Best Montessori School around! Where do I begin? The staff here are some of the sweetest and friendliest people I have ever met. They go above and beyond to involve our children in everything and are so patient with them. My son was in Ms. Jerical's class last year with Ms. Gabi, Ms. Becca, and on e more assistant. He raved about them and spoke about them everyday when he came home. He had nothing but great stories to tell. His younger brother took his spot this year and was beyond thrilled to be a part of the Marimont Montessori family. Ms. Rachel the owner, and her husband, run an amazing, clean business and are also so friendly. They always return our calls and emails right away. They have chickens and other farm animals, the children learn to garden, and there is ample outdoor time, which they believe is so important and so do I. I have so many great things I can't fit them all. Stop looking around and have your children go here, you won't be disappointed and your children will THRIVE! We love everyone here. This may be the only Yelp review I write with tears in my eyes as I think of our wonderful memories over the past few years at Marimont. Between two children and a cross-country move, we have experienced more than our share of daycares -- easily a half-dozen over the past decade. This one stands out as being the best by a long shot. It doesn't look like much from the outside, but this facility is a hidden gem. My only regret is that we didn't find it sooner. I think the best way to sum up my feelings is that every time I dropped off my child here, I felt such joy -- joy at seeing the directors Rachel and James running a caring-centered facility, joy at seeing the teachers empathetically interacting with children, joy at seeing the kids working independently at lessons that ranged from feeding farm animals on site, working in the gardens or enjoying a variety of lessons inside the classroom. As opposed to stricter Montessori environments I had experienced, where parents were discouraged from participating, we were welcomed here for monthly poetry recitals, Bubbles & Books and more. I loved the random events that inspired creativity, such as Dress Like a Composer Day or Chordate Day. We also participated in extracurriculars such as cooking class. I knew my child was always cared for and would experience a love of learning at this facility. We couldn't have asked for a better start, and how much I miss it now that this chapter is behind us. read more

Best school hands down! My 2-year-old daughter loves Marimont. She started 2 months before her 2nd bday and spoke only a few words. It's now been 4 months since she started and she's talking non-stop. She's learned so much vocab and is a happy independent child (sometimes even playing on her own at home for hours). I honestly can't say enough great things about Marimont. Sending my daughter there has been one of the best decisions (and we confirm this through Camila's mood & attitude pretty much every day). read more

We now have our 4.5 year old and (almost) 2 year old at Marimont and are SO grateful and impressed to have found such a respectful, supportive, and truly educational environment. The staff at Marimont are the most attuned, present, and encouraging teachers we have ever met. Our daughter has soared in educational concepts such as science, phonetics, and geography as well as social skills and safety concepts. She is much more enthusiastic, collaborative, and overall more like her self than when we first started (after briefly picking up some competitive and unfriendly behavior at her last preschool, which was not a good fit). We are SO grateful to have both of our kiddos as part of the Marimont community and I cannot recommend this school enough! read more

Sending our daughter to Marimont was one of the best parenting choices that we have made. My daughter has since moved on to public school, but she still brings up how much she misses her Marimont family. For the directors, Rachel and James, running this school is a labor of love. Rachel has such a warm and calm nature that the kids are drawn to her. James works tirelessly at maintaining the facilities. We were lucky enough to be assigned Ms. Taqueria as a teacher. It is obvious that Ms. Taqueria loves her students by the way she interacts with them when no one is watching. She is so attentive and patient. She smiles and laughs while watching them play. Everyone loves Ms. Taqueria.... the kids and the parents alike. A few tidbits about the curriculum... Marimont kids are incredibly self reliant - they are encouraged to make their own snacks, clean their messes, etc. Marimont also holds great poetry recitals for the kids. They are taught poems and present them to their classmates and families. Marimont has a lot of outdoor play time. The playground has a lot of shade. There is also a garden, chickens and sheep. If you want a bright and shiny school with fancy toys and technology, this is not the place for you. If you want to find a school that will be a home away from home for your kiddo, please consider becoming a member of the Marimont family. read more

