On my quest to find free activities for little ones in Leeds I discovered a place to go watch…read moreplanes at the airport. On the approach to Leeds Bradford airport is a sign for a flight school. If you turn off you'll find free parking and an excellent views of the runaway for plane spotting. This place does get busy as people are taking flying lesson but there are alot of parking spaces. You are very close to the runaway and get great views of the plane taking off and landing. There is also a lovely cafe bar which sells refreshments and cakes. The staff were very helpful and friendly.Also there are toilets inside too. There is seating both indoors and out and on a clear sunny day it is lovely to site out with a drink and watch all the planes. Its great for kids they seem to get excited about all the different types of planes. Whats more its a free day out for them if you take a picnic with you.
