Marisa handled the sale of my parent's home in Walnut Creek and she exceeded my expectations on every dimension. What impressed me most: - Analysis and assessment: From meeting #1, she brought value and insight about the market and how to position my parents home (which was lived in for 50 years and needed lots of attention)) - Proactive: After meeting #1, she followed up with a detailed written recommendation of the work, purchases, service providers with cost estimates and a timeline for execution. The proposal was spot-on and I approved it. - Turnkey: I told her I need someone who can program manage all the service providers. She said I can just hand her the keys and she delivered. - Purchasing and delivery: She made specific recommendations and arranged the purchase of tiles, lighting, carpeting, other fixtures etc. She arranged service providers from her proven set of relationships. They worked hard and executed on pace. - Strategic: Marisa knows the community and knows how to nurture the market, other agents and neighbors with previews and mini-events to build interest - Communication: She met my needs. Live when needed, but a lot via text and email. - Organized: I asked her to create a share document that tracked expenses and stored receipts for the work, fixtures, etc. She did that so I could keep track of everything - Pricing guidance: Her judgment was sharp. We had to make one price adjustment after 3 weeks when didn't get an immediate sale. Once we did, we had 2 clean offers (with potential for 3) within a few days. We she signaled smartly to the prospective buyers and we ended up accepting a buyer above the asking price. - Accountable: She brings an ecosystem, but Marisa was completely on it for us. I was dealing with Marisa, not junior inexperienced people. I also didn't have to deal with the service providers. Marisa handled it all. - Thoughtfulness: Marisa executed her job while also being very kind and thoughtful in her communication to my 90yo Mum after we had just lost my Dad. We always felt comfortable with her at a sensitive time. Marisa has my highest recommendation. Very grateful to her and we are looking forward to having a nice dinner to celebrate the sale and show our appreciation for her fantastic work. 1.Choosing Amber Hom Real Estate, and Amber particularly proved to be a mistake and waste of time…read more Honestly, the mentality and temperament of Amber, once challenged, proved to be dishonest, lack accountability, lack concern for truth, lack concern for her client's needs and concerns. Who needs that? This is a true and honest, however, brief account of my experience with Amber. Long ago, Amber had assured me that, in return for the listing, she would assist me in planning and preparing my investment property for sale. I had to first evict the tenant but did so eventually. I had told Amber that as soon as I had gained occupancy, I needed to have a handyman, a carpet installer and anything else I might need ready to go. She received the keys on Thursday and assured me that I could count on her. Her Handyman was then, after inspection, supposed to have an estimate ready for me the next day (Friday). It is Tuesday, and nothing has been done; not estimates for carpet, not an estimate from the handyman, nor even the updated comp's I had asked for (via email). Amber only collected the keys and did nothing more. What I expected is that she keep her promise and be on-top of things as she assured me she would, making sure that not a day was lost. However, today (Tues), after receiving no estimates or updates after the weekend when they needed to be ready, I contacted her. When I began to express that I was unhappy with the lack of progress, and being lied to about when I'd see estimates, she immediately interrupted me, telling me that she doesn't like the negative vibe and that maybe she's not the right agent for me. Lets be clear, she NEVER asked to know the specific reasons for my complaint because she never let me state them. She continued to speak over me to make it difficult if not impossible to get a word in. The truth did not matter, nor was she interested in anything outside of her own comfort zone. There was no sign of accountability or sign of maturity and professionalism. It was shocking to see in a grown woman. Amber is not an agent that consistently and truly cares about her clients, the truth, about growth and improvement, or about fairness. Do yourself a favor and find a Broker that actually keeps their word, that has integrity (Remember Integrity?) and doesn't dishonor her word or break her promises. With Amber, I was reminded that there are people with very low standards that only think they are great, but when it really matters, they are failures. Feel free to contact me if needed.