My granddaughter has attended Marimont Montessori School for 4 years. I am a former teacher's aide, and Marimont's staff and curriculum are the best I have ever seen. There is great open communication between ALL staff members and family members. The staff to student ration is excellent. I feel that the learning atmosphere at Marimont is of the utmost high quality that you can find anywhere. This school provides many varied cultural experiences and hands on lessons and projects. Family members are always encouraged to participate in their student's educational experience. Marimont uses the Montessori model to tailor-make your child's learning experience according to their needs. In addition, the school setting itself is homey and very welcoming. It is well maintained, and all aspects of the classrooms are customized toward the learning experience of small children. The beautiful garden-like playground is set under many shady, mature live oaks and other trees; and it is constantly under the supervision of multiple staff members. This is a great school. My daughter LOVES it. They are really well organized and super professional. They are a Montessori which is great for kids to learn and explore at their own pace, with teacher "guides" to help them along. Some cool things about Marimont: - They have sheep and chickens. My daughter loves the sheep and gets to interact with them on a regular basis. When new lambs are born it is part of the normal day to welcome them into the world. - There are snacks available for the kids throughout the learning period. Kids can take a snack break when they need it. - The kids sit down for lunch and eat like humans. They have plates, napkins, utensils. - The teachers are amazing and foster independence. - Classes are mixed age- the littles learn from the bigger kids and bigger kids help the littles. It is so cute. - Great security. There are 4 gates to go through to get in and out. My daughter was impressed. - Organized. They run a pretty tight ship and are super organized. Everything is cleaned and put up daily. Overall,. I couldn't be happier and can't wait until my toddler is ready to start. read more

Both of my children attended MMS since 2010, The directors and stuff of the school are most definitely attentive at all times. the education form to me is amazing and remarkable at teaching the children, respect for all, Love for nature, cultural experiences, endless amazing values etc. They have an Excellent approach involving of all children, our experience was very positive I would love to continued there but kids grown and they only have til 1 grade. I highly recommend MMS. both of my children sure miss all of the teachers and stuff. Great heaven place in earth. read more

This place is wonderful! My kids 5 and 2.5 love the school. My 5 year old looks forward to school everyday and my 2.5 year old talks about her teachers all the time :-) Everyone (teacher and staff) here is so friendly, helpful and love the kids so much! The kids are learning so much inside and outside the classroom. My 5 year old tells me about the zoo man who visits them, the outdoor paintings that they do and the garden that they have planted. I love that they have such a large outdoor play area, my 5 year old often ask me to pick him up later so he has more time to play with his friends! Lol! I visited several preschools in the Pflugerville area before deciding on the Marimont School. I picked it over the others as I observed the homely, caring and orderly atmosphere. The kids were all so calm and happy and I am so happy that I went with my gut feelings! It was the best decision I have made and this school is truly a wonderful gem in Pflugerville. read more

Both of my children started at Marimont when they were 2 1/2 yrs old. My son is now 7, going to public school and still loves to go back to say hello. (I asked him to help me write the review and asked him what the best thing about Marimont was? He said, "EVERYTHING!" )At his current school, he is in their talented and gifted program for both math and reading. He is independent, well-behaved , respectful, and happy. I owe much of this to Marimont. My daughter is almost 4 now and still attending Marimont. She loves to learn and loves her teacher! She is different from her brother, and the teachers recognize that. They do such an amazing job of getting to know each child as an individual and then encouraging them to use their individual strengths. Communication with the teachers is fantastic! I know what is going on daily. I could go on and on, but the bottom line is Marimont has been an essential part of helping my children grow both intellectually and socially. My daughter has been attending MMS for two years so far, and she has blossomed as a result of her experiences. This school is a great match for what I want for my child: a safe, nurturing environment where she can be herself, where she is treated well by the staff and her fellow students, and where she's inspired to learn. My daughter's teacher is an enthusiastic, warm and encouraging presence in my daughter's life. Same with the administrators. The administrators have created a truly unique environment and are constantly coming up with new ways to add value to the students' educational experience. They are currently working on extending their elementary program up to age 9, and they'll be getting chickens and sheep soon! Excellent montessori program! Dedicated teachers who really do not set a limit on what your child is capable of & challenge them to keep learning beyond what is expected for their age group. Child-led/focused curriculum but also include primarily teacher-led lessons on social studies, science, history and music. Both of my children are performing above age-level and I strongly feel it is due to the strength of the program. We have always had good, open communication between the teachers and administrative staff via phone, email, face-to-face interactions. Our children have food allergies and the entire staff was very attentive to our concerns, making alternatives available and assuring they were not exposed to food they could not have. They both love the school, their teachers and are excited to go see what they are learning that day! That makes it a wonderful school for us. read more

