I am glad that I did. Often, in a big practice doctors will rush you and just right a prescription for the first thing. Dr. Mendez is personable and really takes time to talk to you and is also reassuring without being condescending. Choosing a doctor is not always easy. Dr. Mendez spends time with her patients and really listens to you when you go to her with a problem. She doesn't give you the impression that she's in a rush. She normally sits down and pulls up all of your information on the computer before making a diagnosis so that she gets a big picture of what's going on with you. On my first visit to her for an annual physical, she spent about 20 minutes reviewing all of my files and discussing everything with me. I like going to her office because she makes me feel like a person - and not just another appointment to be dealt with quickly. Another plus about this office - if you are sick and need to be seen quickly, give the office a call and speak to Dr. Mendez's nurse. The office will have you leave a message on her voice mail. I was skeptical about this at first, but I promise you she will call you back fairly quickly. Once you explain what the issue is, 95% of the time they will squeeze you in to see the doctor that day. I've done this a couple of times when I had the flu or bronchitis. I'd highly recommend Dr. Mendez and the Internal Medicine Practice to anyone looking for a good doctor in the Orlando area!

After calling and leaving a message for clarification about a medical order, I never received a return call. When I called back later that day, I was simply told I needed to schedule an appointment to speak with the doctor. The office is over 30 minutes from my home, so it's not as if I can just stop by to resolve a communication issue. Like many large practices, everything goes through a call center, making it nearly impossible to reach the office directly. Florida has no shortage of medical providers. Customer service is what separates exceptional practices from mediocre ones, and this experience has been disappointing. I'm posting this in the hope that it gets the attention of the front office. I was nervous to try a new office but heard such wonderful things about this practice. Dr.Khan has really made me feel comfortable and at ease when coming into the office. She has an incredible attention to detail and is extremely thorough with her examinations. I also appreciate that the practice offers mental health services in addition to primary care. At my daughters 18 month check up with her pediatrician, it was recommended that she received a…read morephysical assessment by an OT since she still wasn't walking independently yet. We are self paying patients, so I was able to choose my place of therapy. In my search, I was looking specifically for Pediatric Therapies, and also one that was located close to my house. I found TLC Pediatric Therapies and after calling them and sending our referral, we were seen the next week. They had asked if we were looking for in home treatment or in a facility, and I chose facility. They offer physical and occupational therapy. This place is easy to find using GPS, and there is plenty of parking. Upon entering the facility, I noticed right away the cool circular (non florescent!!) lights, a sizable seating area, and a small section with activity cube toys, child sized seating, a tv playing Mickey Mouse cartoons, and two touch screen interactive game tablets on the opposite wall. There are also two more TVs in the larger seating area playing Mickey Mouse and HGTV. I arrived a few minutes before our scheduled appointment, and we were seen within five minutes. We met with Kelly, who assessed my daughter and answered my questions and concerns and assured me of things we were doing. There are several rooms in the facility including two larger rooms designed for sensory and physical activity. The sensory room has a ball pit, a circular swing, a bubble machine, mini trampoline, various puzzles and toys, and a really neat interactive light wall. The physical activity room includes a set of steps, a rock climbing wall and rope, mats, and a medical table. These are "common" rooms, and several patients and therapists at a time may be in there. There are also smaller rooms for more privacy. We have been visiting this place for a few weeks now, and my daughter has been showing improvement ! The therapists are friendly and professional and have good bedside manner. We will continue our sessions here until we feel we are all good to go.
