If you want to make pasta there is a wide variety of fresh and frozen. If you need olives, they've got you covered. The shop even sells ice cream, coffee, wine and other canned goods. Of course no Italian delicatessen is complete without a selection of breads and Da Mario will not disappoint. What I like about this shop is that the staff is warm and knows a thing or two on Italian cuisine. If you purchase fresh pasta they will tell you how to cook it to perfection and will even suggest a number of sauces or meats to go with it. Da Mario offers all the fixins for a proper Italian meal, from the starters to the main course to the dessert, I like one stop shopping, especially when it's done with a smile!

The owner and the staff were super friendly! Things were a bit slow but only because it was their first day open - every business has kinks to work out on opening day. Regardless of the provenance, it was very tasty and a nice change to the blackcurrant/ raspberry liqueurs that normally accompany bubbles. Hubby had a very local lager that was possibly the best larger I've tasted, light and smooth but kicking at 5.2%!!!! What I love about this shop is that the staff is helpful and friendly and offers lots of suggestions when you are buying cheese, Caroline really knows her stuff. Whenever I go into the shop I feel a bit overwhelmed because I'm never exactly sure what I want, I love that I can tell them what I like and they have several selections instantly in mind. When I say that La Fromagerie is more than a cheese shop it means they sell other things. You can pick up a dessert or order a cappuccino. They even have a few tables to sit and enjoy a drink and if you love the smell of cheese you will certainly enjoy that. The shop isn't very big and it doesn't take many people before it starts to feel crowded. Despite that, it's a warm environment and I don't mind wiggling around a few folks as I happily exit the shop with my purchases.

Amazing Croque Madame (only quibble would be the fried egg was a leeetle bit underdone), a bacon sandwich on really good bread with nice thick bacon and two yummy flat whites. We sat outside on recycled tables, drinking from re-purposed yoghurt pots (the posh terracotta French kind- not plastic pots!) and admired the selection of tea towels they had for sale. Service was fast and friendly, the food tasty and filling and the whole thing cost less than £15. Two happy campers!