I don't know who Anna B is but everyone I know loves it there. It is not a fit for everyone, just like any school, you will have children/parents that just don't like it. I personally can't imagine my kids going anywhere else. I cannot say enough good things about this school. Both of my children started right after their 3rd birthday and I plan to take them to Marimont through kindergarten. The teachers and support staff are fantastic, with very little turnover. My kids are learning so much more than ABCs. Culture, self reliance, nature, math, gardening, problem solving, history, composers... the list goes on. The foundation they are providing my child is priceless. I honestly don't know anyone at Marimont who is not thrilled with their childs education and with the school itself. In addition to their sheer awsomeness, the price is pretty fantastic too for a Montessori education. Two thumbs up. read more

My son was just 26 mo. when he started going to Marimont. He wasn't potty trained but the staff was so loving and patient...they had him trained in no time. My husband and I were shocked. Over a year and a half, he has truly thrived through the life lessons and educational cirriculum they offer. He was reading 3-4 letter words at 3 yrs old and is very independent, social, and respectful. I attribute so much of this to the committment of his teacher Ms. Taqueria who is so gentle and talented. My co-worker who referred us to Marimont has a child in Ms. Chris' class and also has nothing but great things to say about her. In our time here, we haven't seen any turn over in teaching staff. Their assistants also stay much much longer than what we saw at day care prior to coming here. Initially I was a little skeptical with the much lower than average tuition - aftraid quality could be the trade off..truly is not the case. I think their rates are lower due to their facility being a little older, but the cirriculum, talented staff, love, patience, and flexibility outweigh their modest facility. A true value. You get use to making lunches in no time and although very structured, they are reasonably accomodating to parents. Truly grateful to the friend who referred us and would refer to anyone. read more

I highly HIGHLY recommend Marimont Montessori. My daughter loves going there and loves her teacher, Mrs. Rachel. The staff is so friendly and supportive to my daughter and to my husband and I. Mrs. Rachel sends out weekly emails detailing the week activities. I love that they also send frequent progress reports. My daughter has learned so much and I am always amazed with what she has learned. She is 4 years old and is able to tell me the names of all the continents, oceans, and recognize music from various composers. I can't wait for my son to be old enough to enroll at Marimont. My son attended Marimont for 3 years, and we had a wonderful experience. I felt totally comfortable every day dropping him off that he would be safe, well cared for, and exposed to great learning experiences. Besides great progress with academic skills - reading, writing, math - he was taught to be kind and respectful to others, trust his teachers and caretakers, enjoy school and working on tasks, respect and enjoy nature, eat healthy foods, and take care of himself independently. The school maintained lessons and values that we impart to him at home. I can only hope that he continues to have as positive of an experience as he moves on through elementary school. read more

My two daughters had the privilege of attending Marimont over a span of 3 years. We have since moved away from the Pflugerville area and as the months go on we are often asked how we like our new location in Austin. The response is always as follows "we love it, but we really miss the place the girls went to Montessori in Pflugerville - there is no comparable service in our area now". During the years we were happily utilizing Marimont, we saw our girls be nurtured and learn through a love of exploration. Our oldest went into 1st grade ahead in all aspects, especially reading and math. Our youngest was legibly writing her name at 3 years old. More importantly was the respect they learned for their world and one another. We greatly appreciated the diversity and tuition aspects of the school. Health is encouraged through food and outdoor play in a more significant way than you will find at most nearby schools. I would highly recommend Marimont to anyone in the Pflugerville area. Both of my kiddos attended MMS from age 2 1/2-5. Today is my youngest son's last day and my heart is breaking. Marimont has been an incredible blessing for our family, and I can't even begin to say what an amazing school this is. The facility is beautiful and the play area is huge, with an area for toddlers and an area for the older kiddos. The teachers are without a doubt the sweetest, most patient and caring people around. No one wants to leave their kids at daycare all day, but it has been wonderful to know that my kiddos arrived for school each morning excited to learn, play and grow, and came home joyfully exhausted yet eager to share with us all of the things they learned that day. The kids who attend MMS are very diverse and their differences are celebrated. My son has been weeping about leaving his beloved school and teachers all week. Mr. James and Mrs. Rachel are just the sweetest, and their daily blog posts warmed my heart. Both of my kids left MMS able to read, and with a passion for mother nature, good nutrition and being a good friend. I honestly can't think of a more perfect preschool. read more

