I recently rented a few dumpsters with Mario Brothers Carting, an almost total home gut-out for a new home I recently bought. I had read the reviews and after speaking with Mike, my mind was made up. He took the time to explain to me the sizing of the dumpsters and after being told I would not have a time limit, no weight limit on top of my price quote -it sounded too good to be true. But it was, my dumpsters arrived within 24 hours of calling and also picked-up. The driver was courteous, professional and on time. I see why they have been in business almost 20 years, family owned & operated. DO NOT use this company they will rip u off!! I ordered a 15 yard dumpster and got a small 10 yard dumpster. They charged me $645 for the first dumpster, i couldn't open the door it was all rusted shut. A few days later i ordered a 2nd dumpster they took the old one away and brought the same one back, and this time they charged me $740. When I called to confront them I was met with threats and unprofessional behavior. Since that conversation they refuse to pick up the dumpster. My lawyer has called numerous times and I have also filled a police report and I will be suing this horrible and unprofessional company. As they don't answer their phones and if they do they hang up. I have everything documented including a text message from one of the owners that includes a threat made towards me. and they're new owners at the property the dumpsters being held at so they will be sued twice. read more

I ordered a dumpster for a house clean up over the summer. I needed it for about a month. That is why I used this company. I did the transaction over the phone and Mike told me it would be $690 for the dumpster for as long as I needed it. Great. I wanted to pay cash but was told credit card only. When I got my statement, I saw that I was charged $780. I contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge and lost. Since there was no paper trail, they don't offer receipts, I had no way to prove the price. I talked to Mike 2 times on the phone and got the same quote of $690 so I know what I heard. If you do business with them, record the conversation or ask for them to email you the quote. The other issue I had was the frequent phone calls to come pick the dumpster up. I kept telling them I would need it for 30 days. I will not do business with them again. This is from their website---We like to keep the transaction simple and honest! If you do your homework and review dumpster companies you'll realize that Mario Bros is definitely the one to use. Before I ever called Mike I read other reviews. One such review recalled a conversation someone had w Mike and repeated what Mike told him and that was to call other carting co's and what questions to ask. I did that and realized if true, there was no else I would even consider. It was a no-brainer. As others have said Mike is an honest man and very accommodating. My situation took much longer than I had originally anticipated and Mike was true to his word and didn't hassle me about it. The guy Mike I dealt with started off nice. I asked for a 15 yard container he said he only had 20 left, but would charge me for 15. Ilayed plywood in the driveway so there would be no damage, the driver missed partially and made an imprint in the blacktop. I said nothing. Then a couple of days later the town came by and said I needed to have the container removed because they were unlicensed to service my town, even though their website says they do. At this point the charge was on my credit card and I saw not only did they not charge me for a 15 yarder, but they also charged more than for a 20 yarder. I called them to discuss the situation and was told they would credit the amount and being that they had to remove the container before I was done would give an additional credit, but needed to check the weight first. They said they would call me Monday afternoon. By Thursday I had not heard from them so I called them and they offered a $200 credit. I told them that was not adequate he threatened me with bodily harm and told me he did 10 years in prison and didn't care if he does another and that he was coming for me. "NUTS" read more

The phone transaction started out very pleasant but the deal turned sore quickly. When the dumpster arrived it was old and rusty. Not at all what I expected. But, I overlooked that. Next, I asked for a receipt for the transaction. I was told it would be mailed, e mailed, left in the mailbox and left by the driver when he picked the dumpster up. I never have gotten a receipt!! Then, I was overcharged on my credit card. I had to constantly ask for a credit. It was not until I was going to get my credit card company involved that I was finally given the refund. Business transactions should not be this hard. This company will not have my business again and I cannot recommend them. read more

