Good food but seemed a bit pricey for what I got...The ceviche didn't have as much seafood as I would have liked. People were friendly but the acoustics were overwhelming....meaning I could barely hear the person right across from me because of so many echoes. Had dinner there last night, we had been looking forward to it for a while since I don't eat or cook seafood but my husband loves it so I like to treat him to a nice dinner. We were both very disappointed, he ordered the whole fried fish, it was so over cooked it was very dried out, he only got a couple of pieces off the bone the rest he kind of pried off in tiny bits. I had the carne asada tacos, the meat was tough and gristly and very tasteless. Prices are fine if we'd gotten a good meal but we left feeling very ripped off. They even charged $3.50 for chip, and if we wanted salsa to go with it would have been another $3.50! read more

I agree w/other post - you can't see where it is from the street, but don't bother going in, not worth it. For $25 I should be full, only weigh 100lbs, but am getting candy bar as we speak. There's not much fish in the appetizer or entree. Had to ask server what kind of fish is in the tostados, didn't know, had to ask chef. I ordered beans w/my dish, very watery - you have to wait until they are cold to catch them on your fork. You seat yourself, so I chose a table in back by restroom, was only alone for 5 mins. Next thing I know, I'm 1 of 11 people (an a screaming toddler!!) in this alcove. Had to yell "check, please!" to get the heck out of there. Absolutely one of the best restaurants in Yuma. A little hard to find, and "decor challenged" but if you are a foodie and not a snob, you'll fine the adjustments well worth it. While only submitting one review, I've eaten there several times and sampled the menu (here, there and everywhere) and found nothing lacking. The ceviche is authentic and delectable, and other menu items are great. The staff is attentive to almost a fault, though they do seem to get overwhelmed at times with customers. That's the price you pay for success, darn it. Oh, and Mariscos Mar Azul passes my litmus test for restaurant success, which involves the following standards for a Rock Star Restaurant (tm), which are: - Quality food that will not leave you starving or broke when you leave - Attentive staff that truly cares about your dining experience (and it shows) - Great menu, with at least a moderate amount of innovation - Good location - Owners who care (demonstrated by unique premise, decor, etc.) - Non-corporate (not a chain... or at least a local chain instead of a regional or national chain) - Last, but not least, food that is "lick the plate good". A seafood oasis in the desert. I would have never thought that I could get such delicious and freshly prepared seafood in Yuma. I had the shrimp tostada and a fish taco; both items were great. Nice and clean facility with excellent selection of seafood. Their Torito popper is tasty and would highly recommend to sample. The seafood was well prepared and not over breaded or cooked. Wait staff was friendly and helpful with selections or questions. For anyone that does not like seafood there is a good variety of other tacos to choose from. I loved the fish tacos, grilled and breaded, with the corn tortillas, they had a very good flavor! The house salsa was pretty good as well. The service was awesome, very friendly and accommodating, seafood was fresh, the seating was a little bit of a tight fit but it was cozy and the chairs were comfy Prices weren't bad, I would rather pay a little extra for fresh seafood than pay for cheaper seafood and risk getting sick. First time trying Mariscos Mar Azul and glad we did. First off if you do not like seafood or if you are looking for quantity and not quality this place is not for you but if you like a nice clean place with nice decor, excellent service, beautiful presentation and perfectly prepared food then yes this place is a must try. Since you are buying quality it is a little higher in price then normal Mexican restaurants but again quality cost, two appetizers, dinner for four with tip and one drink each cost us $128.00. Yes we will go back again when we want to treat someone to a really nice Mexican dinner. read more

Yuma... Fish tacos... Really? Yes! this place has the best crispy perfectly seasoned fish tacos @ $1.50 each. Typical suspects on top. The seafood cocktails $9.99 (s) $10.99(m) and $14.99(L) are worth the money in this sleepy little town. They also offer a very tasty shrimp and cheese pickled jalapeno popper as an appetizer for $4.99. Salsa was on more of a saucy side that packed a punch. The great variety of hot sauces on each table was a nice touch. This place was packed with locals and I see why. Take the extra 10 minutes to get off the freeway and hunt for this place. Terrible lunch experience today at this restaurant. Waitress Jackie was not friendly, courteous nor attentive at all. We ordered and she never brought us our order of toritos. I went there after great reviews...I was completely disappointed, the Shrimp Cocktail, was like shrimp in water...no avocado...only cucumber, I make this at home, and I make it more tasty, and I've only made it twice, ohhh...they charged me for three tostados I had to ask for, shrimp cocktail should be served with tostadas for $11.00 for a medium Never again!!! read more

2nd time we've eaten here...perfect place to stop for San Diego to Phoenix drive. Great Maui Maui grilled fish tacos. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Service was friendly and excellent. The restaurant was very clean ...no fish smell which is hard for a seafood restaurant to accomplish. Location is not too far from I-8 but you have to look hard for it....we were using Waze gps and it wasn't exactly spot on. Can't wait to eat there again. read more

Update: went back with a friend last night, ordered chips, a Molcajete (ceviche served in a molcajete) and flan.

Their food is always excellent. The wait time during lunch can be delayed because they are so popular. I suggest going outside the lunch hour run to avoid crowds. Great shrimp cocktails. Love this place. My staff always picks this restaurant for a treat. read more

I'm not sure if the owner reads these but I've been here twice and both times I've been waited on by the same waitress. Her name is Boyrinquen, a very proper and professional young woman. I'm not sure what character ethics you have in your training program but don't lose this employee, you'll regret it. As for the restaurant; food is awesome no doubt, aside from the screaming kids the atmosphere is great, not sure about the techno rave music in a Mexican sea food restaurant but I guess if nobody complains they like it. It good to have the TV on with no volume but can you at least turn on the captions for those who want to watch? I swear there this one fly there that finds me for revenge but overall very clean establishment. I would give this more stars but the cap is five and only due to your employee.