Our children have been at Marimont for the past two years and have had an incredibly good experience. Rachel is a wonderful teacher, whose passion for teaching and helping children learn compassion, kindness and mindfulness is evident. We marvel at the types of things our girls come home and talk about. They are learning concepts so advanced - and yet grasping them perfectly. In addition, the school has an intimate feel - and a nice shaded playground. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS SCHOOL. As a mom with 3 kids, we have been to every daycare that exists. My 3 year old is currently enrolled and LOVES it. The teachers are amazing as is the curriculum. She already knows her letter sounds and can skip count by 10's. (and she's only been enrolled here for 5 months). She has also memorized 2 verses from an Indian Literary Work and recited it from memory, outloud, in front of parents and peers...so they are also teaching public speaking and self confidence at an early age! I am EXTREMELY impressed. I cannot believe the value we are getting for the price we are paying. I always thought that if you "spend more, you get more" - NOT ANYMORE. I wish we would have sent my 7 year old here when he was in daycare....We are definitely making plans for my 1year old to attend when she is of age. Highly Recommend a million times over! read more

My son has attended Marimont for over two years. We have been VERY pleased with his experience there! I was unsure about the Montessori philosophy before, but the way they "run" their school is amazing. They teach the children to respect each other and their environment. The "lessons" are extremely appropriate and very realistic. This is way better than a daycare where the children are just "taken care of". At Marimont, not only are they taken care of, but they learn so many academic, social and interpersonal skills. The academic acceleration is outstanding. And, the staff is very much consistent and unified in their handling of the children. I was very disappointed with the previous daycare my son was at in regards to the inconsistent and poor professionalism of the staff; not so at Marimont. read more

We have been satisfied with MMS. Our son went there from age 2 1/2 - 5 and he did so well. We were impressed with the school's Montessori philosophy, curriculum, teachers, and atmosphere. Our daughter now goes there and she loves it! I have even referred two other families whose children now attend MMS, and I was also referred! Our kids learn a challenging kid-led Montessori program filled with not only the ABCs/123's but also world geography, history, world cultures, science, math, composers of the month, poetry, painting, healthy living, and how to care for environment. The school is big on recycling and caring for our Earth, which our kids enjoy. The school is relaxed, comfortable and structured to keep kids safe and cared for to allow for self-mastery of preschool skills. They also have extracurricular activities throughout the year you can participate in (i.e., kinder gym, ballet, piano, art lessons, Chinese, etc) and an excellent summer program for the kiddos. My daughter loved this place!! The campus is beautiful and very well maintained. The outside play area is shaded by huge trees. As a former public school teacher, I was impressed with how much my daughter learned at Marimont. It's been over a year since my daughter "aged out" of Marimont and she still sings her continents and oceans song! My daughter also made very good friends and the friendships were respected and strongly encouraged as well. I highly recommend this school - I have recommended it to many of my friends and colleagues who have since put their their children in school at Marimont and love it as much as we did. If you're on the fence about it....go take a tour! You won't be disappointed. read more

My child seems traumatized by her experience at this school. Her teachers and the directer were all very sweet, and at first it seemed like an amazing deal to get a Montessori education for such a good price before I found out what their business practices are to afford that. For instance, I know her main teacher was struggling with personal and medical issues, and when she was out I never saw a sub. Instead it looked like the assistant would take responsibility for the entire class of 20 or so by herself. A few times I would take her in the morning and the playground would be so crowded with kids and so few adults, and I was really sad to see that the teachers didn't even talk to them, it was all they could do just to keep them inside the low fence that the kids could've easily climbed over, or out of the ant piles everywhere. When I asked where the rest of the teachers were, the director would reply, "state licensing allows us to have up to 18 kids per teacher, so we are still within ratio." Well on more than one occasion I counted more than that, and sometimes toddlers mixed with 5, 6, 7 year olds, climbing over old playground equipment that gave the kids splinters in their hands. My child would come home tired with ant bites and bruises, complaining that school was "nervous," and telling me stories of all the kids that got in trouble. I just couldn't believe the things I saw at that school after reading all the positive reviews and all the friendly interactions I had with the staff. But after awhile it was clear to me the priorities of the owners had less to do with the kids' safety and individual interaction with the teachers and more to do with higher enrollment numbers. Unless they hire a few more staff, I would not recommend this school to anyone looking for a true Montessori community. It is much better to pay a little more than to have your child neglected. read more
