They were so nice and gave us a good price. They other places tried to undercut their price but then threw in hidden fees. We didn't like that the other funeral homes did this so we chose Pancoast instead. They made a wonderful video montage of my mother's photos. It was beautiful and very professional. They made her look alive, it felt like she was sleeping, compared to what she looked like in the hospital. They did her make up very well and she looked like an angel. If you're looking for a great place to lay your love one to rest, this is the place for you. They were so organized and even had a local pastor speak at the funeral. There was no pressure for anyone to talk, if you don't want to speak you don't have to, they'll say a prayer at your request. They took her casket to the chapel at the cemetery and the priest said a few words and we placed our flowers on the casket and they buried her after everyone was gone. The best funeral home I have ever been to, thank you guys for your warm smiles and kindness. You made it so much easier for us and did a wonderful job with the service.

In our first conversation, he made a comment about being tired because he had to get up early to pick up my mother's body and "had to be up all night". A couple of days after my mom died, my dad made a comment about not knowing when he would get her ring. As he had quite a bit on his plate, I told him I would call the funeral home on his behalf to inquire about her ring. I called and reached the funeral director. When I asked about her wedding band, his first response was to say she wasn't wearing one. I explained that she was. My mom had bad arthritis and her ring couldn't be removed due to her swollen knuckle, so there was no question that she was wearing her ring. The funeral director again told me that the ring must have been left at the hospital. I reiterated that her ring was on her finger as it could not be removed. At this point, the funeral director informed me that her ring was cremated and with her ashes. I was upset to hear this, but I told myself that there was nothing that could be done and prepared to exit the call. As I was about to exit the call, Mr. Dubois asked me "Why didn't you tell me you wanted the ring?" I stopped Mr. Dubois and asked him to please not put the missing ring on my family. In response, Mr. Dubois stated that he hoped someday I could understand how difficult his job was. I was so taken aback by his response that I repeated what he said incredulously, to which he replied that I was obviously an "angry woman". I was again shocked that this was his response. When I stated that I was upset that my mom's ring was gone, Mr. Dubois responded that I was lying and that my mother's ring wasn't gone, it was with her ashes. After this back-and-forth, I asked him to please stop as I was grieving and upset that I couldn't give my dad his wife's ring. Mr. Dubois told me I had an anger problem, and that I "wouldn't accept his apology", before hanging up on me. Saying "you won't accept my apology" isn't an apology. As the ring was gone and we were in the middle of planning her memorial, I did my best to move forward. On the day of the memorial service, my family and I set up memorial tables with mementos of my mom's life. Once the service started, we were very busy greeting visitors and weren't paying attention to the memorial tables. After the service, we realized that the funeral home staff had covered the tables with programs and the sign-in book - right on top of the mementos we had laid out. They didn't ask us if they could do this or request we move anything--they just put them right on top. My mom's ring and a smooth service couldn't bring her back, but not having her ring, in particular, is a loss we feel. No one is perfect and mistakes are understandable. Mr. Dubois' response was not.

My mother passed away on 3/22/14-like most families we needed to receive my mother's insurance…read morepolicies in order to pay for funeral expenses. My mother was in Absecon at the time of her passing. My family had not discussed what funeral director to use,so since it was late at night we called Lowenstein Funeral Home because it was close by and we thought it was a good choice because it was located nearby several family members who needed to meet there and complete final arrangements. We called Lowenstein Funeral Home and the funeral director only sent one person that could handle carrying my mother. There were two people but one was a tiny lady who we questioned about being capable of doing the job she was there to do. My mother weighed no more than about 150 lbs. She was extremely under weight but yet we had the horrible experience added to our grief of them asking a family member to help them do their job of carrying my mother. This horrible experience has a lasting effect on our entire family that had to endure witnessing such a thing as this especially, our poor grief stricken grandson who was forced to do something so unthinkable and to this day is unspeakable. This was not our only devastation with these people that we encountered before having my mother moved to a much more humane establishment. After our family endured the passing of our mother at home and the added trauma of an unprofessional funeral home all very late on a Sat night. We were pressured to come to a meeting at the funeral home very early Monday morning. Immediately after making some necessary decisions that could possibly be made at that point without having talked our pastor about the availability of the church etc (the first business day after my mother's passing) we were handed a bill for over $10,000 and told it had to be paid in four days before the tentative day of the funeral service. We had no other alternative at that point but to find a professional funeral home that we could trust and that would work with us and give us time to collect the insurance policies.
