Marisa is exceptional. Smart, committed, action-oriented with fabulous efficient communication and excellent judgment. I'm an over-busy professional who has bought/sold many homes and have worked with dozens of service providers. Marisa handled the sale of my parent's home in Walnut Creek and she exceeded my expectations on every dimension. What impressed me most: - Analysis and assessment: From meeting #1, she brought value and insight about the market and how to position my parents home (which was lived in for 50 years and needed lots of attention)) - Proactive: After meeting #1, she followed up with a detailed written recommendation of the work, purchases, service providers with cost estimates and a timeline for execution. The proposal was spot-on and I approved it. - Turnkey: I told her I need someone who can program manage all the service providers. She said I can just hand her the keys and she delivered. - Purchasing and delivery: She made specific recommendations and arranged the purchase of tiles, lighting, carpeting, other fixtures etc. She arranged service providers from her proven set of relationships. They worked hard and executed on pace. - Strategic: Marisa knows the community and knows how to nurture the market, other agents and neighbors with previews and mini-events to build interest - Communication: She met my needs. Live when needed, but a lot via text and email. - Organized: I asked her to create a share document that tracked expenses and stored receipts for the work, fixtures, etc. She did that so I could keep track of everything - Pricing guidance: Her judgment was sharp. We had to make one price adjustment after 3 weeks when didn't get an immediate sale. Once we did, we had 2 clean offers (with potential for 3) within a few days. We she signaled smartly to the prospective buyers and we ended up accepting a buyer above the asking price. - Accountable: She brings an ecosystem, but Marisa was completely on it for us. I was dealing with Marisa, not junior inexperienced people. I also didn't have to deal with the service providers. Marisa handled it all. - Thoughtfulness: Marisa executed her job while also being very kind and thoughtful in her communication to my 90yo Mum after we had just lost my Dad. We always felt comfortable with her at a sensitive time. Marisa has my highest recommendation. Very grateful to her and we are looking forward to having a nice dinner to celebrate the sale and show our appreciation for her fantastic work. It's a no brainer to recommend Marisa to anybody. 10+ out of 10. read more

We have now sold two houses ( one in Pleasant Hill, second one in Danville) with Marisa, and I can't recommend her enough! She is incredibly efficient and always moves quickly to get trusted contractors lined up to prep the house for sale. Her communication skills are outstanding -- we were always informed and never left wondering what was happening. On top of that, she brings such a positive attitude to the entire process, which makes a stressful experience feel manageable and even exciting. Professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and truly dedicated to her clients. We are so grateful for all her hard work and support! read more

In short, Marisa helped my fiancé and I find our dream house. The funny thing is we met randomly at an open house that she was hosting and I fell for her vibe immediately. It was like an instant connection, I just knew she understood me. Having a connection or chemistry with a realtor is imperative in the process. Just think about it, this person is someone whose judgment and expertise is helping you make one of the biggest financial decisions of your life. We trusted her completely. She went above and beyond for us and was willing to hustle to help us find a home with a tight deadline. Not being from the East Bay, Marisa also helped us understand the different pockets in the areas we were looking at. She's also super well known in the area and has a ton of contacts for everything. Her reputation definitely helped us in the end. I can't emphasize how grateful I am to have happened upon her randomly. Realtors are a dime a dozen, but a truly great one is hard to come by. read more

Marisa did a phenomenal job as our listing agent. We originally listed in Jun 2024, and made a mistake hiring a top agent from outside the area who did not have a good understanding of the uniqueness of our location. Our property sat on the market for six weeks with no offers, so we switched to Marisa who is one of the top selling agents in our zip code. Marisa presented us with a comprehensive plan in advance for preparing and marketing our home, made several cost-effective suggestions for upgrades that we had not considered based on her understanding of what current buyers are looking for, developed a cost estimate for implementing the improvements that was spot on, handled all the project management activities including selecting and managing vendors, then marketed our property. We relisted our home in Oct 2024 and despite the softening market, Marisa was able to deliver four solid offers well above asking within one week of listing. We highly recommend Marisa to anyone looking for a listing agent for their home. read more

Marisa Cox is possibly the very best agent in the area. She's as connected as you can think and for multi-million homes that really makes a difference. Also, she has a great marketing team. She has the best stager. She's super easy to work with-- she gives suggestions but is not pushy. She sold my home for hundreds of thousands over ask in freaking January!!! That's how good she is. She also cares a lot about everyone. She bypasses money to help her client. I can't say enough about her. read more

