I was delighted I found the Madonna Plaza, a mall with a great assortment of mid-level retail with a mix of moderately priced stores and restaurants. Ulta, Chipotle, Buffalo Wild Wings, REI, DSW, Sprouts, Kohl's, See's Candies, Cost Plus World Market and more. I found everything I needed and was on my way in 40 minutes with takeaway Chipotle for my son.

There is a wide variety of both chain and local stores to choose from, such as a department store (Sears), a supermarket, a big-box bookstore (Borders), a local place called the Crushed Grape, Best Buy, and others. Basically, if you live in San Luis Obispo and need something, but prefer to avoid downtown because of the inconvenience of walking from one end to the other, this is the alternative for those who actually use a car in their daily lives and are not ashamed of it.

Some displays were behind glass, but the majority were open, counting on the carefulness of customers. We stopped by to see if we could pick up a memento from Morro Bay, but no luck. My wife did end up buying a blouse from a brand that she liked, so the trip wasn't a total loss. My kids found plenty of places to shop from MiSou to Little Tokyo, Labubua were available. Plenty of space for walking . Plenty of comfort foods to snack on.