I needed a dumpster for the clean-out of 52 years accumulation at my mother's house. Never having rented a dumpster before I was hesitant, but made some phone calls. I came across Mario Bros. and the phone was cheerfully answered by Mike. This is the only company that has no weight limit, and the price you pay is the price you pay. No paying for added weight when it rains. Also most companies rent for one week and then charge for extra days. Not Mario Bros. Mike allowed us to keep the dumpster for 11 days! No extra charge. We live in Albertson on Long Island. We have just completed a major kitchen & dining room remodel. It took 5 months from early August through late December. During that time we used Mario Brothers to provide 5 dumpsters. We had 3 dumpsters for household construction materials (the old kitchen cabinets and sink, siding and drywall from the rear wall of the house, plumbing pipes, etc.), we had 1 dumpster specifically for concrete because we dug out the old patio and created a new patio since we moved the back door as part of the remodel, and we had one dumpster for trees, bushes, and plants that we dug up as part of the remodel. Mario Brothers delivered a dumpster to our house within 2 days of us calling to request one every time. They came to pick up the dumpster within 2 days of us calling for pick up every time. Since we used them 5 times I feel confident that they are always this prompt. The price was also very reasonable for both 10 and 20 yard dumpsters (we had to order both during this process). Used this company about two years ago and they constantly boasted about their no weight limit policy for their dumps, but as soon as they received the dump they claimed it was too heavy. Then when I ordered another dump for another 800$ they tried to charge me extra for the last dump(even though they said no extra weight charge) and when I refused to pay they returned for the second dump that was half full, dumped it out all over the job site, and kept all the money with no refund. I generally don't write reviews but when I do, it is because I believe that the business, the employees or the service provided was remarkable and deserving of notice. In the case of Mario Brothers Carting, I couldn't be happier with their dumpster service or the people who accommodated our needs during a home renovation and so I'm going to heap praise upon them! Honestly, who finds happiness in a dumpster? I did. And it's the little things that added up to an overall happy experience. I'll preface this review by noting how many options there are for dumpster service on Long Island. Large sanitation companies, smaller carting companies, dumpster bags that you can purchase at a big box store and call for removal, etc. Some advertise their prices, others require you to call for quotes and a few might charge additional fees based on weight or materials going into the dumpster. If you read enough reviews for these other companies, you can get a decent idea of hidden fees. It's a headache to research though, much like shopping for a mattress on the Internet...everybody is just different enough from their competitor that there's no way to compare them directly. You just have to call these providers and speak with them personally to get an idea how their service will suit your needs. Mario Brothers Carting just happened to be the 1st company I called and after having a very pleasant conversation with Mike, they were also the last company I called. That's a good thing and it speaks volumes for the positive experience I had. If I remember correctly, I called Mario Brothers Carting late on a Saturday morning, my call went to voicemail, I left a message and Mike called me back very shortly afterwards. I'm currently trying to find a lawn mowing service and you'd be surprised how many of those guys I've called and never hear back from! I'll never understand how landscaping companies get new business when they don't return calls, but I digress. I believe Mike returned my call within the hour and assessed my needs ahead of a home renovation project. Based on my own research, I was anticipating a 10 yard dumpster and that's exactly what Mike recommended. It was nice to see eye to eye from the start with no high pressure up-sell, no additional fees on top of the quoted price and his schedule for delivery matched mine. Delivery of the dumpster happened midweek, on a snow day. With the crazy weather we've had early this year, mother nature decided to dump a foot of snow overnight. Fortunately, I marked the driveway where I wanted the dumpster placed but had concerns about the delivery being postponed due to weather and road conditions. I started clearing the driveway when the driver showed up. Initially, the driver told me that he couldn't drop the dumpster because he thought the driveway would be too slippery and he didn't want to get stuck. Conversely, I wanted the dumpster but did not want a large truck stuck in my driveway. We talked briefly and the driver agreed to try a different approach angle as I cleared some more snow. It was just enough for the driver to fit my driveway, drop the dumpster where I wanted it and to leave the driveway without any problems. He did look a bit annoyed about the weather and that my driveway wasn't clear when he showed up but, even so, he remained open minded about trying and we worked it out without needing to reschedule. I am grateful that the driver was willing to give it a shot in such lousy weather conditions and that allowed me to start demolition on time. I filled the 10 yard dumpster to rim and scheduled it for removal. As my project evolved, we decided to get a 2nd dumpster to finish the job. I called to have the 1st removed and ordered a 2nd, smaller one. There was little bit of a mix-up when my credit card was billed for the 1st dumpster, a difference of maybe $25 but Mike made good on the difference when charging me for the 2nd dumpster. Mistakes happen and I believe that to be an honest mistake, so no harm done! I have spoken with Mike this morning and scheduled removal of the 2nd dumpster now that we're done with it. I've had the 2nd dumpster longer than I anticipated but because I was doing as much of the renovation as I could on my own, the work progressed a little bit slower than I expected. Mike has been gracious in allowing me the time I need without pressuring me to take the dumpster back. Perhaps Mike has been too good at accommodating my needs? Anyway, I have to admit that working with Mike and making use of the dumpster service from Mario Brothers Carting was the easiest part of my project and when I'm in need of another dumpster in the future, he'll be the 1st one I call again. Overall, the service provided by Mario Brothers Carting has been phenomenal! Their schedule was accommodating, their pricing fair and honest and the people that I've spoken to and interacted with have been a pleasure. Thank you! read more