I don't even know where to start! We found our first home with Marisa, and are beyond thrilled. We will continue to do business with Marisa and highly recommend her to everyone we know.  My husband and I were so lucky to find Marisa when we did, as we kicked off an aggressive search for our first home in the East Bay. We were pretty picky and selective in our house hunt, and Marisa graciously accepted that and felt positive we'd find something perfect. We did because of her. Before we even met her, Marisa spoke with us at length over the phone arming us with all of the information we needed to get started. She immediately made us feel at ease and ready to go. We didn't know the area super well, so leaned on her experience to navigate the towns and neighborhoods. She hit the ground running with us and then held our hands every step of the way, from writing our first offer, looking at comps, reviewing pages of disclosures, to managing and attending appointments with inspectors, contractors, etc. She is extremely professional, dedicated, responsive, and well-versed in what she does, not to mention insanely fun and upbeat. We have continued to stay in touch with Marisa beyond our close date, and see her not only as a valued resource in the community but a friend. read more

Marisa helped sell both our home in Lafayette, as well as buy my current home in Walnut Creek. She is the best hands-on realtor in the area - literally helping paint our deck to make sure it was in tip top shape for sale. She orchestrated updates to our home to make sure we got top dollar for it. Got well-above over asking! When it came time to buy my home in Walnut Creek, she literally sent hand-written cards to everyone in my desired neighborhood to see if anyone was willing to sell. Sure enough, someone responded and I bought it off-market. So grateful for her tireless work - she's a joy to work with! read more

Marisa is a fantastic real estate agent and is always my first phone call when I have a real estate question. She has helped us sell one house and buy another house- both were roller coaster transactions that she handled like a consummate pro. We looked at probably 20 different houses over several years with her before we found the one we wanted. She was patient and helped us find exactly the house that would fit our family. My husband and I had the pleasure of having Marisa help us purchase our first home. She came recommended by friends who had also worked with her. I had an idea of what working with a realtor would look like and I was worried about feeling pressured during the process. I could not be more thankful for Marisa and the wonderful experience we had with her. She never rushed us into making decisions, there was no pressure at any point and ultimately she got us into a home that we love!! I think it's evident from the moment you meet Marisa, she is a professional that deeply understands the real estate market. Beyond that, she listens to what her buyers are looking for and her personal preferences never came into play. We had encountered other people that we didn't work closely with that would talk about what THEY liked about the home. Marisa would walk through a home with us and call out areas that had been updated, or that could be a concern. She would show us areas that could be improved to add to resale value. As first time homeowners, we needed that expertise and guidance. Once we had our offer accepted, her and her office did a fantastic job of managing the logistics and walking us through what we needed to do making it as painless as possible. If you are looking for a real estate agent, reach out to Marisa today!!! read more

As many of you know, house hunting especially in this market is beyond stressful. My wife and I were extremely blessed and fortunate to use Marisa Cox as our realtor. In this crazy world of multiple offers on properties, looking at homes that we either liked or were out priced on, she was steady and professional. Her calmness and knowledge of the neighborhoods we looked at was second to none. She knew the areas like the back of her hand. She even knew what addresses were in specific school districts without looking them up. It was impressive to interact with Marisa and know that when a person knows their profession with that level of confidence , we were in excellent hands. We would definitely use her for any future real estate deals and HIGHLY RECOMMEND her to others. read more

Marisa Cox is fabulous and a class act! She was instrumental in not only helping us with our home purchase, but also in following up with seller's agent when the seller neglected to disclose items. We met Marisa at an open house she was representing, and her genuineness and assuredness made me want to work with her. My husband and I both had previous experiences working with other Realtors while purchasing condos/townhomes, but Marisa relationships and knowledge is what sets her apart. She was extremely patient sitting at one house that we were strongly considering purchasing for over an hour, as we hemmed and hawed about the pros & minuses. She also met us at both the County and City planning offices regarding two different homes that we were considering purchasing that had un permitted work so that we could get a better understanding of the full picture of the home prior to submitting offers. In addition, throughout the process her warmness, guidance, and ability to constructively identify potential issues with homes we were considering, made us feel well taken care of as well as our connection grew to that of a an experienced older sister. Marisa knows many people in the industry, which was critical when determining what to bid, securing financing quickly, as well as getting the right inspector and/or repairpeople to the home. Highly recommend utilizing Marisa's services, you will be well represented! read more

