Marina Bay is decidedly average. It's in a nice - but not amazing - location, and it serves up food that is a bit hit or miss.
They offer a wide selection of small plates, intended to be shared like tapas or dim sum. I like this style since you get to try a lot more food.
My favorite item were the scallops, which were well-cooked and accompanied by colorful and flavorful toppings.
I also enjoyed the mussels (which came in a Thai-style curry), octopus, and edamame. The edamame was cool since it was both steamed (for tenderness) and grilled (for flavor). A little farther down the enjoyment scale came the oysters, the garden salad, and the sashimi. The sashimi looked really good but lacked flavor, and the ponzu dipping sauce couldn't quite mask that. We also ordered the garlic and chili oil prawns, a bowl of rice, and some miso-marinated eggplant (a bit too salty).
On the non-food side, parking is available in the public lot across the street. Service was a little slower than expected, but maybe that is the New Zealand way, since it's happened at other restaurants as well. read more
