No one came, however I gave them the benefit of the doubt again, given the rainy days of late and they likely were overbooked. I figured then they would come on Tuesday, the lawn would be done as the lawn is now overgrown. No one came. I called late Tuesday and left a message that I wished they had told me they were not accepting my job, I would have begun my search all over again. This quote is from them, even though every available weather source states we got more than 4in of snow....

The invoice was for nearly double the quote! ($725 vs $1,390). When I confronted them, one of the brothers told me that it was only a quote and that actual prices may vary. Since he was personally on the property when giving me the quote, it felt like deceptive business practices. I gave two stars instead of one because I asked them to split the difference between quote and invoice and I would pay that and call it a day. They did. But, still never using them again.

While I was impressed with the initial quoting experience, things went downhill from there. There…read morewas bit of miscommunication about an initial power washing date which eventually got worked out. A few weeks later, a 2-man crew came out to do the patching job and the supervisor stated that he did not agree with the proposed approach which was in the estimate made by the owner, Tom. He said that the areas to be repaired should be cut out as they were too shallow to be patched with the asphalt they had and it would likely rip up in the first plowable snow that winter. I called the office and asked for a chance to discuss with Tom (who wouldn't want this if the supervisor of the team questioned the approach). After multiple calls with Julie, the office manager, she assured me that Tom would call to discuss as well as come out to review the project again and he would call to discuss. We made arrangements for Tom to come out on a Thursday to review the driveway, so I adjusted my schedule to be home on that day. He didn't come and sent an email at end of day that he got tied up and would come the next day (which I could not do). Whether he came or not, I don't know. Over the course of this project, I left 2 separate messages with Tom and never had a call returned from him to discuss - only from the office manager. Julie was adamant that Tom would be the one that would call and would explain/make this right. It never happened and I never received a call. I took the time to return the phone calls to the vendors that I decided not to move ahead with since they made the effort to come out, estimate the driveway, and send a proposal. Cronin did not even have the courtesy to have a discussion on path forward for a signed contract where there were reasonable questions. Things sometimes fall through the cracks (no pun intended), but there were ample opportunities to have a discussion on this and value a customer enough to have that discussion. I just don't think they cared and it wasn't worth the hassle here.

The guys that come to my house are all very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and are happy to explain to me what they are doing with each application. They also send an email letting me know in advance when they will be here. They seem to put more fertilizer down than the previous landscaper. They never miss a spot that is included in my estimate/price, but can be easily missed. I guess the most important thing is that my lawn has never looked better! I recommend Staples.

Tom is the most responsive contractor I have ever worked with and the speed in which this company installed a sizable paver stone patio, in a great design patter including wall was incredible. In two days my backyard was turned into an oasis of beauty and they were careful to level, put down the right material and cut each stone to specifications. They even suggested designs and added a wall. The patio is unbelievable and it was done quickly and with no mess. They even replanted grass and cleaned up the entire area. It looked like they never were there! I would highly recommend this service for their quality and communications and timeliness.

Here are some of the reasons: - They never notify us when they are coming so if we do not take our lights down in our bushes, they end up destroyed as they say in their contract they are not responsible. We have had to replace several lights and also ripped furniture covers. I watch the crew just rush through the work without any regards to quality or our things and do not care if they destroy them. - They supposedly removed weeds, however we ended up with poisonous India Poke weed in our flower beds. - Our lawn had several yellow spots and despite reaching out to them about it I never heard back. - We do not do lawn mowing with them and they mowed our lawn with the Fall clean up and charged us for this without asking. It was not outlined in the contract that they would do a lawn mowing with fall clean up. Its unfortunate that this service has gone down hill. I liked working with them for years and had been happy with them in the past and hopefully this review will help them adjust their practices.