We decided to sell our home in Walnut Creek and are so happy we used Marisa Cox to help. Our home sale turned out to be a really big project and Marisa's help was critical to the successful sale we had. She went above and beyond in so many ways. Her network of vendors and coordination of them was amazing. From flooring, to lighting, to painting and foundation repairs- she was always on point and really helped take our home from a tired lived in property to a perfectly staged gem ready for the market. This resulted in an over asking offer on the home which ended up meeting our financial goals and gave us the confidence to move forward and complete our sale. I represent a small, local real estate development company that specializes in land entitlements, single family detached construction and remodeling existing homes. For several years we have been working with Marisa and plan to continue to use her exclusively for all our real estate needs. Since being introduced to her, she has represented us during the sale of several of our homes, served as our broker for purchasing property to develop, or remodel and made herself available for consultations whenever we need advice. Complex transactions, last minute roadblocks and delays have never hampered Marisa's ability to ensure that the escrow closes to everyone's satisfaction. Her continued professionalism, round the clock involvement and pleasant demeanor have always overcome any obstacles or difficulties we have encountered. I can't sing Marisa's praises enough! She was highly referred by a close friend of mine, whom also found the perfect home via Marisa. She found us the perfect house, in our dream location, within our budget, within one month, during the craziest stressful time in the market. Marisa was recommended to us by a friend and we feel so lucky we found her. As first-time home buyers, we were fairly apprehensive about the whole home-buying process but Marisa helped set our minds at ease. It was clear throughout the process that Marisa has an excellent reputation in the industry. She seemed to really listen and understand what our main priorities were in our house hunt. Her detailed knowledge of the different neighborhoods in the area was hugely helpful, as we have only recently moved to Walnut Creek. She was accessible, flexible and very professional throughout our interactions and I could not recommend anyone more highly. Marisa is a good friend of my daughter and of many of her friends. When I first met her, I thought she was charming, helpful, fun, and knowledgeable about the realtor business. I thought I would ask for her card and that I would keep her in mind for the future. Recently, my husband and I decided to start looking for a property in the East Bay, Walnut Creek being one our favorite destinations (since my daughter lives there), but we were open to other communities. We called Marisa Cox and we started our adventure, which covered different areas, areas that Marisa knew very well. She was able to tell us just by the address whether it was beautiful, noisy, near the freeway, Bart etc. Marisa was ready to show how professional she was from the beginning and was always ready to help us make appointments to see the properties at our convenience, since we lived in San Francisco. Our adventure was fun, and she soon knew what we were looking for, and so she would only consider properties that met our desires and that were worth seeing. By doing this, we were soon inside the house that is now ours and that we are loving! I would highly recommend Marisa Cox as a person who will be both helpful and ready to make your dream of a house come true...and the paper work a breeze! We highly recommend Marisa Cox as your Realtor. read more

Marisa is a gem! We had the wonderful experience of working with her as we bought one home and sold another. It was absolutely ideal to be guided through this process by an agent like Marisa. She has many years of experience, a strong knowledge of the local market, excellent connections, an extremely warm demeanor, and positive, yet realistic, attitude. We reached out to Marisa a little over a year ago to help us purchase a new home, warning her that we were looking for some specifics that are very hard to come by and that we would be pretty picky in the selection process. Not only did our laundry list of must-haves not deter her, but Marisa helped us scout out neighborhoods of interest, weigh the pros and cons of buying a turnkey home vs. renovating, and tour many homes we thought might fit our criteria, all the while maintaining excellent communication with us. Never once did we feel like we were inconveniencing Marisa with our questions or feel pressured to make a decision with which we were not completely comfortable. After more than a year in a very difficult market, Marisa presented us with a home that we never would have found on our own, led us on multiple lengthy tours to review the property with a fine tooth comb, and helped us navigate writing an offer that ultimately landed us a beautiful home in an ideal neighborhood that was truly beyond our expectations. Afterwards, Marisa helped us prepare our own home to hit the market in a very short time frame. She took care of all the grunt work while working with our schedules, organizing to-do items like inspections and repairs, packing, cleaning, staging, marketing, and even helped maintain our home while it was being shown and we were out of town. Needless to say, we were very happy with the offers presented to us and our home sold very quickly. We are confident that this whole process went so smoothly due to Marisa's excellent advice, strategy and work ethic. She was an absolute pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend her to anyone looking to buy or sell their home! read more

