I am an amateur runner just starting out but they also seem to cater for all runners including the much more advanced than me! This didnt stop them advising me on what shoes were appropriate for me without making me feel like I wasnt important to them, as some athletic shops do if you are not part of the elite. They also have a rather impresive running machine that they can film you to chech your running style. I hear they moved from a smaller unit down the same street, I guess great service and good products does pay off!!

So you can design your own team logo and email/give it to them and they can see what they can do in terms of creating it and placing it on some sports wear/equipment. An entire shop, however, dedicated to sporty stuff is a bit much for me. For those that aren't too overwhelmed and are in need of some good quality kit, head down to Doug Hillard's. From swimming to soccer to cricket all the kit, balls, bags and supplies you could ever need are all down here. They keep it local too supplying local teams with their kit and some Bristol Rovers merchandise. If it's kit you need they run a little T shirt printing bit on the side, make an already able store a little better.

I guess it was one of those whim purchases but consequently I've ended using them a lot because they're so comfortable. The staff in here are very knowledgable and can suggest different styles of running trainers/clothes depending on your foot shape, type of exercise and fitness level. They'll even make you run around and look at your current shoe soles to understand how your body and feet carry your weight. This can be invaluable when you have no clue deciding whether you should buy a cross trainer or dedicated running shoe. There seems to be a permanent sale on at this place - either that, or their products are offered at great discounts. I have bought numerous items here, including: Nike running leggings, sports bras, 1000 mile running socks, Londsdale waterproof jackets, t-shirts etc etc etc plus they also sell trainers, sports equipment, sports fashion, bags and so on. The selection is well balanced though a little limited, but they have made good use of the space they have by suspending a whole tent from the ceiling fully erect. The British nature of this place isn't just brought into place by the stock of two season sleeping bags and big bins of tent pegs, they also have buckets and spades, inflatable boats and flat caps. I suppose this isn't a bad idea with them being so close to the sea side but it did leave me wondering where the canvas deck chairs and knotted hankies were. The slightly odd selection of stock is definitely balanced out well by the great customer service. When I discovered this place today I entered into a discussion with the South African guy who works there about Swiss army knives and their virtues by comparison to the ever popular Leatherman tools. Not only did the guy clearly know what he was talking about but he was funny and great to chat to.

The courier they use is also excellent and as explained by the member of staff that contacted me about the change in colour the bag was delivered the next day.
