you pay your money - warning here it's extremely pricy, £4 for a skewer with 5 strawberries on - and then they take a spoon and coat whatever you've chosen in a mound of chocolate. Then you're free to go your way and live in heaven for a few minutes then try to resist the temptation of going back. The skewers are heavy so if you're planning to walk, I would say get a box if you can.