Working with Marisa was honestly one of the best experiences with an agent I've ever had. My fiancé and I at the time were looking for our very first home. We truly had no idea how to find a home, what it entailed, what financing options were available, and what criteria to search for. In our preliminary search, we were referred by a friend to another agent. We didn't enjoy working with this agent because they didn't seem to care for what we were looking for in terms of a home and brought us to view homes that did not match our criteria. My fiancé and I continued searching on our own, visiting open houses. This is where we first met Marisa. She was very warm and welcoming, and we had a great conversation on the couch at one of her open houses. Since we already had an agent, we did not consider using Marisa at the time. We found the mortgage broker first and during that process, expressed our dissatisfaction with the current agent. Our broker recommended Marisa and once we linked up with her, we realized she was that agent that we'd met at the open house and liked very much! The rest of the house buying process went smooth and quickly thanks to Marisa's attentiveness. Marisa was proactive in finding us a contractor to help us with work during our short timeframe. What I liked about her is that she didn't pressure or rush us at all. She was patient and informative, which is import as first time buyers. Overall, she's got an awesome, down to earth personality that was easy go work with. Real estate is all about feeling confident about your purchase, especially when it's such a large amount of money, and Marisa made sure we were comfortable the whole way through. We've already referred her to one of our friends and wouldn't hesitate to work with her again! read more

A long overdue review for one of our favorite people ever. We met Marisa in 2016 at an open house and shortly after she helped us buy our first home. In 2020 when we were looking for more space for our growing family she helped us sell and buy a new place. Without getting in to the details, Marisa went so far above and beyond to make a very stressful situation possible, that I attribute our happy standing to her hard work and generosity. Always willing to go the extra mile, always available, and often serving as part time therapist when I needed to vent. It is rare to meet someone who is the best as what they do, while also being so kind and caring. Marisa feels like family, and if you have the opportunity to work with her do not pass it up! read more

Marisa is truly the best in the business. She helped us navigate the purchase of our first home 10 years ago. Then, two years ago, she helped us sell that home and purchase another while simultaneously helping my mother and father-in-law purchase their home just a mile away from our new place. Marisa knows the area real estate incredibly well, is creative in finding solutions that will fit clients' needs and limitations, stays calm and reassuring under pressure, and will work tirelessly to help you through a deal. She is well-connected and well-liked by her peers and the community. It's great to hear "oh yeah!, I know that agent" when you come to her with a property of interest. Marisa was highly recommended to us when we started planning to sell our house. We first met with Marisa about a year before the sale, when we started construction of our new home. From the start Marisa was very thorough in her comp analyses, which was very challenging given the unique features of our house. Throughout the process Marisa proved to have excellent judgment and insights, while keeping expectations well grounded. This served us very well from early planning to the final price negotiation. Her counsel was always professional and supported with sound judgment. She worked with us on marketing strategies from start to finish. Because of our experience with Marisa, we have complete confidence in her and highly recommend her. Having an agent like Marisa would be especially beneficial where comp analysis or other considerations are not straight forward. We would not hesitate to use Marisa again. read more

We met Marisa at an open house by chance, but really connected by choice! We have been looking at houses on and off for over 3 years with a variety of realtors who we did not feel took into account what we were looking for. In working with her, she always had such a genuine positive attitude and true passion for the work she does! She gave real honest opinions and helped us better understand many of the risk/reward factors in certain homes. She is soooo knowledgeable in all neighborhoods in the walnut creek/pleasant hill area that we were looking into, and overall was just super helpful throughout our process. She ended up finding us our home in an off-market deal, a DREAM neighborhood, with sooo much more than we ever thought we would be able to get in our first home purchase. Can't recommend her enough! I think we will remain friends for a long time and look forward to continuing to lean on her for her connections all throughout the industry to make our house our forever home. Before I emailed Marisa I was very anxious and wondered how I could ever get the house in shape and sold. She took care of everything and I am so very happy with the result. Marisa arranged for very reasonable contractors to make repairs. She then "staged" the house and had it professionally photographed. I had an exceptional deposit into my account today from the sale and it will go a long way to helping ensure that I will have a reasonable retirement. She got considerably more in the sale than the house listed for. I will always be grateful to her and will seek her representation for all future real estate needs. read more

To say we had an incredible experience working with Marisa would be grossly undervaluing the service we received from Marisa while selling our old house and purchasing a new one. She not only pinpointed the best neighborhoods that met our interests, but in essence functioned as a general contractor in helping us upgrade our old house before selling and for upgrades at the new house. She is a relentless worker and an incredibly kind and thoughtful person. If you choose to work with Marisa you are making a great choice with one of the most important decisions anyone has to make.
